These pics make me want to see Cavill play a serial killer.

Is it strange that I associate wearing an apron with butchering a person to death?

Was Miranda Otto the female lead? Did she win awards? It's a poor comparison.

Miranda Otto: 1.6 million google hits

Freida Pinto: 7.9 million google hits

Does Otto have as much publicity as this:

"Pinto is featured in People magazine's "Most Beautiful People List",[18] and "List of World's Best Dressed Women".[19] She was also featured in the "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" poll conducted by Askmen.com in 2010.[20] According to The Daily Telegraph, she is currently the highest paid Indian actress (she does not count as a Bollywood star as she never appeared in a Bollywood film).[21] She has also been listed in the top ten list of the fashion magazine Vogue's 2009 annual list of the most stylish women.[22] On 13 May 2009, Pinto became a new spokesmodel for L'Oréal.[23] Near the end of 2010, Pinto was ranked #6 in TC Candler's list of "Most Beautiful Faces".[24]" - Wikipedia entry for Freida Pinto
Here's how it really breaks down:

Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock bring in an audience.

Frieda Pinto and Mirando Otto do not.

Conversation over...now back to Superman.

Just to add to that, she does also have a BAFTA.

More people probably know her name than they know Mirando Otto, that's true.

But I don't think she has a huge fanbase that will go and see the movie just because they've seen her in a couple of films.

Recognising her face won't have much of an impact on that decision IMO.

Henry Cavill on the other hand, will have an impact on whether some fanboys see the film, or anyone who is curious to see what the new Superman's film is like.

And he's not a household name yet.

No and neither was Pinto. Both were supporting actresses in big grossing movies. Your logic is "Those movies were successful and she was in them so everyone knows who she is!"

Google hits doesn't equal box office. That is a poor comparison. Just ask Jessica Biel who was one of the most looked up celebs last year or a movie like Scott Pilgrim that got non-stop Internet press and nobody went to see it.

Exactly. Although I'd slightly tweak that to include Angelina Jolie.

I'm not sure how much Angelina Jolie can really bring in an audience anymore.

If it's an action movie, people show up strangely enough. If it's a drama, it's tumble-weeds at the cinema-house. But she's relied more on the former for that reason.

You do have a point man.

I'd say Meryl Streep has the most under-rated box-office credibility and Jennifer Aniston the most over-rated.

People think Jennifer Aniston has alot of box office credibility?

With so many pictures appearing of Henry as Clark without the glasses, anyone else wondering on how the heck they plan on concealing Clark's identity now from the public?

It is starting to worry me...

I swear there are no glasses, if it's some kind of mind warp thing where he doesn't have a disguise as such but people never notice cause the suit has disgusing powers, I will not see this movie.

I mean it! :cmad:

The worst case scenarios would be:

1. They take the Iron Man approach and have Clark reveal to the world that he's Superman

2. Have Clark abandon the "Clark Kent" identity and stay Superman 24/7

I'm sure it's simply that he doesn't have a public identity as Clark just yet, there was a report a couple months ago that we wouldn't see much Daily Planet Clark in this movie, so that would make sense.

Maybe he won't wear glasses at-all. I mean we haven't had one picture with them at-all.

Maybe it's their way of being 'different.'

Hell, they're making so many changes to this film they may as well call Superman something else.

Perhaps, but what about the case involving Smallville's inhabitants? I mean unless Clark was home schooled his entire life and never had much interaction with any of the town's people, I don't see on how they wouldn't know that clark is Superman once they see him on the news.

That's a problem that's existed in the comics as well.

I have no problem with him not wearing glasses in Smallville... people grow up and look different, and all that jazz :p yes, it's a stretch, but one i'm prepared to make.

But it's seeing him riding a bike around Metropolis, and walking around Alaska where Lois also happens to be, that has me worried.

And seriously, I made a pact with myself not to see this film if he isn't wearing glasses at some point. I'll accept a lot of things... but I won't accept that.

I'd also be mega dissapointed if Lois discovers Clark in Smallville or Alaska and is therefore in on the secret identity before he even becomes Superman... because it means no Clark - Lois - Superman triangle :(

I would be very, very disappointed in that, too. That's one of the greatest aspects of the Superman story, IMO: Clark loves Lois, Lois loves Superman, but is dismissive of Clark. Even though I appreciated some of the things they did with the relationship on Smallville, I don't think their version of the love triangle (Clark and Lois date, Lois loves Clark AND "The Blur", Lois doesn't know they're one and the same) was nearly as satisfying.

Gwen finds out Peter is Spidey, Rachel found out Bruce was Batman in the first movie, Jane found out Thor was the God of Thunder (okay that's not the same lol) but that could be a possibility. I'm hoping not too though.
