Well some of the examples that I'm talking about are like how he was written in "Smallville" in terms of how he handled his relationships with women prior to Lois.

Lois knows his secret. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

And then there's the whole "Memory Wipe" thing from Superman II and IV, along with how he was written in Superman: Unbound, where he refused to let Lois tell people that they were an item and treated their relationship like a government secret.

Who was she dating at the time? Clark, Superman, or both? Because if she was dating Superman, and Clark was only her coworker, then yeah, he was right to tell her to keep that information to herself.

She knew that Clark was Superman and vice versa in "Superman:Unbound". She actually pointed out that Clark's whole logic for keeping their relationship a secret was really flawed because Clark made this whole excuse on how if the world found out that Superman and Lois were an item, then she'd be in danger. Lois retorted back and said that dating "Clark Kent" doesn't make that any less dangerous for her and she also mentioned on how if danger doesn't find her then she finds it.

Which reminds me, in "Superman: Doomsday" they were also lovers and in a relationship there. However, in that film, Superman didn't tell Lois that he was Clark. However, Lois already knew and was waiting for him to tell her but he made up the same excuse. However, yet again, Lois mentioned that a lot of people already knew that Lois and Superman were "close".

Don't see this happening.

Huh. That's weird.

Well, Lois and Clark are living together in DOJ. I doubt that their relationship is a secret.

He looks great in this pics, especially the first one. Very supermanly.

They got Clark's wardrobe exactly right too.

Not a fan of this. He looks...rather sinister and somewhat zombie-esque.

he does. wonder why do they pick this pic. n bad wording placement

Ok, I see. However, everything you mention there was to keep her safe. Protecting her. Also that's the same story for every superhero in a relationship with a non superhero/ civilian. Why would it be important for everyone to know that they are an item? Status? What should be important is how they feel about each other, ya know.

They jumped the gun on that. No inbetween story between the kiss in MOS and them now living together.

WB dropped MOS2 for BvS but that meant no screen time to develop Lois and Clark. Better they were not an established item in DOJ but co=workers.

Because the whole "Keeping you away to protect you" excuse is cliche and a very flawed concept. In order for that concept to work, you would have to take out ALL of the ones that you cared about, not just your romantic partners, from the equation and isolate yourself entirely from them. Even if Clark isn't dating Lois, there's Jimmy Olsen to consider, along with his Mom back at Smallville.

Plus, the reason why Lois wanted to reveal to everyone that they were an item was because she wanted to do "normal" things with Clark. But since clark wanted their status to be very secretive, they would only display their affection and meet each other at their place...meaning most likely that they never went out on public dates.

Something like the one used for "Man of Steel" would have been MUCH better imho...

Tgis would have been so much better.

The current photo is weird. One of the photos in the article makes Superman look really old. Another bad phoyo.

Bats has yet to have a bad image released.

That aside, aside from the Empire images, the Superman photos have been pretty good.

I can't believe that Empire cover is real, it is just atrocious in every way possible.

Batman has had more than his share of lackluster photos. Superman, for the most part, has looked fine.

But that's the thing. There's no such thing as "normal" dating Superman. Let alone any superhero. But if it makes you feel better there have been plenty of stories where they've gone on public dates. Mostly in the comics. And Lois has to understand she is with the mightiest most in demand superhero in the world. There's no normal dating him. And not making their relationship public is not cliche at all. It's necessary. I would do it. Any person that lives in that much danger would. And he spends even less time with Jimmy or his mom, that's in any iteration. So they all get the same care.

So far, these have been my favorite Promotional Shots of Superman, released for this film....

I like dark and grit to my Superman but he should be standing proudly in those circumstances.

That Empire pose is just ugly. Very stupid.

I think there's something painfully obvious going on with Superman in the new Empire pic. It looks classic Bizarro to me and I don't think they managed to screw that up. He looks distorted and it match's up with the awkward behavior shown in the trailers we've seen. The colors are muted and darker than normal, giving off a pale, flesh look. Come on, guys. Something is going to be going on with Supes here.

This! No matter if people argue the bizarro theory they can't deny there's something very off going on here.

Mentioned it in the All Things thread but, I just think it's what happens to him when Kryptonite gets to him.

I'm perfectly fine with it; honestly, it sometimes feels like most superhero writers have an addiction to convoluted and boring as hell replays of the same romantic subplots.

Plus I'm from the 90's; to me, Lois Lane is a red head who knows Superman's secret, has his heart and vice-versa, and she stands on her own outside of the love plot. I loved that about MOS and I think I'm going to love it here.

All that "loves my secret identity but not me" hogwash can go jump off a cliff and die in my opinion. And it can be followed by the "I can't have relationships because people will target you, but I'm going to keep angst int about it and having eye-sex with you" cliche as well.

Possible. But I want to see real Superman, bit of a nice guy, in the film too. Not the "off" Superman in most of the clips so far. I want to see this supposed nice guy Supes Cavill mentioned in Empire.

I read Cavill's quote, but were they talking about BvS or Justice League? He could be referencing the character development and what they have in store for Supes at anytime.

Well I can definitely understand that it's not normal dating someone like Superman, but I feel like there are better ways that they could approach some things.

It's one thing if Lois was dating just the persona of Superman, with the latter not wanting to make their relationship public. But another thing on her dating the persona of Clark Kent and the latter not wanting to do some normal things with her.

It just feels like he wants to have almost everything go his way when he's written like that.

I assume he was talking BvS. I hope so. The stoic brooding Superman of MOS proved polarizing and making that his nature in DOJ would be a huge mistake IMO. Snyder needs to lighten the character a bit. Make him a nicer guy a la CA. And in this film. Not in JL.

Hmmm... Wants everything to go his way? Forgive but this sounds more personal than fictional. ¿Yes? Supes has never been that kind of character.
