So you believe Kate Mara shat herself on the set from drugs and that Trank physically assaulted Mara and insulted her?

Yeah Trank does get a lot of unwarranted heat, but you can't blame the audience because people don't tend to read all the details about the news and then you have so much fake conspiracy things flying around the web.

Never heard that before, or anything remotely similar to it.So you believe Kate Mara shat herself on the set from drugs
I've only heard you bring that up a time or two....an then others here say it never happened or that they had never heard it. They have said they heard that Trank ostricized her on the set....but being ostracized and physically attacked are two extremely different situations. From my past experiences with you on this forum and others on the Hype....I know that you like to make things up to back your opinions.and that Trank physically assaulted Mara and insulted her?

A crewmember acknowledges that Trank bears much of the fault for the film's problems but also says the Fox studio should not escape blame. The movie was "ill-conceived, made for the wrong reasons and there was no vision behind the property," this person says. "Say what you will about Marvel but they have a vision."
As Fox hurried to put the project into production before rights to the material reverted to Marvel, the studio was scrambling with multiple rewrites and delays in starting the film. They "were afraid of losing the rights so they pressed forward and didn't surround [Trank] with help or fire him. They buried their heads in the sand." Fox declined to comment.

Reading this sobering s** disgusts me to the point that I could actually cry real man-tears. And people wonder why fans have such an unmitigated hatred for FOX studios.![]()
Dude what are you on about? No one gave attention to those things.
What was said in the trades was that Trank and Mara didn't get along because he didn't want her in the film. No one ever said he assaulted her.
In fact, the reports said that Teller and Trank almost came to physical blows on set, but there were no physical altercations.
You need to give it a rest. You sound obsessed.

You have a habit of completely making things up to support whatever ridiculous point you're trying to assert.
To be honest I feel kind of sorry for Josh Trank at this point. I mean sure, maybe he's a huge jerk and really unprofessional and maybe a not very good director. But this project was clearly doomed from the start, and a guy in Trank's position who's still new at this should get the chance to make his own terrible movies and ruin his career on his own terms instead of being a sacrificial lamb for FOX's business deals.
I did get the sense that Fox got to a point to just press forward no matter what. The whole project wreaked of that, and I think that's what angers a lot of fans.

Yeah, Bryan's a class act. I may have a seething hatred for Superman Returns, but I still love the guy.Say what you will about Bryan Singer, but the man never burned his bridges with Fox, even when he was seemingly treated poorly. Now maybe he made a mistake by taking the Superman Returns offer instead of continuing with X-Men. However, even through that whole thing, he never trashed or insulted Fox. He NEVER completely closed the door on returning to X-Men. And guess what? Eventually he did. Superman Returns was a disappointment, but eventually the fences were mended and his career recovered.

It has potential, but I would not be shocked if it underperformed. It's going to have competition in the Alice sequel (which could very well flop, though the first one did make way more than any X-film), Angry Birds, Neighbors 2, and even the Turtles sequel. I'm not sure it'll do significantly larger numbers than DoFP, and anything less will put it as a modest success at best (I can't imagine it's a cheaper film, after all).

It depends on what we would consider to be underperforming. I SEE SPIDEY is one of the best box office people on this forum, so I'd certainly be interested in her opinion. But for me personally, given the competition from DC and Marvel and the amount riding on this film, I would consider anything under $900 million worldwide to be a disappointment and anything under $700 million to be a disaster.
Apocalypse is the biggest weapon Fox has left. If they can't get up around or surpass the billion dollar mark with him or at least a big increase over what DOFP earned, Fox is going to have real problems with the franchise moving forward as it probably means the audience is tapped out.
On the whole Fox having a bad year thing...
Looks like Scorch Trials is getting less positive early reception than some anticipated. It's still early, but it's only sitting at 55% on RT. I remember when people told me Fox was so different than they were in 2009, and that a year like that couldn't happen again...
