They had a crumbling rock effect over his voice. He sounded a lot worse than Bane ever did.
Wonder if it's one of those movies that those who like character driven stories would love if it didn't have obvious reshuffling to be more commercial and as a result it was just okay.
The Wolverine had similiar critism regarding the third act not fitting with the rest of the movie

Wolverine was still recieved well though so it's possible that the rushed third act may not compromise the rest of the movie
The Wolverine had 70%fresh rating.
This is currently at 20%
Comparing the 2 is a disservice to TW

Y'know, call me a radical, but I tend to blame directors for bad movies. Joking aside I can understand the temptation to blame Fox. They certainly cultivated bad rep for interference since the days of Wolverine Origins and Tom Rothman. I can even emphasize with them, but that doesn't let them off scot free for me. It's still their work also. You make a bad movie, you own it.
Yes mate but not for the better. Dr franklins voice would of been better and I'm serious.
I'm not sure I agree. Fox hasn't ever cared about this franchise to begin with, they gave the keys to the kingdom to a cheap, novice director with one success under his belt and let him do as he pleased. It'd be akin to locking a child in a room and seeing that he destroyed it while unattended; who's to blame, the child or the parents? I recognize that this is a far from perfect analogy, and I don't mean to be patronizing by referring to Trank as a child in this case, but it illustrates my point pretty well.
Modulated.....badly, like an effect you get on a kids toy mic.
That is the ultimate question. Only difference is that so far, we've heard pretty mixed stuff about the early character development having solid chemistry between actors, but not giving them much to work with & being rather mundane, unlike The Wolverine which had more praise for its first two acts.
Just read on twitter
"It's clobbering time" is something Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say before he slapped him about. Comic book fans will love that.
Two really awful things i just read from reddit
"The only reason they go to the other dimension is because Reed, Doom and Johnny get drunk. Seriously. It is awful and people will probably be talking about how ****** this set-up is for years."
And
"There's a very sudden time jump of 1 year roughly an hour into the film that feels like it was tacked on in reshoots"
Horrible.
Also remember those old rumours from last year that Trank wasted months trying to do effects by himself, if that was true it would indicate that the studio was not bothering to keep an eye on the production if they allowed things to go on for so long without doing anything about it.

Here's a new tv-spot with the actual "It's clobbering time" line. Doesn't sound like Bell.
Exactly my point, which is why I felt my "child left unattended" analogy fit quite well.

Granted Trank does shoulder some blame in my eyes, he clearly didn't handle himself very well, but I think the suits who put him in charge are more at fault for not ever caring about the property until Marvel was red hot.
Fair enough. I just think he's able to shoulder the blame whether it was being a yes man or if he was given the keys to the kingdom. He still has responsibility to the movie imo. Not saying I let Fox off either.
Okay. That line delivery was pretty cool.
Don't know if I should go watch it.
