Game of Thrones - HBO part 2 - Part 4

Making the fire green was a nice touch. Made it seem magical.

I was really rooting for Stannis. Actually pretty funny how his men had to pull him away from the fight. So the opposite of Joffrey.

Stannis is not my favorite of the five kings, but at least he has a strong center and believes what he says and means what he does. Joffrey brought this war on his head and doesn't even have the guts to stay at the battlements, much less lead his men into battle.

It's actually a curious episode, because I wonder who people were rooting for. When I read the book, I rooted for the Lannisters because I didn't want Tyrion to die or fail or Sansa to be beheaded (plus I hated Stannis and Melissandre at that point). But after the battle was over and I saw Tywin stroll in like a smug bastard during the ceremony (in the previews for next week) and Joffrey's power only grow, I cried on the inside. ;)

It's interesting because you can root for and against both sides in this episode.

This episode was just more evidence at how well they've humanized each character, making the audience unsure of who they really want to win, and therefore just allowing them to go along for the ride. Incredible job.

It's actually rather rare to have such a battle where you like characters on both sides.

Stannis has done some terrible deeds, but there's little doubt that he's a better, fairer, and certainly saner than Joffrey and his mother. And it's hard not to root for such a badass. On the other hand, Tyrion is the most likable character in the post-Ned show.

I liked that they gave the crazy alchemist guy his moment though. He was the real hero of the battle with his pig ****.

Personally I'm 100% in Stannis' corner. I love Stannis, despite his drawbacks.

I'm a fan of Stannis and Davos and Tyrion. The rest are fodder for the cannons as far as I'm concerned.

Damn this was incredible...

I need gifs of the Hound slicing people in half.

lol who reported me for posting a gif from Avengers?
seriously? ha

really? the movie's been out for a month, if that gif was a spoiler for anyone that's their f***ing problem lol.

looks like final episode is longer then usual. its in a 70 minute timeslot.

64 mins. Taking into account credits and such, it should come in at around 60 mins of actual footage. :awesome:

End of season 4. :o

They are going to split the 3rd book into two seasons.

I'm thinking they may show the scene where Davos gives him the letter towards the end of season 3, before all the bloodshed, maybe in the finale. If not, then it will probably be early season 4 since a lot goes on after that and they can put some AFFC/ADWD stuff at the end of the season, too

Either way, if you like Stannis, I would recommend reading ASOS since it's too good to wait 2 years to see it.

All's I know is I can't get enough of Stannis' badassery. Being drug away from the siege was so goddamn cool, as was the way he stormed Kings Landing. Gets his fleet blown to ****, still leads the charge. Like...A....BOSS

Big spoilers for those avoiding.

I think that we are going to see the Red Wedding in the second to last episode next season, with Joffrey's poisoning to end the season. Which I think means that we aren't going to see Stannis come to the realm's aid before the second half of season 4.

I know right? One of the smart changes from the book. It fit Stannis perfectly.

And to think, some were question Stannis' awesomeness earlier this season. :o

I'm just barely into book 2, so can you tell me how they changed Stannis from book to screen?

Not the characterization. That is spot on and Stephen Dillane has been perfect.

In the book, I am pretty sure Stannis led the attack from the rear, commanding his troops as opposed to being right on the front line.

Oh ok cool. I was worried they had somehow changed the characterization. I love Stannis in the show, I'd be bummed if the book Stannis was in any way different.

Stannis was like Braveheart...He went in first before everyone. I think that is how Robert was too, obviously when he and Ned were in battles at a young age

Nah, that is why I am loving him so much. He is Stannis through and through. All his glory and his warts.

It was definitely a Robert thing to do.

^ Bracing for that in the season finale (its a soundtrack )

Someone hold me back!
