Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - - - Part 41

That concept art looks like something out of a Neill Blomkamp film.

Not something I ever want to see in a FF movie.

So you believe Kate Mara shat herself on the set from drugs and that Trank physically assaulted Mara and insulted her?

There's too many random things people posted on various other forums that receiced attention even though there is nothing to confirm any of it. :loco:

We can only speak of what has been said on THIS FORUM....what others say on other forums are problems that NEED TO STAY ON THOSE FORUMS.

No one here has said any of that, so keep that crap off of this forum even when trying to make a point, no one has said those things here so why bring the up?

Seriously, it is fine if you enjoyed the movie, but please stop trying to prove other people's opinions wrong. Just stick with yours...

Yeah Trank does get a lot of unwarranted heat, but you can't blame the audience because people don't tend to read all the details about the news and then you have so much fake conspiracy things flying around the web.

He brought that heat on himself because he wasn't able to take "any kind of heat" and lashed out at fans. Plain and simple...

The things that have been brought to this forum have proven to be true, simply by watching the movie itself, they were proven.

Dude what are you on about? No one gave attention to those things.

What was said in the trades was that Trank and Mara didn't get along because he didn't want her in the film. No one ever said he assaulted her.

In fact, the reports said that Teller and Trank almost came to physical blows on set, but there were no physical altercations.

You need to give it a rest. You sound obsessed.

You have a habit of completely making things up to support whatever ridiculous point you're trying to assert.

Never heard that before, or anything remotely similar to it.
and that Trank physically assaulted Mara and insulted her?
I've only heard you bring that up a time or two....an then others here say it never happened or that they had never heard it. They have said they heard that Trank ostricized her on the set....but being ostracized and physically attacked are two extremely different situations. From my past experiences with you on this forum and others on the Hype....I know that you like to make things up to back your opinions.

I don't read any other forums but this one.

.... Drz. please don't refer to drama and rumors from other websites that no on knows what you're talking about... this film had clear issues and drama behind the scenes.. but i don't think for one moment anyone here believes Kate Mara shat herself on drugs on set....

and that's the first for most of us hearing that.. and many of us do visit other sources... so that speaks volumes.

A crewmember acknowledges that Trank bears much of the fault for the film's problems but also says the Fox studio should not escape blame. The movie was "ill-conceived, made for the wrong reasons and there was no vision behind the property," this person says. "Say what you will about Marvel but they have a vision."

As Fox hurried to put the project into production before rights to the material reverted to Marvel, the studio was scrambling with multiple rewrites and delays in starting the film. They "were afraid of losing the rights so they pressed forward and didn't surround [Trank] with help or fire him. They buried their heads in the sand." Fox declined to comment.

Reading this sobering s** disgusts me to the point that I could actually cry real man-tears. And people wonder why fans have such an unmitigated hatred for FOX studios. :down

yeah i think most rational people know it's both their faults.. neither the studio nor trank should get full blame. both are guilty

To be honest I feel kind of sorry for Josh Trank at this point. I mean sure, maybe he's a huge jerk and really unprofessional and maybe a not very good director. But this project was clearly doomed from the start, and a guy in Trank's position who's still new at this should get the chance to make his own terrible movies and ruin his career on his own terms instead of being a sacrificial lamb for FOX's business deals.

I did get the sense that Fox got to a point to just press forward no matter what. The whole project wreaked of that, and I think that's what angers a lot of fans.

I mean it seemed that way even before principal production started.

The reason I don't feel sorry for Trank is because he's a grown man and an adult. 31 might seem young for the industry and for a director, but he's been through high school and college. He's probably worked a few different jobs. He should know better and should be better versed in business etiquette.

Say what you will about Bryan Singer, but the man never burned his bridges with Fox, even when he was seemingly treated poorly. Now maybe he made a mistake by taking the Superman Returns offer instead of continuing with X-Men. However, even through that whole thing, he never trashed or insulted Fox. He NEVER completely closed the door on returning to X-Men. And guess what? Eventually he did. Superman Returns was a disappointment, but eventually the fences were mended and his career recovered.

What? 'Goat legs' McGee, obsessed? Never. :o

Not that he's the only poster to do so in defense of this film.

I don't feel sorry for him whatsoever. He's an unprofessional ass. He and FOX? They clearly deserved each other and the baby they gave birth to together was essentially stillborn.

Exactly. Of ALL the comic book properties to be so reckless with, why f*** this one up--and for the third time at that??? FOX's rationale on this is just mind-blowingly ridiculous. These executives may have college degrees but they lack common sense. That is painfully evident as shown in this cinematic debacle.

Bryan Singer is the ONLY thing standing in the way of the X-Men becoming more of the same s*** like FOX's Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Elektra, etc. Think about that for a minute. On their own merit, FOX does not give a flying fizzuck about any of these properties. :csad:

Yeah, Bryan's a class act. I may have a seething hatred for Superman Returns, but I still love the guy.

Fox does not care about quality so much as money. It bit them in the ass towards the end of Rothman's run and it'll happen again if they don't start pushing quality more. Spy and Kingsman aren't enough to make up for crap like Fantastic Four, Agent 47, and Unfinished Business.

It has potential, but I would not be shocked if it underperformed. It's going to have competition in the Alice sequel (which could very well flop, though the first one did make way more than any X-film), Angry Birds, Neighbors 2, and even the Turtles sequel. I'm not sure it'll do significantly larger numbers than DoFP, and anything less will put it as a modest success at best (I can't imagine it's a cheaper film, after all).

It depends on what we would consider to be underperforming. I SEE SPIDEY is one of the best box office people on this forum, so I'd certainly be interested in her opinion. But for me personally, given the competition from DC and Marvel and the amount riding on this film, I would consider anything under $900 million worldwide to be a disappointment and anything under $700 million to be a disaster.

Apocalypse is the biggest weapon Fox has left. If they can't get up around or surpass the billion dollar mark with him or at least a big increase over what DOFP earned, Fox is going to have real problems with the franchise moving forward as it probably means the audience is tapped out.

Who knows and who cares. Rumors are rumors. The only thing that's confirmed is the piece of **** that was shown in theaters back on August 7th, that was absolute crap.

I for one hope for sure everyone on that project was stoned out of their minds, because anyone in their right state of mind to produce such a steaming pile of horse manure should never work in Hollywood ever again.

I've been saying this for a minute now. It's not Godzilla and Maleficent this time. It's a rock and a hard place unless someone moves their release date. And I'd sooner take my nieces to see Wonderland 2 or support that crappy Turtle sequel before I'd support Ooze-pocalypse.

Ah, so that's your plan? Come up with some of the lamest, ridiculous, baseless rumors that no one here has ever heard of to weaken the overall credibility of possible stories of what went on behind the scenes that do actually sound plausible....

Well...you've been quoted for questionable comments all year, so why stop now right? :sly:

On the whole Fox having a bad year thing...

Looks like Scorch Trials is getting less positive early reception than some anticipated. It's still early, but it's only sitting at 55% on RT. I remember when people told me Fox was so different than they were in 2009, and that a year like that couldn't happen again...

Considering how Fox only made $70 million off of DOFP, $700 million certainly wouldn't be a healthy number.

No no stop that, Bryan Singer is still making good X-men movies so we shouldn't criticize them apparently :o

Fear not.... It's just more of that "fake conspiracy" stuff.
