One poster in another thread something about Idris Elba not being a suitable choice for a John Stewart Green Lantern because he has far superior screen presence and gravitas than Cavill, and it would seem out of place for Cavill to command him or be his leader.
While I don't completely agree, I can see where that poster is coming from. But we just saw a rookie Superman, one who was thrown into this situation and at times looked lost. He was basically the definition of a rookie, but he did have glimpses of the commanding, leader Superman as well.
My favorite instances of this were when he says "Don't play games with me, general." while floating above. That to me was EXACTLY spot on for a Superman who can lead the likes of Batman, GL, WW etc, all of whom are strong alpha males (female WW) in their own right.
Thoughts? I think Cavill has what it takes to bring that screen presence as we see this Superman grow into his role.
