I have to say I have not enjoyed this season as much as the last at all. Jon Snow and Robb Stark were the only 2 characters left that I found much interest in from the 1st season and yet they havent been in this series much, especially Robb.

Tyrion is great, but at the end of the day he is protecting dispicable people. This was even my problem with the Blackwater episode, which, while you could tell Marshall directed it as it was technically very good and looked cinematic. BUT, I didnt care for any of the characters involved, the show hasnt got me interested in Stannis at all, so I didnt care about him, and I really want to see Joffrey and Cersei suffer and die, and they didnt, are we supposed to feel relief at the end when the battle is turned in their favour and they are saved? The only I cared about was Sansa and she didnt even come close to danger. Tyrion, again, I like him but he was defending horrible people so I wanted his side to lose and Bronn wasnt really featured enough as a character I have a mild interest in.

For me, Season 1 was much better and had much more twists and turns in it also. I'm hoping the final episode re-deems this season somewhat.

Not really, again not seen enough of him and he was hardly in the battle.

I think you'll enjoy the next episode. Also (minor spoilers)
season 3 / book 3 is pretty Jon and Robb heavy

I prefer Season 2 immensely to SEason 1. However, I admit it's because I like the individual stories better. Arya has a lot more to do this year than last. As does Tyrion. As does Sansa. As does Theon. Really, the only character I feel who got shafted in S2 was Dany.

The first season does make a more coherent whole I think, because there were fewer subplots. But I think the storylines are immensely more interesting, even if it is a bit overly-convoluted, in S2.

But if your gripe is there aren't enough heroes in this story (your favorite characters being Ned, Robb and Jon kind of indicates that), you better buckle up. This isn't a story about good vs. evil. There are likable and detestable people on both sides and in every house. If you want this to be about the Starks simply slaughtering the Lannisters and going home after a few episodes....that's not this show.

This story asks you to look at all the factions and characters separately and politically. Strict morality ends you where it did Ned Stark. Keep that in mind.

Yeah, I'm sure Tyrion would love to have a magical mistress who birthed shadow babies to commit murder in the darkness of night to win his "honorable stakes" too. Especially if he got to bang her before everytime, as well. :oldrazz:

It wasn't murder, it was execution. Renly defied his brother and his king. He just thought a large army was enough to protect him.

Once again, this is the thread for the TV series, not the books. We have a whole thread for that in the music and books forum. Please go there to discuss the books. From now on, only discuss the TV series in this thread.

Thank you. People who have read the book sometimes go out of their way with posting unnecessary spoilers. And I'm someone who has read them.

For example, you can just say "Bran leaves the crypts" instead of saying "Bran builds a suit of armor and kills all the Ironborn who have taken Winterfell, then flies to King's Landing and rips Joffrey's head off.":im:

i havent read the books but love the show so far its seems the bad guys always win hope it changes in the future.

i guess your right its not good vs evil but wish the starks would catch a break love them.i like tyrion too because he has nobility in him so i dont see him as a bad guy even though he is a lannister.

Tyrion more honorable then Stannis, Davos or Robb, really?

Honor is pretty ambiguous in Westeros. Davos is honorable to being Stannis' right hand man, even though it requires him to do some questionable things. Davos is probably the most morally straight character in the series, because he's an average joe from low, humble beginnings, made a name for himself as a pirate, then decided to serve a budding King as penance for his smuggling. As great as Tyrion is in terms of morality, his past actions come back to bite him in the ass, leading him to make some very difficult, questionable decisions in the near future, (but probably won't see that occur until season 4)

Yes, what Renly did, at least in medieval times would be an offense that carries the death penalty (and a lot of torture leading up to it). Of course, that's using hereditary, monarchial logic.

It's actually fairly rare for a younger brother to claim a title from a living older sibling, since not many people would go along with the pretender, since it causes a huge problem of legitimacy in a system which they also rely on as nobles. And it's complicated by Joffrey, and his siblings. Stannis, Joffrey and Cersei can't go on the Maury Povich show obviously.

Jaqen H'ghar is such a cool character, love his scenes with Arya.

Osha the scrape! cool of the them to help out the Starks

Kat badly effed Robb over, oh that little finger

^ yes!!!!!

Tywin always comes thru. Will Tyrion be punked around now since his padre is back at KL?

^ I always hum the Toreador Song from Carmen when I see those gifs.

Are we still on the subject of prequel episodes? Because I, for one, would love to see the Mad King.

we already have a mad king. joffery lol

makes women beat eachother while he plays with his crossbow.

best line of the season.

1. MOTHER OF DRAGONS!!!!!!!!

just kidding, but my favorite line from the season has to be.

"if you die with a clean sword, ill rape your ****ing corpse."

yup that was awesome

also

“It's hard to put a leash on a dog, once you've put a crown on it's head.”

I liked the exchange,

Varys: In the Summer Isles. They worship a fertility goddess with sixteen teats.
Tyrion: We should sail there immediately.

Bronn: Oh, are we friends now?
Tyrion: Of course we are. Just because I pay you for your services doesn't diminish our friendship.
Bronn: Enhances it, really.

Great delivery.
