The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

Mr. Freeze - At a young age, Victor Fries' parents were killed in a snowstorm, this greatly affected Victor's mentality, and he became a very cold-hearted and lonely individual. Though lonely, he was a very smart child growing up, and during college he met his future bride Nora, and for the the first time since his childhood, he felt loved. But soon after they were wed, she came down with a terrible illness and fell into a comatose, Victor couldn't stand the thought of losing the only person he loved in the world, and he began furiously working on a cure. Unfortunately he didnt have enough funds to work on a successful one, so he began to steal from small banks to attempt to get enough money to do so, but was caught one night by Batman. He vowed revenge on him for stopping his research, but when he tried to escape, his body temperature began to drop due to the severe snowstorm he was escaping in. He didnt freeze to death because of the chemicals he was exposed to during his research, which caused him to develop a dependance on sub zero temperature. He blamed Batman for his condition and vowed to gain his revenge, while still trying to find a cure for his wife's disease.

With The Riddler I agree with the " Disgusted with the stupidity of society" role someone said.

The ventriloquist but not with a mobster puppet (and no speech impedement), just some creepy little ventriloquist doll. Anthony Hopkins in the wonderful "Magic" or Sir Michael Redgrave in "dead of the night" should be used as a template for the character. And Geoffrey Rush should play him.

orite, i've read most of batmans major stories and i've never seen him before. might have to check those ones you mentioned.

Yes. Catman exists. You're sorry? Thank you. But it inspired my Ratcatcher thread!

Check it out. The Ratcatcher, Otis Flannegan.

Riddler. Hell yes.

I want him to be like Zodiac.

Hell no to Johnny Depp as the rumored actor to play him. That's b/s.

Why the hell did they lock the new thread? I asked one of the mods to delete the OLD thread. Damn it. No one can take it seriously in the old thread. They can't listen to instructions or what. :(

Zodiac again?

How many people like that idea? Come one.

I suspect this is the same guy with different accounts :whatever:

Riddler: Zodiac meets John Doe. Makes his victims solve his riddles to decide their fates. Accomplice of Oswald Cobblepott. Ruthless, uses his cane to beat and mangle people.

Penguin: Legitimate business man. Runs the Iceberg Lounge. Accomplice of Riddler. Bruce, unwittingly, helps open his Iceberg Lounge. Riddler and him put a bid on Batman's true identity with the criminal underworld.

Bane: South American hitman, works for Penguin. Thinks that beating Batman will give him pride. No super-strength, but uses steroids, and works out non-stop.

Carmine Falcone: Released from Arkham for good behavior, tries to take back his empire. Criminal rival of the Penguin.

Two-Face: Was put away in Arkham by Batman and Gordon, under the name Roman Sionis. Escapes Arkham, wears a black wooden mask, under the moniker "Black Mask" Put a price on Gordon and Batman's head. Black Mask's identity isn't revealed until the 3rd act. Pits all of Gotham's criminals against each other. He moves his coin on his fingers, ala Balthazar in Contantine. When he gives an order, he'll stop, and what ever side it's on, that's what he'll do. But you won't know that's what he does till the 3rd act. You think he just puts it away.

That's just me though. I plan on sending my plot outline to Nolan, see if I get results.:brucebat:

Ruthless? Eh, that's too Joker.

Riddler should be more "elaborate", like sets up mousetraps and crap for his victims.

But I don't read the comics so...yea. :D

Oh jesus, what next? :whatever:

Good luck with that.

What's wrong with Zodiac? I mean, not exactly like him, just adapting the whole "code thing".

Well, then you need to say that. The Zodiac was a murdering nut job. That's not The Riddler.

Maybe ruthless is a little too strong, but maybe a little impatient. That's a little better.

And then we get Victor Fries. Much like Dent, Freeze needs a lot of screen time to show his story arc, only this time his arc is even bigger: good and vulnerable guy - desperate good guy who tries to save a life - tragic event - desperate guy who starts doing horrible things to save a loved one - he gets more and more focused on doing that and starts losing his humanity - at some point circumstances make him detest what he has done and helps Batman in some way - he gets redemption, in jail... or in exile... but he's happy because etiher his wfe is now cured or she has a legitimate chance of getting a cure.

gee I wonder where you got this idea from :funny:

If Nolan does want to use him that is a possible avenue to take. Riddler would be changed much more then Joker to be taken seriously in Nolan's universe.

Personally, I'd prefer if he be a Fed hunting Batman who ends up creating the Riddler persona to lure him out.

And I propose we all wear "Make Riddler a Fed" stickers until the casting is announced.

(...just below our other "Make Catwoman Sexy" sticker :word: )

Me too.

Nice! :woot:

the wife still alive and Freeze murdering to save her rather than simply being bitter, and some of the phrases you used...did not come from Paul Dini :yay:

Then you obviously haven't seen BTAS: Subzero.:whatever:

That sounds like the Ratcatcher idea I pitched. Instead, Otis was an informant working for the Feds. Then he develops the Ratcatcher persona after Bruce is arrested so he can kill him. He ends up trying to lure him out instead.
