This is totally Green Lantern all over again or X-Men: Origins Wolverine.

Well If I were a die hard FF fan, I would want something even if it was an animated movie or Pixar film. I am a HUGE Spidey, X-Men, Batman, Avenger, Justice League comic reader/ fanboy. I would be sad if there were NO movies or animated shows about them.
FF fans need not worry, our sequel is coming.

Yeah. It's just a giant What If? What if the Thing wasn't the Thing and Married Mrs. Fantastic and had an Invisible Girl and a Human Torch without the flames and could run fast.

Empire says, "Brave." "Talented Cast." "Fun."

Reminds me of a comedian describing the PR they did for some of their early work saying their posters would say "5 stars" and that was maybe if you added them up from all the various reviews. lol

Fincher on Alien3?
Yeah. I did hear the other day (can't recall where) that his intended version of Alien 3 was supposed to be amazing.

Green Lantern was a gut punch, but I was never on board with Reynolds in the role, so it was a small blessing. But Mark Strong was the perfect Sinestro.

Not to run down a rabbit trail, but it still bothers me today that Strong was so misused in that film. I knew from the beginning it was a total mistake not to make Sinestro the main villain of the film.

I never had a problem with Ryan being cast, but in retrospect, it was a mistake.

Yeah. I like Mark. Really disappears into roles. Maybe he'd make a good Deathstroke?

GL, Catwoman and this movie didn't surprise me. Wolverine Origins, I should have guessed after the X-Men: The Last Stand wasn't going to be any better.

As bad as this movie might be fans who have been hating this movie since the cast was announced still have to deal with the fact that Fox ain't giving the rights back to Marvel anytime soon. So if I were a HUGE FF fan I won't be celebrating this movie's failure/ panning by critics. In fact, this might very well be the last time we see FF in live action for some time. That sucks for casual FF fans like myself and die hard fans.

i wouldn't bet on that... FOX does have share holders... and well... if this film bombs and they realize all 3 films were a colossal waste of money... (and if it's true they do pay "rent" to some extent on these properties.. then... there's no longer a point keeping them.. they will just continue to funnel out money with no return profit... Might as well make a deal for something you could actually use (x-men tv rights) rather than just let something collect dust

How sad is it that the best version of Doom we have so far was in one episode of Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes? I mean seriously, how does one 20 minute cartoon episode characterize and nail a prominent villain so much better than 3 feature length films? Ugh, I'm getting a headache

Now watch this gloriousness and weep for what we could/should be getting

I actually saw it in theaters and it wasn't until I saw it again on DVD that I admitted to myself that it sucked.
This kinda happened to me too. I mean, I hated Reynolds' and Lively's casting from the start and made no secret of that, but I did go see it in theaters and spent a while afterwards trying to convince myself it actually wasn't that bad. I blame Mark Strong. He always makes me want to like things, lol.

Damn that mark strong, he would've made an excellent Doom.

Actually I'd argue that this is worse. Those films were an original in the case of GL, and a pseudo prequel in the case of XMO. They weren't trying to improve on anything that had been done previously. They were bad films, but in this case, you had two FF films that were both critically panned, but the first one seemed to have caught on somewhat with the audience at least enough to greenlight a sequel, but never expounded on it's potential.

The bar was set so low for this film to start with, and they managed to make a film that seems likely to be worse than the first two installments. I have no clue how they ended up doing that.

This is not the first time I've went to watch that clip on Youtube and it won't be the last.

As he should. :atp:

This not a Green Lantern solution or a X-Men Origins Wolverine as those movies were total s*** (I do like Ryan & Mark in their respective roles though).

FF, as it's been said here on the forum (and like I said on other threads), and as it's being said by Faraci (who's not flat out loving the movie, he's saying the first two thirds are good and the third is a letdown. Yes, he is a *****e anyway), or Steve Weintraub from Collider and other reviews, is a good movie for its first two thirds and the third act is like some corporate hack directed it.

Holy Arad, holy Arad, HOLY MOTHERARADING ARAD! They seriously grabbed some random words from the Empire negative review and made it seem positive. That is some MAD Magazine level stuff right there. There is literally an old MAD Magazine bit that goes exactly like this. Sweet Mary, Joseph, and their chubby tyke Jesus...

On Rotten Tomatoes Fantastic Four is at 17 % while Ant-Man is at 80 % Dragonball Z is at 100 %

Is that even legal? Can they use Critics words out of context like that?
They shouldn't be able to.
Shouldn't Empire force them to take that down at least?

When someone tells me that Faraci is a reviewer they trust, I cease talking to them.

I actually like some of his reviews back when he was with CHUD, but I found him to be less and less reliable as a reviewer.
