Oh, AD/GOT... you make the best mash-ups.

Are Rome and True Blood worth watching while waiting for season 4? I heard Rome was very good and True Blood had some talk a couple of years ago, however not many seem to even discuss it nowadays.

Rome is definitely worth watching if you like GoT. It's a great series, although it suffers a bit in the second season since they knew it would be cancelled afterwards so they put in three planned seasons worth of story into that, although I still found it enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

True Blood is pretty different on most accounts. Not the best series out there but you can certainly check it out to see if it's your cup of tea. I found it better in the early seasons.

Rome, absolutely. It was a great show. True Blood? I still watch it but I can't say I would recommend it. The first couple of seasons are pretty good but it's gone off the rails a while back.

Didn't GRRM say he didn't want a prequel series?

From what I've read, GRRM is down for one. Supposedly in talks with HBO on working that stuff out, with the only question being how far back they go. I think I read that he's thinking 100 years back, but that it's just an idea and that there's alot of ideas on the table now.

Which I think makes sense. GRRM was certainly a big deal before HBO, but clearly hooking up with HBO as been beneficial for both sides. And Game of Thrones has been a huge success, so exploring options to be able to tell more stories in this world has to be extremely tempting and viable.

Robert's rebellion is very interesting to me. Part of it is probably how it's considered within the GoT, like this weird age of heroes...even though it was clearly not that. But, the backstory being as well worked out and fleshed out seems like there are very strong foundations to build a multi-season series out of. Seeing a young version of 'The Silent Wolf' (Ned), and seeing 'The Wild Wolf' (Brandon).

And then there's the chance of seeing Robert running around with a crazy ass helmet, and a giant warhammer. Seeing Robert, dressed in his armor would probably make the entire endeavor worth it.

How close is True Blood to the books it's adapting?

True Blood was quite good in it's first three seasons. Since then the show has gotten quite bad.

I have never read the books, nor do I know anyone that have, but from what I've heard they take quite large liberties with the source material.

That's what I've heard. I think I'd heard that the first season was pretty close, but that's all I remember hearing. And the last few seasons did kinda dip a little, yeah. But last year was actually pretty crazy. I thought the season finale was pretty nuts. A kind of game changer, that I'm not sure they might deliver on. But, still.

It's a fun show, that doesn't really take itself entirely serious. So in that respect, it does sort of scratch and itch I guess. It also seems justified that if Twilight exists...that a version of it with cursing, nudity, violence, gore, and sex scenes exists as well.

Season 4&5 of true blood were nothing like the books, least that's what I hear from pissed off book readers.

I highly recommend people to check out History Channel's Vikings if they crave for more good shows with medieval stuff to it.

I thought Vikings was great. :)

Should i watch Lost? Never watched it but it was basically the previous tv show event, G.R.Martin even said he was going to try to do a different kind of finale than Lost

Yeah i read what they had planed for Season 4 and on, with the rise of Jesus Christ, sounded pretty cool, it's a shame it got cancelled, really have to watch it one of these day.

There's a lot of interesting stuff they could take that would warrant an entire new show about it like Robert's rebelion, Aegon's landing, or even some fo the stuff that happened in the north like the night's king or other stuff from the Age of Heroes. But if they're to make a spin-off it's most likelly to be based around Dunk and Egg.

Utopia is a good show.

The Chilli, Sand, Bleach & Spoon torture scene terrifies me more than anything Ramsay or Joffery has done.

Lost is a mixed bag IMO. I loved the characters but the ending really fell flat for me. Some people love it so it's kind of "to the eye of the beholder" I think.

If you haven't seen The Wire, it's the closest thing to Game of Thrones (story telling wise) that I've seen on TV. It doesn't have Dragons and White Walkers but it's dense, interconnecting, story telling for sure.

Everytime I watch Batman Begins these days I always think the same thing watching that scene: there's ****ing Joffrey. :o

Yeah, its Dunk and Egg least that is what GRRM has said.

I think playing Joffrey may have ruined that kids career.
