Never heard of her or Winter's Bone, but I hope she's a good fit.

Winter's Bone is a new movie which is getting a very good buzz, and is a strong contender to be among the best films of 2010. I ain't seen it, but that's the word on the street.

It's out now in the US.

I've heard that Storm isn't going to be in this movie. If she is, my suggestion would be:

She would fit the age of the X-Men (she's 20) and she's a talented actor. I don't know if they are going for someone around her age or someone a bit older, closer to the ages of Fassbender and McAvoy.

Does anyone know if this film will have a panel at Comic-Con? I haven't heard anything about it so it probably doesn't, but if it did that would be a good place to announce some of the casting for Cyke, Storm, and Jean.

If Storm doesn't make it in I won't be too heartbroken, but Cyclops and Jean need to be in for sure. I would also prefer they don't spend too much time on Jean's super crazy brain (phoenix). They pretty much did it already in X2 and X3. I would prefer if some other muties got their time. I want a strong friendship between Cyke and Beast to be shown. I feel the two of them need a good connection. They missed a big opportunity in X3 (one among many).

I would be seriously puzzled if an X-Men movie is made without Cyclops, Jean, Storm or Wolverine. With the exclusion of Logan, you'd think FOX would demand at least one of the former three be involved. Not saying they aren't. I'm just a little worried at this stage.

We currently have 8 characters in the film. X1 had 11 and X2 had 13. Going by that, we have about 3 slots left. .

those 3 have to be in since Wolverine is out and that's my concern w/this film, since a lot of kids and some adults who wasn't exposed to X-Men became fans but mainly fans of wolverine and I would h8e for this film not to have box office numbers because 1 of those 3 aren't included or Wolverine let's face it when promo material starts to come out that's when people who don't the news like we do are going to realize who's in and who's out and I don't want this franchise to suffer because of a certain character wasn't in "First Class"

Well, while it may focus on Xavier and Magneto, it's still billed as an X-Men film that means the X-Men team, therefore I think at least Cyclops and Jean will be in the film but since those are pretty big characters, they just probably haven't nailed down casting yet.

If the movie is about bringing young grade school aged mutants into the school in the latter half then yeah. The premise has made it sound like this is clearly an Eric vs Charles movie, teaming up, then breaking apart. More than enough to cover without being convoluted with the rest of the X-Men. I am all for seeing those characters, just not in a film like this. Knowing how Fox operates, I am thinking they are going to try to cram everything into one 1:30 minute film, with the X-Men teaming up with the Brotherhood to take down Kevin Bacon, then becoming more like X-2 in terms of individual quarrels and animosities for all mutants involved, ala Pyro/Iceman.

I agree. I can see why Logan would and should be skipped, but not the first three. That would make no sense.

Cyclops and Jean should be in the movie. We know for sure that back in May, Singer was looking for potential actors for Scott and Jean, while he was casting Jack the Giant Killer.

Let's see the X-Men with Xavier and Cyclops. I don't expect Cyclops to automatically be the leader upfront. He'll have to struggle, and its seems apparant with the inclusion of Havok. But he better be showing some leadership skills.

Exactly. For this time period we have Wolverine 2 for Logan to be all on his own anyhow. There is no need for him to be in First Class at all.

hate to say it but without storm this is an all white cast. hm. guess thats why i liked original x-force the most, had some ethnicity, not much but atleast had some latinos. still hoping for an x-force movie

I guarantee you they are pushing to have everyone there for Comicon. Unless they simply cannot find the right person, I bet we will have the full cast make an appearance at Comicon.

Casting announcement from Marvel. Nothing new, unfortunately. But, are they hinting at a Comic Con appearance at the end of the article, or are they just referring to Thor and Captain America?

Just because they won't officially announce someone doesn't mean the reports are not true.Marvel still won't confirm Joss Whedon as Director of the Avengers.It took forever for them to make confirmations on Captain America.And some are still not officially confirmed.
