Don't even get me started on that awful print campaign. At first I hated when people brought it up but I do think that WB was afraid of the reaction to the suit because it didn't have trunks. And that's ******ed because the suit is awesome.

I think Bruce Wayne is actually supposed to be the sexier, darker, more attractive man while Clark has always been the handsome boy scout.

Well, that was an unnecessarily catty and rude comment.

But to address your point about Batman... While I agree that the character of Batman is supposed to have a sexier edge than Superman, that's not going to be the case in this upcoming movie. Henry Cavill is one of, if not the, most beautiful men on this planet. Ben Affleck's handsome, but not really all that striking, and can't ever hope to compete with Greek god-incarnate HC.

I didn't find Bruce sexy when he was played by Bale, I have no idea why. Does it say something about me if I did find Val Kilmet sexy as Bruce/Batman. If Ben looks like he does in these just posted pix, then Batman is definitely going to have the sex appeal thing going for the character, not sure about the dark thing though.

That's kinda the thing that scares me about Affleck, is he going to be able to give Batman the kind of edge he should have? I just can't see it right now. Maybe Snyder will be able to pull something out of him that I haven't seen from him before.

Sorry if that came as rude, I was actually trying to sound lighthearted and poke fun at the thread.

And I do think that considering that this thread is just lusting over Cavill, its actually relevant to the movie to see how the co-stars match up, especially since it seems to be reversed in reality, with Superman being more attractive than Batman. Seems to me like its something worth discussing.

I don't often post in the thread precisely because the discussion does not seem centred on Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman, but rather his appearance.

Honestly I've already said all that I needed to say about Cavill's performance. I think he was perfectly cast and did a great job with the material given to him. Is he DDL as an actor? No and he doesn't have to be. I thought his American accent was not perfect but impressive. I thought his was a quiet, subtle and soulful performance and I thought he gave Superman back a manliness that he has been lacking since Reeve hung up the cape.

Looks wise, I feel he is pitch perfect despite being shorter than previous Supermen. I think he has an open trusting face, an adorable kind smile and eyes which aids in his portrayal of an open and kind character and yet he doesn't look like a wuss, he can throw down if need be.

I will continue chatting about his looks because I find him sexually attractive, as I have many men since I was 12 years old,...but in the new Appreciation thread in the Celeb section because I'm as tired of the whining as you guys are of me lusting after Cavill.

Well we have never really had an actor emote the darkness Batman/Bruce Wayne should have. A lot of people will disagree with me but Nolan's Batman didnt do the character justice. The only good thing about Nolan's Batman was that it made Batman relevant again and for that I am grateful to Nolan but overall that wasn't the Batman I wanted to see.
