The Force Awakens Han Solo Will Return

I just hope they don't make young Han too noble. By the end of the movie he should be the sort of jaded, self-centered, cynical guy who'd let Leia die rather than try and save her (until he finds out "she's rich") and coldly gun down Greedo without a second thought. The Han we first meet in ANH isn't a super-nice guy, and I hope the writers realize that.

Ingruber does a good impression, but it's not enough to take on Solo. His work consists of mostly short films, too. While I think it'd be great to find someone who looks like Ford AND is a great actor, that second one is a must. If any other actor had played Solo, he would've said "I love you" to Leia when being put into carbonite. Whoever it is needs to bring input.

I feel like choosing anyone who's been suggested so far is settling. Disney has the money; they need to put out a widespread search to find the right guy.

If Lucas were handling the Han Solo Anthology, he'll probably try to make him into a hero from the start. Solo has never been a villain, but he was far from a hero and more about making profits and evading the Imperials.

Exactly. Han's never been a bad guy, but he's not entirely a good guy either, at least at first. He's simply streetwise, egotistical, and not at all interested in helping anyone but himself. Chewie is the only friend he'll ever want or need and he doesn't see any reason for that to change. That's the Han I want to see at the end of the anthology movie, not a nice-guy smuggler with the heart of gold who's just a bit sarcastic at times. That's not who Han was for most of ANH, at least in my mind.

Ford's comments on Han Solo, the story, and himself.

I don't know that it's a difference in theme [in comparison to the original trilogy]...it's a development of theme. And it's a natural progression of the [theme] that has occurred from the stories that we told in the first three. And perhaps an emotional rounding of the experience that we all had in the first three films.

Chris Hardwick: Harrison, do you have a thought about where Han might have ended up?

Harrison Ford: No. No it never occurred to think about it because I never expected that it would come back... to bless me rather than haunt me. I was... I never thought that we would do another and it was only, you know I was very gratified when I read the script because I read something that I thought was really remarkable, really well-written, and with some very intriguing developments and so I was delighted to be involved and I was very happy to be part of the story and the cast again.

I just hope they don't make Han too noble too fast. He's not a very nice guy for most of ANH.

They're choosing the right age to tell his story. Good.

Ford on Kimmel tonight (October 29, 2015)

Ford says that "they" don't want him saying anything about the movie. He thinks it's a good thing. Ford wants people to experience the movie in the movie and not from listening to him talk.

As for Luke, Ford says there is a very good reason why Luke is not in the poster. Jokingly, he says that there was no room in the poster for him.

Ford wouldn't say whether he's seen a cut of the entire movie. "Woof" he says. He's in a hot dog costume.

About the movie, Ford says that is really really good. Ford says that you won't be disappointed and the movie is incredible. Says that the new cast is great--Daisy, John, Adam, and Oscar.

Kimmel asking the Han's death question...about the original trilogy.

JK: Are you glad Han wasn't killed off?
HF: Yes.

Bloody hell everytime someone tries to have fun on a talk show they are supposedly drunk.

I don't believe that in general, but come on, the guy's clearly drunk. And I'm not even saying it's a bad thing.

Deadline - Britannia Awards: Spielberg Teases 'Indiana Jones 5' During Harrison Ford Tribute

http://deadline.com/2015/10/britann...-jones-harrison-ford-meryl-streep-1201600196/

Streep and Ford won the evening’s two standing ovations, Ford’s Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution To Entertainment closing the show. His new Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams did the presenting honors and noted the wide range of characters Ford has played — not just Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Beyond the new sci-fi epic that threatens to add another couple of billion dollars to Ford’s worldwide career total of $6 billion, Abrams noted how thrilled he was when his early script Regarding Henry became a Ford movie. There were also taped messages from the likes of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, who of course have been responsible for Ford’s biggest hits.

In his acceptance, Ford was his usual humble, measured self. “I didn’t prepare a speech. I could barely get dressed,” he said. “I thank J.J. and the others for the kind words they said about me. I am indebted to these people for the opportunities they have given me and the wisdom they have in storytelling and humanity, and what I have been allowed to do. I really wanted to be an actor because I could not imagine myself having a real job and I thought it would be nice to live the lives of many other people, to tell stories, to share emotion, and film has given power, grace, imagination and wisdom to things I have had that opportunity to do. I am very grateful for the life I have had…I’m humbled.” I caught up with Abrams, who is clearly the man of the hour as his Star Wars is anticipated to become perhaps the biggest movie of all time when it is released next month. I told him I am anxious to see it, like everyone else. “Well you will be seeing it very soon,” he teased and told me he was just thrilled to have been asked to present to his film’s co-star Ford.

Irish Examiner - Harrison Ford is impressed by footage from new Star Wars film

Speaking on the red carpet at Bafta Los Angeles’s Britannia Awards in Beverly Hills, where he was honoured with the Albert R Broccoli award for worldwide contribution to entertainment, he said: “I saw various scenes as they were developed and I saw a bunch of stuff but I haven’t seen the movie altogether in all its glory with music and all the effects.
“I’m delighted to have worked with a film craftsman like JJ Abrams, I can see all of his intelligence and wit and craft in the movie and it’s really good.”
