Fant4stic: Reborn! - - - - - - - Part 41

Now we can close the forum....Willie has spoken.

Lol yeah I don't hate coming here every now and then to dance on this movies grave.
I said this before and I'll say it again: I'm excited to watch this movie one more time. Now that the dust has settled and we have a clear picture of what all happened, I'm going to have a few friends over with a few drinks and have a nice little MST3K viewing experience.

Oh, I'm sure 1 or 2 threads from here will nominated for something as far as the hype awards go....haha They will live in many of the hearts and minds of posters AND the archive... ;)

Why would you do that to friends?

What can I say, we're masochist's lol. Trash cinema can be fun every now and then... with some booze, at least.

I would have to be comatose under the table.... :csad:

Maybe if the Kickstarter does well we'll actually GET a MST3K episode for this film. It's not like Fox can argue it should be worth a ton of money to license out to Joel and crew.

That'd be great. One of my favorite podcasts is "How did this get made", I'm really hoping they do an episode on this one but since all of the hosts work in hollywood they don't usually do new movies because they don't want to burn bridges. Maybe some day.

Well if the entire forum gets archived, at least leave the "keep hope alive" thread active in the general Marvel forum.

Have they done the Honest Trailer video for this yet?

I not sure if it's a good idea to archive the forum.

1. Fox still haven't officially canceled the sequel yet. For all we know, Fox may actually decide to do a sequel which will bomb even harder.

2. There are rumors that one of the unannounced 2020 MCU films is a Fantastic Four reboot. If that's actually happening, it's a good idea to keep the forum open.

Fox probably has decided already, but aren't gonna make that decision public until sometime in 2016. Especially since there decision was likely to abandon the franchise.

True, and keep in mind that as an absolute minimum, if we don't hear anything else, Fox would have to start a new film by about 2021 to be released in 2023.

Six years might seem like a long time to some of the youngsters around here, but to someone who has been waiting as long as I have for a decent FF film, six years is nothing.

Keep in mind this reboot was announced September 1st 2009 and that was more than six years ago.

July 21, 2016 is the date to watch. That's the start of San Diego Comic Con. (I originally thought Marvel would announce something at either Comic-Con or D23, but I just did some quick research and found that D23 seems to only happen on odd years).

I am very optimistic that Marvel will announce something in July 2016 - after people have recovered from this mess.

If this forum gets closed, I'll find a thread in the general forums to rant and anticipate July 2016.:woot:

Yeah, they still have to sell some DVD's...although I'm a little surprised that we haven't seen the DVD out there yet. It could be that they are putting together a director's cut that is like 2% better than the movie version to make a few more bucks. Honestly though, I actually would not be surprised if a DVD was never put out...I mean seriously, can you imagine a DVD with commentary on it? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

The DVD comes out next month. Don't get your hopes up for the "Trank Cut", either. It's pretty barebones. Dragonball Evolution may have had more special features.

:funny: The problem is it wouldn't be honest, but an honest commentary? I'd definitely pay for that.:woot:

An honest commentary track would have to be labeled "exhibit A", and we likely couldn't hear it until the civil suit ends.

So FF made $56 million domestically during the run.

Star Wars made $50 million just in advance tickets.

Star Wars has a few weeks to sell more advance tickets. It will surpass Fant4stic's domestic run before opening night.

A director's cut of FFINO would not be 2% better than it was. Remember this is Trank who made the film. It would be at least 2% worse.

Also, an honest commentary seems like something that could be released if Marvel eventually got back the rights and invited to cast back to laugh at their experience.

I'm hoping we get the news much sooner than that. Maybe late January 2016 (Birthday is coming up :woot:)

One intriguing possibility (highly unlikely but fun to think about) would be an announcement in the form of a Reed Richards or Victor Von Doom cameo either during the Civil War film or in an after credits scene.:woot:

One quote you'd be sure to hear several times would be "This is the first time I'm seeing this movie!"

The commentary:

Kate Mara: I still haven't seen this film. I'm not even seeing it now while commenting on it.

MBJ: You'll still see it anyway.

Miles Teller: I don't think so.

Jamie Bell: What do we call this movie anyhow?

MBJ: How about the thing that nobody wanted?
