Snyder has said that WB told him they were very happy with MoS, the total sales including Blu-ray etc were phenomenal, so they knew that people were starting to get on board. WB gave him the green light to do a follow up his way. While story boarding they had the idea to finish a Superman and Lex based movie with kryptonite being delivered to Wayne Manor. That spawned BvS and WB green lit it. Yu

i could be wrong... but i remember that they said they were not gonna use Kryptonite... as it was used abusively... (cough... smallville... cough...)

was there a 1st draft / a treatment of MOS 2 solo???

He should be as massive as he can naturally be. He's playing a character who is the embodiment of strength, so anything Cavill can do to project power enhances the illusion.

He was 10kg heavier in BvS compared to MoS at 6% body fat (same as MoS). In MoS they had him shred down a bit for the oil rig scene after filming the other scenes first where he was bigger to fill out more in the suit. The attention to detail is crazy.

Cavill has to be as jacked as possible for these movies, especially in JL. He's starring opposite behemoths as momoa, Affleck, Fisher etc. Cavill has neither the height or natural braud shouldered...ness of the other actors.

It was imperative that the lead actor look the part since he had to be established as Superman without the benefit of his costume. Cavill certainly nailed it, didn't he?

That's another good point. There would be something inherently wrong with Superman looking smaller than his JL counterparts.

On another note; I remember on how a lot of people here used to say on how the theatrical cut felt more like a Batman film than a Batman/Superman film, due to a lot of Superman's scenes having been cut from the film.

Yes. It feels more balanced in the UC. Which I like.
