Return of Superman storyline not given the time and attention it deserved in either version of Justice League. That's a whole movie, possibly two, in itself. Just like cramming in Death of Superman and Doomsday in YOUR SECOND FRANCHISE FILM.

If he is not coming back, WB can just recast. Get some other actor to play Superman in same DCEU continuity.

Like how Marvel replaced Ed Norton by Mark Ruffalo, New actor can play Superman in other DCEU movies, similar to how Ruffalo plays Hulk in other MCU movies even though Marvel are not going to give Hulk any more solo films as TIH movie did not do great business.

The latest Dwayne Johnson interview is pretty telling to me.

I’m laughing at the replies to that tweet from people saying stuff like “he’s clearly talking about Josstice League, BoP and WW84!!!!”

uhhhhhhhhhhh, I’m pretty sure he’s referring to something else lol.

I reckon they are holding out to see how the MBJ superman is received, then add that version to the retcon of flashpoint.

However, his hair is very Supermanish right now, that I will say - his hair isn't always that dark, either.

A proper MOS2 where we see him juggle the persona, tip toeing around the office, a different Kent on the beat reporting.. superman being loved by the citizens. Then a threat coming... we all know Cavill can handle that.

It amazes me to think we just skipped over TDOS storyline, imagine Pattison's sequel being knightful, the whole saga, in one movie... nonsense and damn Snyder for thinking he could.

    Telling in what way?

Sure, it's possible, and if that's the case then it's not the end of the world, Superman is bigger than Cavill and any other actor has played him and will play him in he future, to be honest I think that moving on from Cavill could be good for the character, cos Henry, although well liked by most fans, still carries the stench of Snyder's failures, so starting over might not be such a bad idea.
With all that being said, I suspect that we'll be getting alot of Superman over the next decade, before Action no.1 becomes public domain and WB losses exclusivity 2 the character, so don't be surprised if we see lots of Supermen (Cavill included) flying around.

You know things are not looking good for Cavill when Rock, whose ex-wife is a manager/agent for both Rock and Cavill, is clueless about who's going to play Superman in DCEU unless Rock is deliberately being obtuse.

Why recast when you can just use Sasha Calle? I think they'll leave Cavill and Superman in limbo and hope we forget they exist like they did with Routh after Superman Returns

If you're a Superman or Batman fan and haven't jumped off the DCEU ship at this point, you should do it now because WB thinks they can fix their sinking ship without their 2 biggest characters

The DCEU ship sank before it ever really got started and there's no recovery after BvS. It took over 2 decades but the WB finally got the chance to kill Superman on the big screen and it was all so poorly executed that I will never support anything from anyone involved with that disaster. WB doesn't deserve any more chances with Superman as far I'm concerned.

That it sounds like even Dwayne isn't sure of or married to the idea that the Superman he'll be fighting one day has to be Henry.

Oh, they're continuing doing stuff with Superman and Batman. It's just looking like it won't be Cavill or Affleck.

Same. I got two Superman flicks that I like. Many don’t, but I do. I’d love to have something we can all get into though.

Makes me feel that the alternate versions are waiting in the wings... could be Cavill with the original DCEU, could be MBJ if he is retcon or an alternate earth, which means this blackadam won't face off Shazam, he's be honest... from what I am seeing, I don't think this Shazam and this blackadam would work, I feel Shazam! is too light and the stakes won't be high enough.

Or Blackadam is in it's own league, and we see a rebooted universe for that.

So it's DCEU, retconned DCEU, it's own thing.

The MBJ show will be a very good super hero show, I am sure... but to me, it's not superman.

Superman is Clark Kent.. to me. The persona, the red and blue, working at DP, the traits we all know and love.

I can tell myself he is a clone, part clark, part whoever, I can accept that, I can even accept he was a pal and jumped ship the same time... but yeah, he isn't superman...

Just like Batman beyond, whilst a cool concept, it's not batman... heck, it can be an amazing movie and blow me away... and I may get sold, either way... but yeah... we will see.

Totally get you and I agree. For me Clark Kent is Superman, Bruce Wayne is Batman, Peter Parker is Spider-Man, etc.

That is why the Multiverse concept was created, a very simple to use thing that makes life very easy.

FYI, if you want to see Cavill playing medieval Batman, he's basically doing it on The Witcher.

Like he even does detective and forensic work on this show. And I dunno, I do agree Cavill is a good actor but from everything I've seen him in, he was better suited for Bruce Wayne/Batman than Clark Kent/Superman.

IE, Chris Pine would've been better suited for Hal Jordan than Steve Trevor.

That's fine, but I prefer the original concept and one that has lasted decades.

If I'm not mistaken Reynolds is the most bankable of the 3 and one of the most bankable stars in the world, second only to the Rock, so if Superman fans are Ryan Ryenolds then they're not doing too badly.
Also why the heck are Batman fans laughing? Shouldn't they wait and see if the Batman is any good? Just saying.

I think in this case, it's a fair point. I mean The Batman looks great but it could be a disappointment for all we know.

Because even if it does disappoint they'll simply reboot and go again, the characters never going to be in the odd limbo Superman consistently has been in.
