Funny that you say extremists that murder the English language and yet, you don't seem to know "your" from "you're".

Yes he murders it, I find it hard to understand half his posts. Also I am sure I can find a post of yours with errors.

No, I didn't get it.

....

Pay day isn't until tomorrow. :woot:

A few things:

1) a 'majority of reviewers' couldn't have hated it since it has over 50% on rotten tomatoes. That's just math.

2) the context of said reviews is important and having read a fair share of the negative ones, most complained primarily about the time if the film, not its film merits - this is a subjective matter and not really a good indication of a films objective quality. Furthermore most of these review actually have a lot of positive things and fairly high scores (7/10s) yet somehow ended up rotten.

3) people who love this movie have never claimed it to be a masterpiece or devoid of any fault, in fact they are widely acknowledged, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying the film and having this be one of their if not their favorite incarnations of superman.

As a film, IMO it's a pretty damn solid piece of sci-fi, with pacing issues and some weird dialog in places, but a great and refreshing look at something well loved that IMO clearly understands and respects the source. It reminds me of Prometheus in this way. A film I love a lot but is very divisive because it attempts to have a lot of thematic meaning which is not enough to impressive or enjoy for some who get bigger down in the lesser details.

Whether you like it or not is subjective and this is a huge part of your enjoyment of the film because it's neither an amazing or bad film objectively. It's mediocre in its execution, making the subjective enjoyment crucial to your view of it. Personally I find waaaay more positive in MoS than I do negatives and I love that it's finally a depiction I resonate in a human way more than in a mythological way like STM.

Most of the negatives reviews complaints was primarily down to the length of the movie? I think not you do have some good points although it boggles the mind how this can be anyone's favorite incarnation of Superman. Since he only appears to be Superman in name only.

He did save Jenny and Perry...

But yeah....everything is destroyed xD

Would people say that's Iron Man's fanbase is much bigger than Superman's?

Probably. Since the IM movies and Avengers came out, anyways. Hard to know for sure though.

I'd definitely say so. At least Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man has a bigger fanbase.

The info is appreciated. But again, it is rated well on fan rating systems and some people say their group liked it. And I'm not surprised 15 year olds don't like it. I would imagine the audience for this movie is slightly older.
So true.. some are used to pure comedy ...

Regardless of where you stand on the film, this picture is funny:

Yes, most of the city is still standing. And so is Earth. So all in all, Superman did a dandy job on his first official day as a superhero.

Firstly, I am not an extremist. I have and will continue to agree that the movie has flaws. I understand that you haven't seen all my posts, so you may not know that, but it's true. I'm not trying to claim the movie is the best movie ever. My personal opinion is that it's good with lots of room for improvement.

I just don't like when people claim it to an abomination and what you say about the reception isn't even true. You're just saying things that suit your idea of the movie. At least use evidence. There are many people who say it's good to great. Obviously, some think it's horrible as well. Even on this board, do you really think there are only 2 of us that like it? There aren't even that many posting here at the moment, so how do you know? I could list others that like it, but they can speak for themselves, so I won't. To be honest, i think people who like it stay away from negativity. The way you speak like your opinion is fact is what bothers me, not that you didn't like the movie. If you just said "I don't like it" I would have nothing to rebuke.

is like he's trying to convince us that his opinion an the many of some haters was the GA opinion which was mixed yeah but the majority liked it and many loved it of course accepting its flaws, but saying that if it doesn't make 1 billion is not enought for A REBOOT AND AN ORIGIN MOVIE is pure NOSENSE!!!
I guess his mission is not working... :woot:

THAT WAS THE POINT

Before or after Joss Whedon made Marvel super viable.
To this day I wonder how IM3 would have done had it simply followed IM2.

Wow, some people have some sort of defence complex. It's a joke.

Like how in The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce has a big emotional bust up with Alfred and tells him to leave forever. As soon as the doorbell rings he's calling for Alfred to answer it.

I didn't talk about length once in that post?

Superman means different things to different people. This movie treats him as a person, not as a metaphor for perfection as many seem to. He's a young man thrust into extraordinary circumstances and incompletely related to him as a character.

There's a great article comparing peoples views of superman to people's view of Jesus where they don't treat him as a person but rather as some idealized manifestation they are projecting onto they characters. Roach and a few other people have posted that great quote about people's projections into the character, can one of you guys who know what I'm talking about repost that here?

I'm sorry, you spend most of your time trashing MOS. I can't always tell your humor from more complaining. :woot:

Yeah that's why many peoples expectations were not fullfied and not giving a chance even if the movie was pretty good :woot:

I don't trash Man of Steel, it just wasn't as good as I was expecting.

The repetitive negative comments and sometimes scathing critiques of every little detail in MOS would generally fall under trashing. Sorry. I don't think you mean to be that way, but it's kind of how I view most of your posts. But I still like you. :woot:
