In my opinion, this movie was horrible but that's only because of what they did to Frankie Raye. I'm a huge fan of the character and in the movie.... Guys, they destroyed her. They couldn't even make her a redhead.... The only 2 things that kinda save this movie are Johnny and SS. Chris Evans is Johnny Storm. Me-ow.
it still made more sense than spidey 3 which says a helluva lot.

Comparing one mistake to another and coming to the conclusion that one is the worst is a very sad task.![]()
I would rather repeat: restart the franchise, like they did with Hulk, and get it right this time.![]()
I thought Spider-Man 3 was okay.I watched Spidey 3 on DVD last night and changed my mind about it completely. Now I like it a lot. But it was too long for the cinema, and the pacing doesn't suit the cinema either. I had to take a break about 90 minutes into the DVD for a pee, a drink and a general breather...and I did look at my watch (and the DVD clock) a few times. But it is a good movie and the emphasis on character is nice. I think Sam would do a great X-Men movie and a great third FF movie!t:
I agree that comparing one movie to another is not a good idea.
But I think it's too early yet to start saying they got the Hulk right. I'm seeing a lot of hate for the look of the Abomination. We just don't know yet how Hulk will turn out.
Neat.![]()
But what I was possibly trying to say without much success is: restart it like Hulk (in spite of the Hulk results). And get it (FF) right this time.
BTW: Abomination is indeed an abomination. Like some deranged ripoff from League of Extr. Gents.

Not sure we'll get a restart at this point.
Realistically, we might get a third movie with a new, edgier director and hopefully new writers. Or they might focus instead on the Silver Surfer spin-off.
I think they were aiming for kiddy movies - or they would never have asked Tim Story to be director; and they wanted a popcorn feel hence the rock music soundtrack rather than the usual classical score. Didn't mind the pop soundtrack, not sure Tim put enough craft into the movies.
To make the comics into something with that popular gritty realism (like Singer's X-Men or Nolan's Batman Begins) takes a lot of vision and reimagining. I never really thought Ioan Gruffudd was authoritative enough for Mr Fantastic and they camped up Dr Doom too much. The movies ended up being forgettable and fluffy. Not enough substance. Not enough attempt to slot these characters into a real-world setting.
