Looks are an important part of the role.

I'm sure that we will see more acting comments in here when man from uncle comes out.

I'm totally fine for talking about the actors looks, but that's not what's going on here. It's completely perverted and excessively inappropriate talk about what they would like Cavill to do them, how he makes them "moist", or how he's their god. It's out of control.

Who are you and what is up with your eyebrow movements?

They have a facebok page! :wow: :hrt:

About Ben Affleck, I totally agree with the fact he's not as handsome as Henry.
That's why I could not figure someone else than Bomer as Batman. :hrt:

Bomer looks just like Cavill. Batman shouldn't look like Superman.

Ben has that man's man rugged look.

^Since WHEN dies it matter?
Brown hair, blue eyes...c'mon! They have been imagined to appear like brothers!
Even in an anime, they look alike!
Would be interesting, Batman would be the "superman born in Earth"

I didn't find Bruce sexy when he was played by Bale, I have no idea why. Does it say something about me if I did find Val Kilmet sexy as Bruce/Batman. If Ben looks like he does in these just posted pix, then Batman is definitely going to have the sex appeal thing going for the character, not sure about the dark thing though.

Totally agree. Anyway, I think Ben can do the dark side.

That's kinda the thing that scares me about Affleck, is he going to be able to give Batman the kind of edge he should have? I just can't see it right now. Maybe Snyder will be able to pull something out of him that I haven't seen from him before.

Eh, Val Kilmer is my favorite live action Batman and I found him to be the sexiest Batman/Bruce as well. Bale is hot to me though.

Yeah!!!!!! Thought I was the one! Thanks! :hrt:
Val Kilmer is SOOOO sexy I bought the VHS :hrt:7Nicole was very sexy int his movie too...

In his prime, Val Kilmer was dating Cindy Crawford.

Now?

Oh, Iceman how fat you've gotten!

Well we have never really had an actor emote the darkness Batman/Bruce Wayne should have. A lot of people will disagree with me but Nolan's Batman didnt do the character justice. The only good thing about Nolan's Batman was that it made Batman relevant again and for that I am grateful to Nolan but overall that wasn't the Batman I wanted to see.

Are you referring to darkness that he has in the comics? I think Michael Keaton gave off a good dark dangerous appeal, but I am only basing my opinions on the movies and JL and JLU cartoons not comic books. How much darker is he supposed to be?
This discussion of dark personalities brings me back to the complaints a out MOS, Clark was definitely not dark. He was silent, contemplative, and introverted but not dark. I think it fits with the Superman in the real world aspect the film was going for.

With the creation of a separate Henry Cavill Appreciation Thread, I look forward to (or hope for) a more elevated level of discussion in this thread.

It's part of the general dialogue. It's not different than some of the comments in the Amy Adams thread.

This is also a large part of the reason Henry Cavill was hired, let's be honest.

If you want to discuss something else though, raise an issue.

I never posted what I would like him to do to me, and honestly I think it should remains private :p

But open your eyes, the guy is handsome -like no one. He's one of (if not THE) the most handsome guys ever. I see these kind of comments approaching long time before MOS came out. But it's a part of the coolness of this thread (I think).
Actors, and the effects they have on us, lucky spectators! :)

I don't find these comments are so terrible or offensive. It's ok.
Better than just saying "he's beautiful" 100 times... it's more...explicit :D and funny, yeah. I like reading them :D

Curious....

Out of all of the known Live action versions of Superman/Clark Kent that we've seen so far, which one would you say had the hardest upbringing and journey, based on what you saw, towards becoming "Superman" between these choices?

1. Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent
2. Dean Cain's Clark Kent
3. Tom Welling's Clark Kent
4. Henry Cavil's Clark Kent

This isn't based on what we thought of their performances but more about the back story and history that each character has within their respective canons.

Note: I didn't include Routh since his back story as Superman is essentially the same as Reeve's.

Tom Welling's Clark had the hardest upbringing, he fought a monster every week and he couldn't tell Lana his secret.

LOL! You have a point there.

Cavill's. Based on the flashbacks, his life sucked.

Cavill
Welling
Reeve
Dean(from what I remember he had a good childhood)

I think cavill's Clark had a pretty rough time. And I doubt it's gonna get much better since batman will be using him as a punching bag soon enough.

Now, I'll admit I'm not exactly optimistic about how Cav-el's going to be treated in comparison to Batfleck, but don't you think you're being a tad too dramatic about this?

Maybe. Maybe I'm just cranky today.

Definitely. He had the powers everyone wanted, but not the happiest of times with them.

Saving the bully on the bus is what he hopes to achieve. The sneering naysayer who completely changes their behaviour in the direction of good. Now he has a suit and alter-ego, he will be able to do so on a grand scale without the whole song and dance he went through as a kid.

Smallville's Clark had some problems but I feel a lot of them were his own fault.

I'd say probably Welling. He was bullied, lost all his friends around him, his best friend became his worst enemy, he lost the girl he loved, Jor-El made him inadvertantly kill his father, he died a couple times, fought teo Zods, Doomsday, Bizarro, Ultraman and Darkseid.

The bully on the bus was Pete Ross, and the movie shows they became friends after.

That's what he/she was saying. Clark saved a bully, Pete, who then 'reformed'. Now as Superman, he wants to achieve that on a grand scale.

As for which Clark had the most messed up childhood... Yeah, definitely the MoS version. That was just depressing. I know what they were doing and it works fine... I personally just don't think Superman's childhood should be like that at all.

Tom Welling's Clark was soooo bullied and lived so many sad events! :(
I liked the way a girl discovered his powers because they were blocked in an elevator and he had to save themselves.

We can be sure THIS Clark is not virgin :p The girl was revealed to possess some powers too... And the, she was killed...
Lana Lang couldn't even approach Clark at the end...

I dislike the fact Clark dated two cousins...though I do not remember if he has ever been with Chloe or if she had just a crush on him.
