My idea of Superman isn't Roswell mixed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That's just me though.
And surprisingly for Smallville to be show about Clark Kent it had arguably the worst Clark Kent ever.
Smallville did not have the best Lois, Lois and Clark had the best Lois.
This.
As well as Lex IMO.
Agreed on all of this. L&C's Lex was hammy for sure, but they got the essence of him so right, that I didn't care.

Smallville's Lex topped any we've seen on film so far, so... :o

Don't let your confused feelings for Rosenbaum blind you to the truth. :o

one of my favorite moments from Lois and Clark

Poor Dean Cain. With that voice, he never even stood a chance at being a good Superman. Damned if I didn't love his Clark Kent, though. But yes, aside from his terrible Superman, I do love that moment.

Ladies.... Enjoy (;

I'm just going to post what you gay Hypesters have wanted to say since his first shirtless pics, [BLACKOUT]'I'd tiddy-tap him'[/BLACKOUT]. :p

Lex: Wait a second. I only confessed to two people that I love having the city 'Looking up at me'... OH MY GOD!

LOIS LANE IS SUPERMAN!

Good gracious 20+years and I never noticed his voice. Oh poor thing. But when he took his shirt off it made up for his high voice.

Hearing Dean Cain in that clip really drove home how important Superman's voice is. I haven't watched that show in years, so I was a little shocked at how high his voice sounded there. Guess I've grown accustomed to the deeper voices of all the other Superman actors.

For what it's worth, I thought Tom Welling played a great high school Clark, but clearly he was cast more for his looks than his acting ability. Michael Rosenbaum remains the best live-action interpretation of Lex Luthor to date. Where the Kents are concerned, Smallville just edges out Man of Steel for the best version IMO, but I think that's largely because I was able to see more of Jonathan Schneider and Annette O'Toole. In a lot of ways they were the heart and soul of that show.

Returning to the subject of Henry Cavill, does anyone know if he's done filming Man From U.N.C.L.E. yet?

As far as I know, it's still filming and Cavill is still in London.

And Superman's voice is really important. I just can't picture him with a high voice. It doesn't fit with a commanding presence. Cavill's voice is one of my favorite things about his Superman.

....I KNEW IT!!.....That's how she always gets out of those life and death situations without a scratch on her :funny:

I have never thought about the importance of Superman's voice, I mean he can't sound like David Beckham for sure.
And after SR I realized its important that the actor not have lady thighs in the suit; but now I see the voice is important. But Dean's Superman wasn't the best for a lot of other reasons besides his voice.

lois as superman is one of the funniest and awkward twist ever on this thread! :D

Probably the more a job for Larry Fong, but I'd really appreciate it if Superman didn't look twilight pale in the next film.

I couldn't agree more with Cavill's voice. Not only is he ideal for the Superman look that I always pictured, but his voice is even BETTER IMO and thatsays a lot. In fact, I loved MOS, which has quickly become my favorite movie and one of those reasons is how Superman sounds. Cavill brings what is needed to that element. If we ever get JL, you better damn believe that when Superman talks, everybody listens, which is the way it should be and Cavill certainly has "it."

I agreel. Henry Cavill's performance and physical perfection for the role was among the top highlights of MOS.

The more I watch this movie, the more I amazed I am by how much Cavill embodied Superman. He's not the best actor, but there are times when he looks like he stepped of the pages of a comic. It's really uncanny.

My worry is how is his Clark? We only a got a glimpse so I'm hoping we get a good mixture of both Clark and Superman in MOS2w/Batman.

My worry is how he looks in a suit and work clothes. He's so huge.

I liked how they handled Clark in All Star Superman where he wore clothes that were too big so he looked a little pudgy with Luthor even commenting that if Clark hit the gym he'd be able to transform his pudge into a physique that rivaled Superman.

Don't know if that would work with Cavill. Noone would believe he has an ounce of face looking at his chiseled face.

In that last shot when he's at the DP it looked they went that route. The suit he is wearing seems really ill-fitting, so I think they will stick with that.

That's funny about All-Star...I forgot that Luthor comment.

If you can go back and look at that last shot, you can see how the shoulders and stuff seem kinda of droopy...like the blazer he is wearing is a bit large.
