I gotta admit, I have no idea who this guy is.
Yeah, the picture of those two next to eachother but having opposing ideas is very interesting. I mean their facial features are very much the opposite, yet they do come together for a while, they share different ideals. Which done right could be fantastic. Imagine the first pic released to simply be these two standing side by side just looking out past the frame. Mcavoy's thoughtful face and Levitt's intense one. That would be great stuff right there.
Aaron could play Magneto and with make up to make him look older as the film progress. He does not look 20 anyway. He looks even older than James at 31.

He's 19, and he looks it.
Have you seen Kick-Ass? he looks 16 in that movie, and he hasn't aged all that much since.. He grew some facial hair, big whoop. In no way does he look older than McAvoy, who looks his age.

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and weigh in on this: Me likey.
But I am concerned with how young they are going to cast the X-Men. I wasn't exactly expecting to see the Power Pack on the big screen but we'll see what happens. Perhaps this is a good sign that they are abandoning the prior films' continuity completely.
Kick ass was made in 2008 ! He has matured since. Although he does not look 40, but with make up and great acting, he could pull off teen Erik in concentration camp until mid to late 30's Erik
Well, we know Aaron Johnson (19) and Andrew Garfield (27) auditioned for Jack The Giant Killer and Singer is using that casting process to look for potential actors for Scott and Jean. I would assume that the X-Men will be around that age range, which isn't too young.
The problem with that is that McAvoy can easily play Xavier from about the ages of 25-40. Johnson? I don't think so. He'd make a much better, age appropriate, Scott Summers.
If you look at the picturs of Aaron i posted above then you can see he could pull of 40 y/o person with added grey hair etc.

Yeah, but I understand some of the complaints. I just don't think we know enough to really come down too hard on this..PREEEEEEEEACH!!! So. TRUE! Fanboys are NEVER Satisfied with casting announcements save for few (i.e. Bale as Batman, Stewart as Xavier)..

As hinted in X1 and X2 and shown much more in X3, we've seen that Xavier is not really an ultimate good guy. Sometimes he's had to make some pretty difficult decisions in his pursuit to create a peaceful co-existence and keep the more powerful mutants in check. Showing Xavier as a flawed and somewhat troubled young mutant with an incredible ability will leave the door open to a brand new interpretation of the character..I thought about McAvoy a while back... for Eric. Not sure about this. Doesn't seem like that ultimate good guy, but he can certainly capture Xavier's intelligence. Just figured him as more of a villain.
