Then it's not really about Vaughn then, is it?

And as for Millar... Other than RED SON what else has he written of Superman that is highly praised? I happen to love RED SON, but it far from makes me think that Millar is the guy to write a Superman film for the wide movie going audience.

I also wouldn't trust him with this sort of thing after his attempt at Batman.

Oh come on. You know you wanted to see Bruce running around fighting crime in a hockey mask and a cape. :woot:

RED SON convinced me that Millar can write a gritty take on Superman which is the DCEU approach.

Come to think of it Mark millar and Brad bird will be an excellent duo for.a Superman movie

If Brad Bird comes on board to do Superman, let it do it his way. Bright and hopeful.

Yep.Brad bird might actually be able to create the glorious sequel Supermsn deserves.Supetmans"Dark knight".If you will

So which is it... Dark and gritty or bright and glorious? And when I think of Millar's work in comics bright and glorious don't really come to mind.

Brad Bird would be welcome but I would say the House Of Mouse has the inside track there.

I'd much rather see the latter.

Exactly. That's why I think Millar and Bird don't really mesh.

Depending on how Pan does, I could see WB eyeing Joe Wright for the Superman solo.

How about gritty and bright? Britty? Gright? Or Dark and Glorious? Glark? Dolrious? :)

Blurple, anyone? ;)

Bright,glorious yet gritty and epic.

Basically LOTR tone

So how about that Henry Cavill and talking about his nether regions.

I've just realised with Relativity Media filing for bankruptcy and they produced Immortals and were writing a script for Immortals 2 that it's possible that's been cancelled.

/waits for sf2 to drop by and accuse Henry's hair of causing Relativity to go bankrupt.

now that i think about it, it is amazing how a lot of highly talented unknown actors that have been on the radars of a lot of talent agency's finally got there major big break playng an iconic superhero, like Henry Cavill with superman and Chris Hemsworth with thor, in fact here's hoping that henry stars in a lot of future big Hollywood films and makes a global name for himself for he is highly talented

in fact here's hoping that he's the next bond after Daniel Craig simply so i can make the running joke

"Henry Cavill: superhero boy-scout by day, playboy super spy by night" :p

Years ago, Millar pitched a Superman trilogy to WB...They said no.

They also said no to Grant Morrison.

Take that, Bruce Wayne.

Burton and Singer had major high profile CBM successes. Include that in your pondering.

I really like Aronofsky but I have to agree with all of you that he's just wrong for superman.

Snyder is just as wrong, but Aronofsky would have probably worked his way into a better script. I doubt that in the current context, post Marvel's success, post-TDK, the studio would have allowed him the same liberties that he was gonna take with Batman back in the early 2000s.

I know lots of people here don't like the idea of Vaughn on superman but I for one would kill to see it happen

"Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me." is what Vaughn said about the character and him teaming up with Mark millar (superman red son) would likely have been amazing.

I like Millar's Superman stuff and anyone who won't shut up about how much they love the character fits right in, imo. But some stuff about his take did sound weird. A John Cena type as Superman, his perception of humans as apes. That and more, from what I remember. It might sound better in context. I keep hoping he talks more about it in interviews.
