Apocalypse Gambit in the Apocalypse Movie

I saw a promo for Jupiter Rising with Tatum in it and he looked and sounded so awful. The thought of him as Gambit just makes me want to cry. :(

I think he looks awesome in Jupiter Rising actually.

Some designs of his character are a little weird, but overall he's good.

He's a big reason why I want to see it. And he looks phenomenal in Foxcatcher.

This would be such a different role for him. I'm not fully convinced, but I'm trying to stay open minded.

Is it just me, or does he usually play a good-hearted or moral character? I'm not sure Gambit's entirely like that. He may wind up being the new Storm of the franchise, which is okay to attract an audience, I guess.

Also, is this what he'd look like?

Sorry, I've never seen a movie with Channing Tatum in it :funny:

I wouldn't be sorry, lol. Feel BLESSED you escaped the horror. :( :p

He's great in both 21 Jump Street movies. Hilarious.

He's also really good in any Steven Soderbergh movie.

We yanked out Haywire after 20 minutes. :(

^ But that's the problem since Gambit doesn't have the straightest moral compass.

Gambit works because he is aloof, yet flirtatious. His whole cajun thing makes him what he is. If the actor playing him can't pull that off then the character is done.

I'm just not so sure that I could hear Tatum say "mon cherie" or "p'tite" or "mon ami" and it will be believeable. If it's not, then done!

I think I'm totally fine with it. I think Singer could pull off an acceptable Gambit from Tatum in Apocalypse.

I would hope, though, that the future would have someone like Johnny Depp, Josh Holloway, or someone else a bit older. To play alongside Rogue, of course.

Ugh, will the Holloway undeserved love just die already. It's never going to happen.

I admit it might be late for that, but I fail to see how it's undeserved. Would you mind explaining that bit?? Otherwise, Josh Holloway 4EVER!

But, like I said before, Singer will probably juice Tatum's talents well :awesome:

In the future (2023) he would be 60, if he's just 20 in 1983.
Tatum has really lose on weight.

I know plenty of people Tatum's size at the age of 21/22

Gambit should be around mid-20's in 1983, based on prior movies/information. That means that in a future movie, using the OT cast, say 2023, he'd be more like 65 years old, and who wants to see that.

The only reason why that would be worthwhile is if they went with the Witness storyline of the X.S.E. with Biship, Shard, Fitzroy, etc. Although I would love to see Selene and Fitzroy as villains in an X-Men movie, and more of Bishop, more time travel stories seem unlikely. Although this storyline would be an easy way to bring Bishop and say Blink (she could be the one to help transport him through time) into the same timeline as the younger, new X-Men. Just imagine a late 1980's or early 1990's movie with Scott, Jean, McAvoy's Prof. X, Hoult's Beast, Ororo, Gambit, Nightcrawler; along with Bishop, Blink and others?

I really have the feeling that the OT cast is done! The fact that they are going with a new, younger cast set in the 80's means that they will likely stay focused there, especially since the extremely popular McAvoy, Fassbender and Lawrence are usable in these earlier set stories. My expectation is there will be a 1990's movie after that, along with some spin-offs that will likely take place in the past. I don't see them using the OT cast again, unless something goes horribly wrong with this Apocalypse movie or until the reboot, which I don't expect to see until say 2024 at the earliest.

While odds are there won't be another OT film There remains question how long hugh Jackman will be playing wolverine which noone knows.

There Is also question If the first Class cast will return following Apocalypse

Inless there Is epilogue at end of Apocalypse In new future Hugh Jackman may be only OT actor we see again in films.Especilly if new solo wolverine film shows Wolverine after the event of Apocalypse.

The entire purpose of the semi-reboot with time travel In DOFP was to continue doing X-Men films. At so the films will be set In past from now on.Now at some point just like MS will have to do at some point Wolverine will be recast.

With magneto and Mystique not in new future at end of DOFP they can get away without them.Xavier,Beast, and wolverine they can't.They have limits placed on them about when they can use Rogue,Iceman,Kitty, and Colossus again.

Now will they try to bring In Characters from DOFP original future in past using the characters can be born earlier excuse.

He really beefed up during these last few years. I don't know, I don't follow him but it kinda surprises me.
