Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 1

THERE IS NO NEED TO CONVERT....that's a fact.

Like I said I think pretty much every 3D conversion a studio has done so far has ranged from a few weeks to a month or so in actual time put into it. James Cameron himself has put in OVER A YEAR of work on converting Titanic into a 3D film. I think when that comes out that is gonna be the real test on whether conversion can be worth a damn. I think it is all a matter of the time, money, and effort a studio/director is willing to put into the process.

Just a note, we viewed Ghost Rider at the last bad movie night, and it was the best of the lot. No one expected that. And now that my friends have seen Ghost Rider (the Extended Cut, no less), I can drag them to the sequel knowing that it can't get much worse than it already has. But we'll expect nothing less than the worst movie of 2012 (Worst Movie 2011 went to Rubber, which is why Ghost Rider was so well received that evening).

I think Ghost Rider was really more mediocre than bad, it's not nearly as bad as people say it is imo.

It's worse. I hate that movie. Every single second aside from the cool opening credits, and the brief ride through the desert, is awful.

I was forced to see it 3 times, so that could be why I hate it so much.

It's to me, the worst Marvel film. Easily.

Well it's not that bad in my opinion, different stokes for different folks I guess.

On another note, I still can't wait for the trailer for GR:SOV (I hope it comes out Monday).

I agree, its a terrible movie. I remember being so excited about seeing it after that first trailer with X3. My wife's a huge Nick Cage fan (as am I) & we were stoked about seeing him play The Rider. To make things more intriguing, they had Sam Elliot playing Caretaker & Peter Fonda playing Mephistopheles. But despite that, knowing that Mark Steven Johnson was directing, really concerned me (I hated Daredevil. Both cuts). So I go see the film &...what a complete piece of garbage. What on Earth was Johnson thinking? How did he get that script approved? The worst CBM based on a Marvel character for me is Punisher War Zone, but Ghost Rider comes in at a close 2nd. 3rd place would go to Daredevil & 4th to Elektra.

Punisher War Zone is so awesome....it's like, 90 minutes of people's heads exploding. I loved that flick.

I like my Punisher movies serious & grounded. War Zone was like a Troma movie shot in 2007. It should be illegal.

People should make more movies like that. That's what's missing in this world. Too much serious. Which is why I love Michael Bay. He knows how to make stupid ass redonkulos ****.

Now if he would go back to R Rated flicks, and make some super violent sexed up action movie....i'd explode.

Fact: R-rated action >>>> PG-13 rated action.

But sadly the golden age of R rated fun is gone. Heck, even the next Punisher film will probably be PG-13 since Disney has the rights now.

If the subject matter it's based on is PG-13 though, not so much.

Sometimes but even then a little more R can do wonders. I can't think of a movie example but in video games, there are two Alice games from American McGee. They are M rated (R rating to games) titles with really disturbing visuals and themes (Child abuse and more...!). Not only those games use original Alice in Wonderland themes really well, but also tell a story that's a 100000000 times more engaging, fun and better than recent disaster that Disney made based on the same book (Quality wise of course. Commercially it was the exact opposite, sadly :( ).

Has anyone seen 30 Minutes or Less in a theatre? I'm still hoping that GR2 is attached to that and we could get the online version around monday.

I Agree. For me the excellent visuals alone was worth the price of admission.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however one must be suspect of anyones opinion that does not agree that elektra was the worst cbm. The arguement stops for me when someone says that elektra was better than GR or Daredevil. Debating someone who thinks that would be like bangin your head against a wall.

Nope.

I agree...however...

^ This. I dont think an R-Rated Spider-Man would be too much fun....

But now, PG-13 is getting incredibly violent these days...and by these days I mean from Captain America through Cowboys and Aliens.

Those flicks were pretty bloody.

Still....if your comic book is violent and dark....your movie should be too. (Not saying Ghost Rider is, because I've never read them)

Nope.

Well, let's agree to disagree then, because I think a hard R Spider-man would be insanely fun (I know I'm probably in a minority in that opinion but still :) ).

...and the brief ride through the desert...
I found that to be one of the worst, most wasteful and idiotic scenes in the film.

"I want to fight with you but I can't because I wasted all the last bits of my power to look cool for 10 seconds running across the desert. So you're on your own, sport!"

**** you, Caretaker. **** you.

I don't mind crazy ass films. Most times they can be fun (Hobo With A Shotgun would be my movie of the year had Captain America been so awesome). But I was expecting a more serious Punisher. When I watch it now, after my initial viewing, I don't mind the goofiness of it. But when I first saw it as a sequel to Jane's Punisher, I was seriously disappointed.

Oh yes. It was totally wasteful. But the lead up, the ride....was awesome.

And then it became ******ed. :hehe:

Nope. It was ******ed after Cage's "Let's ride!"

Nope. It was cool to see a flaming horse.

I'm agreeing with you..chill out. :o

It was a cool look, but a **** scene. Could have been saved for, you know, a fight or something. But that would require the movie to have some fight scenes in it.

I have pent up anger I need to release and I can't afford anymore holes in my wall, so this thread gets all of it! Well, this and the wrestling thread. :argh:

Oh, by all means, release it. I hate the movie. Rant away. I'd love to read it...:hehe:

It just looked cool. But the scene after it totally ruined it.

Well, since it came out, I've seen the movie 4 times. And every time I've seen it it just seems to get worse and worse. Cage's acting is atrocious, Mendes is only worth her T n' A. And Blackheart. ****ing Blackheart. I remember asking MSJ how BH was going to look, and if he stayed faithful to the design. I should have know when he PMed me back skirting around the question saying I wouldn't be disappointed, I knew I should have expected to be.

I was hoping to leave the theater feeling fulfilled after seeing the movie I longed for for a decade. But no, I left deflated, and ripping into it with the people I saw it with. I at least walked out of Fantastic Four with a smile on my face.

Great, now I feel like punching something cute.
