How I Met Your Mother - Part 2

Yep. Love Solutions wasn't online. It was a match making service. You go into their office, are analyzed by a representative and their founder used a mathematical paradigm to match you with your perfect mate. That isn't even close to online dating.

yeah, love solutions was a match making service that puts you into blind dates. online dating is more about you picking a person and messaging them to go out.

if you pause when the girls profile is up. the last paragraph pretty much says things like.....you will like this ted.

So the next episode (which is in two weeks, I hate these one week on, one week off deals) is the two part season finale (airing as an hour long episode). After tonight's episode, I am very inclined to think that the bride is Robin. So much of the last half of the season has focused on the Ted/Robin relationship. And if you remember, when we left Ted at the wedding, the bride was asking to speak with him. I'm guessing that either Ted and Robin will reconcile in the finale or something will happen to make their rift worse (a cliff hanger), at which point future Ted will give a monologue tying it all together and we will cut to Ted going to see the bride, who is revealed to be Robin (showing that things worked out for them as friends). My theory is also supported by the promise that Ted made to Robin in last year's Christmas episode (if she ever freaks out before her wedding, he will be her 'best man,' and calm her down) explaining why the bride would want to see Ted.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. I hope it is Robin too. Like I said, the novelty of female, stripper Barney would wear off very quickly IMO. As for Nora...she didn't love Barney. She loved the idea of changing Barney into someone he wasn't. Robin accepted Barney for who he is and loved him anyway. They should be together.

As much as I hate the idea of Barney and Robin again, I think you're right with that theory. Most likely it will be Robin and the creators will probably want the audience to think of it as a twist (when we all know it's heading that way). I do hope they will truly surprise us with a genuine twist at the end, though.

I feel like it could be Robin but there will be a twist to it: they're doing it for other reasons, or they end up getting divorced, I dunno something. I just can't see them living happily ever after. I like them in a relationship but I feel Barney will be single again by the end of the show.

Yeah, if it's Robin (which I hope it isn't), I see it only lasting for a short while. They just don't work as a couple, plain and simple. Waiting for the last two eps. is going to drive me crazy. :csad:

Why are there so many breaks in between episodes? We haven't gotten a consistent schedule for a few months now.

Yeah the breaks are ridiculous. I know that 2 Broke Girls will be having its season finale for 1 hour next week. That's why there's no HIMYM next week and was pushed back for 2 weeks.

if they get married then they stay together forever.which is good. it would hurt the storytelling if they get divorced.

the reason Robin and Barney are together is money. its hard to have a new regular actor on the show this late. all actors have inanse big paychecks. so the studio and writters need to keep the group small. so this means Lily/Marshall and Barney/Robin . Ted is having 1 episode girlfriends until he meets the mother. thats how they save money. no other reason. the writters spend over 2 seasons making it clear that Robin and Barney are not good together. they had to change it because of the budget.
the problem with the twist is that it can not work. they have devoted a whole season with Robin and Barney. it should be a normal cute cliche finale where its clear from the beginning that Barney and Robin will be together.

I don't get why people say Robin and Barney are bad for each other? Before Barney and Robin hooked up they were bros better bros than Barney and Ted. They had their problems of course mostly because they are two bulls who never back down from each other. When I see Barney and Robin I see the kind of relationship I'd like to have with somebody I can be myself my disgusting habits and all.

I'm a huge fan of the Barney/Robin relationship but I think where I have doubts and where others have doubts is with regards to whether Barney should ever end up in a relationship or not.Or in other words, do you want Barney to have character growth (start the show as this playboy and end it happily in a relationship) or do you want him to just be absolute (like the Joker in TDK, he simply IS, and even though the other characters have all grown from that first season, Barney doesn't need to).

Just because Barney is getting married doesn't mean that his wife has to be a show regular. We know the marriage is in the future, but do we know how far in the future? The show uses flash forwards and backwards a lot, and I can see them using them in this way to avoid having to add another cast member.

the wedding is not in the season finale?

I think the actual wedding will be the season 8 finale

What if the end of the whole show, where he tells them how he met their mother, they reveal that he and her actually got divorced or she died when the children were young and thats why he sat them down to tell them all this.

What if it's not Ted reading to them at all? Maybe it's his lawyer reading Ted's Will.. Dun, Dun, Dun!

the creators would never do such a mean thing to have her dead.

says who? They killed Marshall's dad, and made Robin unable to have children. Having somebody tell a story of how he met his kid's deceased mother isn't a stretch.

Why do people always say "the creators would never do that" like it's a valid argument? It never has been, and it never will be.

It's not the type of show to have a depressed ending. Plus it would be a cop out. Focus on who the mother is for 8+ seasons only to have her dead at the end? Nahhh.

You're right. That isn't a valid reason. But future Ted's references to the mother in present tense (and there have been a great many) IS a valid reason. As are scenes like the flash forward in "How I Met Everyone Else," where Ted remarks, "Where is my wife?" while he, Marshall, and Lily get stoned at their college reunion. The mother is definitely alive and still with Ted and in show evidence supports that.

But those things had something to do with their character arc. This would be "And that, kids, is how I met your mother. Also, she's dead."

If anything, I strongly believe Barney is dead in the future, at least at the time of Ted telling this story. We know he's alive in 2017, but he is never shown in any flash forwards after, or when everyone else is old.

I don't think the mother is dead or anything. I just wanted to point out that "they wouldn't do that" isn't a reason for them not to.
