FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

In my opinion, this movie was horrible but that's only because of what they did to Frankie Raye. I'm a huge fan of the character and in the movie.... Guys, they destroyed her. They couldn't even make her a redhead.... The only 2 things that kinda save this movie are Johnny and SS. Chris Evans is Johnny Storm. Me-ow.

unfortunately, i watched the movie the other night. out of all the ppv choices available, there really wasn't much worth seeing and this is the one the wife decided on. bad movie. very, very bad movie.

The movie should've been called, Fantastic Four: Rise of Johnny Storm. I don't believe the Thing actually hit anyone in this film. Dr. Doom steals the board and flies to China? Doesn't he understand the world that he wants to control is about to be destroyed? He creates fancy gadgets but doesn't realize that he can't swim???

I'm sure it's been said enough on these boards. Although I am satisfied with what they did to Galactus. I knew enough of his backstory to see that his spaceship has been turned into a cloud complete with the tentacles that latch into the earth and in the middle stands this omnipotent being. I saw enough of his silhouette to make me happy. Galactus can still be, a physical being in the future movies.

yeah, i just saw it today. i'm not a huge ff fan, but i thought it was okay fro what it was. it's not groundbreaking, but it wasn't catwoman either...

I don't think she was even in the movie enough or enough of a point of the movie for it to matter....

it still made more sense than spidey 3 which says a helluva lot.

Comparing one mistake to another and coming to the conclusion that one is the worst is a very sad task. :csad:

I would rather repeat: restart the franchise, like they did with Hulk, and get it right this time. :hyper:

I finally saw the film and it was defiently better than the first

I thought these movies were performing well with mainstream audiences. I think it's ok and gets the job done . I hope for a better Doom and sequel. There is hope for the future.

What happen with the poll? Anyways, I thought this movie was good for what it was. 7/10

We close the polls after the movie has made its way to DVD....lol

In my opinion, I think the film wasn't the best film, but it wasn't the worst. I actually thought it was a really good movie when I first saw it, and it was a movie I wanted to see over and over again. When I saw it on DVD I realized it wasn't the best movie in the world and it wasn't the worst. So basically, its an OK film. I understand how many people say its really bad due to how some character wasn't exactly how he/she was in the comics, but it really wasn't that bad. I read some of the previous posts and it sounded like the film didn't deserve a chance to be seen, I personally highly disagree. = P

I watched Spidey 3 on DVD last night and changed my mind about it completely. Now I like it a lot. But it was too long for the cinema, and the pacing doesn't suit the cinema either. I had to take a break about 90 minutes into the DVD for a pee, a drink and a general breather...and I did look at my watch (and the DVD clock) a few times. But it is a good movie and the emphasis on character is nice. I think Sam would do a great X-Men movie and a great third FF movie! :woot:

I agree that comparing one movie to another is not a good idea.

But I think it's too early yet to start saying they got the Hulk right. I'm seeing a lot of hate for the look of the Abomination. We just don't know yet how Hulk will turn out.

I thought Spider-Man 3 was okay.

As for Fantastic Four.. well, thank god it was short.

Neat. :bh:

But what I was possibly trying to say without much success is: restart it like Hulk (in spite of the Hulk results). And get it (FF) right this time.

BTW: Abomination is indeed an abomination. Like some deranged ripoff from League of Extr. Gents.

Not sure we'll get a restart at this point.

Realistically, we might get a third movie with a new, edgier director and hopefully new writers. Or they might focus instead on the Silver Surfer spin-off.

I think they were aiming for kiddy movies - or they would never have asked Tim Story to be director; and they wanted a popcorn feel hence the rock music soundtrack rather than the usual classical score. Didn't mind the pop soundtrack, not sure Tim put enough craft into the movies.

To make the comics into something with that popular gritty realism (like Singer's X-Men or Nolan's Batman Begins) takes a lot of vision and reimagining. I never really thought Ioan Gruffudd was authoritative enough for Mr Fantastic and they camped up Dr Doom too much. The movies ended up being forgettable and fluffy. Not enough substance. Not enough attempt to slot these characters into a real-world setting.

This was my experience with Spiderman 3 as well, i didnt think much of it in the cinema (still thought it was good, just not as good as the first 2), but when i watch it on DVD i find it thoroughly enjoyable and i get into the movie a lot more.

Maybe in the cinema the spectacle overshadowed everything else, but on DVD, the quieter character moments come through a lot more.

Didnt think it was too long though, if anything, it was too short, though not as much as FF2.

IT was okay. Not good not bad but it felt like a B-movie. Campy over the top humor with equally over the top special effects, campy and bad acting. But it had entertainment value.

If i am being honest, i wouldnt have re-watched this movie so much if The Silver Surfer wasnt in it. If he wasnt the villain, i doubt i would have watched this movie as much as i have on DVD.

I'm sure they'll get a new one with the same lame team from the previous shameful pieces.

I agree with you it's not a realistically conceived idea to ask for a reboot.

I was just in the wishing well mode. :cwink:

I still give it a 6/10, but like the majority of Fox movies these days, it just could have been SO much more. The only times my interest pique's when i am watching this movie is when the SS is on the screen, and he is hardly in it!

Something just went wrong here, and i have got to say, Chris Evans saying it doesnt look like a 3rd one is being made DOESNT surprise me at all.
