The Force Awakens Han Solo Will Return

I knew going in because some ball bag posted it on a damn YouTube comment on a video about ninja turtles....seriously

Though to be fair it was telegraphed pretty easily.

Those are great. I really hope the other guy was in on it. As soon as they mentioned the time and effort it took to make i knew Ford would destroy it. :csad:

Saw it coming, but God damn was that depressing. No funeral, no heroic last stand. Just a father trying one last shot at saving his son.

:csad:

a day later

and still sad that Han died. then i see idiots all over social media posting a screen cap from that scene and it hurts even more. thank you Harrison. he may have not gone out in a heroic badass way or in a blaze of glory like many would have liked, but rather as a loving father trying to win back his son. and that's why i think his death is special despite how bummed out it made me

Ever since I heard that Harrison Ford was coming back for this movie, I had that lingering feeling that what happened was going to happen. And I STILL wasn't ready for it.

Watching Han Solo die absolutely wrecked me. I shed many tears in that movie theater, especially when the movie showed Leia "feeling" his death. God, what a punch in the gut.

Han Solo has been one of my favorite heroes for as long as I can remember. Seeing a character you've loved dearly since childhood being killed off was more devastating that I could have ever anticipated.

I mean, I know it's just a movie, and I'll be fine, but ... Man ... :(

After his death, the whole cinema was essentially silent. The vibe felt so sombre and elegiac even after the credits rolled. There was much applause when the film was over but one of my mates was devastated for the rest of the day.

Maybe it would be changing the rules too much but perhaps Obi Wan Kenobi & Yoda can teach Han how to use the force & come back as a force ghost in the final movie.

When my significant other and I got out of the theater, he told me that I actually reached out to the screen while Han was walking towards Kylo Ren (I didn't realize I had done that); I just knew that moment was going to be the end for Han. And yeah, I still wasn't ready when it happened.

I don't think I've ever lost my composure like that in a movie theater before. I've teared up a bit at a few things I've seen in theaters, but nothing like this. I wasn't sobbing out loud (though I had to focus REALLY hard not to do so), but tears were streaming down my face and I had the hardcore sniffles.

I'm 26 and have been a life long Star Wars fan, and had read the spoilers for this part, and still was not ready. I cannot imagine some of the guys that have been around since '77. I didn't sob, but I was so teary eyed watching it happen. Harrison had pulled me back in with Han all over again, and then just like that he was gone. It was the most emotion a film has dragged out of me in years.

What will become of Chewbacca now that Han is dead? Will he be out to get revenge against Kylo Ren & then be killed off himself, go back home to his home planet, stay & help Leia or simply lose the will to live & die off like Padme in Revenge Of The Sith?

I kinda figured something was going to happen to Han. I don't know why but for whatever reason, I just couldn't see Harrison Ford coming back for another one after TFA...

I kind of hope that he
reunites with Luke, and sticks around for Luke's training of Rey. We need those two to meet again, especially since we aren't going to get another scene between Luke and Han.

my guess

when Han offers Rey a job with him and she was unsure about it, Han said "Chewie really likes you." at the end we see Rey take control of the Falcon w/ Chewie at her side. i think Chewie will stick around and help out Rey

I loved Han's role in this movie, and for some reason I loved how he was the most prominent member of the "old crew" (though I do not doubt that Luke will become much more proactive and important in the next movies).
In regards to what happens ultimately, to be honest, I didn't see it coming until he started talking with Kylo Ren - I didn't know ANY spoilers beforehand and really didn't believe that this film would have the balls to kill off one of the main characters, what's left for someone as iconic and beloved as Han Solo. And while it's sad, I also kinda-sorta celebrate it, because it was brave of them to go that way, and it can be a magnificent catalyst for character development and interactions in the next installments.

It was shocking to see him die, but it was kind of obvious something bad was going to happen as soon as they showed that the confrontation is going to happen on a long narrow bridge. Somebody was going to fall...

There was a lot of talk it would happen....I was hoping it would happen in the 2nd film. Let it build more.

Didn't happen and oh well. I was disappointed in the timing and execution

I liked Han's death scene. especially him using his last bit of strength to show Ben that he still loved him, but it's not heroic or self-sacrificial in any way as had been described. it's still powerful thanks to the acting of Ford and Driver.

What did Han fall into? Was it a reactor core or something? I wondered if some people were going to think he somehow survived, but it seems to me that there's no way that could have happened.

I swear a small amount of people have to be the biggest *******s about this film. I'd read spoilers myself, but a guy came in spamming the major one in a Twitch stream, and a second guy came in and followed the channel I moderate with the name
RIP_Han_Solo_RIP

I kinda knew what was going to happen, but as Han was coming to the bridge, someone loudly whispered "Is this where he dies". Maybe he was just asking the question for himself, but why would you say that out loud in the movie theater?

It was a pointless rip off of the Vader Obi wan scene in the original Star Wars.. And it was for not. It felt like it was done for shock value and didn't advance the character they were trying to advance.. He didn't become a powerful sith after that.. He went on to get his but kicked.. I'm guessing it will be pivotal in character development in the upcoming films, but it was rushed and poorly executed in this film... They could have saved it for a future film and executed it better..

Lot of idiots out there.

It was a pointless rip off ..
I wish it had been saved for the 2nd film. I also think it would have worked better for Kylo Ren to meet Solo once here before the pivotal moment.
