Fast & Furious 7 - Part 1

There is a cold place in hell for that person who pretended to be his daughter.

Nah don't start it over from scratch. Best idea is to have him go out while working with Hobbs team. If they HAVE to start over have him be taken out off screen by Statham and his team like how he did Han.

What I'd like to know is how many scenes did he have left and just what kind of scenes they were that its causing such issues where a double can't be used. I really don't want them to start over. I certainly hope it's not because they don't want to make the effort and go through the painstaking task of recreating his presence. I believe that the best way to honor him would be to try and keep the movie as close to the original concept as possible. Maybe remove a few scenes here and there but he needs to be a part of this. :(

Edit: Part of Fast & Furious 6 home video profits are going to Paul Walker's "Reach out worldwide" foundation! Very very impressive gesture on behalf of Universal.

Nice gesture by Universal but I would say putting this funds in a trust for his Daughter would be a good move too.

I'm sure his daughter will be well taken care of.

The family asked the fans to instead of sending gifts to donate to his foundation. I'm sure his parents will take responsibility for the daughter. Still, very unpleasant ordeal this whole situation has been.

The key is to ensure that the franchise’s vast fan base feel that they have an opportunity to grieve Walker’s character without Universal appearing to be overly concerned with commercial considerations.

One crisis management expert suggested that Universal poll fans for their reactions to whether or not the studio should cancel production on the film or move forward as a way of engaging them.

“They have to be respectful and transparent,” the crisis marketing expert said. “They should take a moment before making a decision and they should make people feel like their voices have been heard and that they’ve participated in whatever decision the studio ultimately makes.”

Also very important point:
A friend of the men, Jim Torp, told reporters at the crash site Monday that the Porsche had already been sold, so the men were not going out to be reckless.
“I’m a good friend of theirs and I’m fighting for them because there’s been a lot of speculation about them drag racing, and that did not happen,” he told reporters.
He recalled how the tragedy unfolded, starting from the moment when Walker and Rodas slowly pulled out of the driveway as a charity event was winding down.
After they came back around for another pass and went out of sight, he and another car enthusiast listened to the sounds of the Porsche's exhaust to gauge its speed.
"You could hear the exhaust -- they got on it a little bit -- and I heard two booms," Torp said.
Smoke was visible from Always Evolving Performance Motors, a shop owned by Rodas that is located around the corner from the crash site.

Vin Diesel Thanks Paul Walker Fans For Their Love and Support at Crash Vigil:

Vin's being nice but I think he gives those people too much credit, vultures in my view.

Vin always is very diplomatic. I can't imagine anyone involved who wouldn't get angry at seeing that picture of Tyrese surrounded by those disgusting people.

with Paul's death, i could see the movies shifting to focus more on Dom and his family, as well as the crew.

They were bringing in Lucas Black anyway, so the series could continue with him in the lead.

Has there ever been a movie that had to start all over again, and wouldn't that effect the budget?

Not sure if it's happened before after filming has been well under way, that's an interesting question. And Yes of course it would affect the budget significantly, hence why they are not going to do it.

But Black isn't the main draw of the franchise. It's Deisel and it was Walker. It made both into superstars. They were probably going to continue with them both plus Black. Walker and Diesel were the big draws of the franchise and would have continued to be after 7.

Walker was never going to win any Oscars or receive any accolades for his acting, but his best acting work was in this franchise.

Black as the lead in this franchise....a lot of pressure on him if they continue without Vin or the rest of the main cast.

I hadn't heard that, interesting. Well in that case donate away!!

"Tokyo Drift" was an okay film, but it felt like more of a spinoff than a true sequel. That said, I think Black could do a much better job in the role, if he was given a better script with more believable characterization.

The way I see it, write O'Connor out. Have it so he just settled down with Dom's sister and their kid.

There was talk of a Hobbs spin off coming before Fast 8. It would be a great way to keep the franchise alive while keeping a solid 4-6 year gap for guys like Tyrese to decide if they want to continue with the franchise.

Well, there was the whole Superman Lives debacle. Granted nothing was filmed, but it was pretty far along.

When Cory Monteith from Glee died, they had his character die. It worked there, so it can work in Fast 7.

It's the right thing to do right now. No way in hell were the cast and crew ready to get back to work anytime soon.
