The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

I don't want to see Mr. Freeze in these films, at least not in the near future. It's not a realism issue. It's not even an Arnie issue. It's the fact that he's too similar a character to Captain Cold for Warner Bros to put them both on the screen. And since Captain Cold is the better character, I'd rather see Cold in a Flash movie than Freeze in a Batman sequel.

sorry , its just like when you love a show and it eventuallly just becomes part of your past, i thouhgt you guys might have moved on past this thread.

what do you guys think of my ideathough? i respect each of you opinions, but i want a remebrable physical challenge for bats

nice catch on that obal i dont think ive seen them fit together ike that before.

If DDL played the Joker he'd either die or kill everyone on set :(

Wow, I haven't been on this thread in a while. Nice to see its still going on.

I would be interested to see them do a comic book spinoff of Nolan's Batman world. With characters based on the movie (like Gordon, Joker, Dent, Scarecrow, and Ras al Ghul) and put other characters the way the movies would.

I've been wanting that for sometime now. Hopefully someone will take it up once the next movie is done. I'd like them to wait so that way the next villain is not accidentally used. The other advantage is we could have the Joker as much as we want.

Done right, Maxie Zeus would be great. Remember the Batman TAS episode?

There was a Thor comic I think, or maybe a Silver Surfer I don't know, where the citizens of this world were worshiping a false god (who was actually a super powered being).

So I could really see Maxie Zeus claiming to be a god, and building a fallowing like a cult. Maybe even reaching high status as a really influential person in Gothem.
Thats just my idea though. Whats yours?

Tahts true, don't want to jump the gun and use a character in the comic, limiti8ng what they could do with him or her in the movie.
But some characters wouldn't fit or would be too expensive. Thats why Killer Croc and Deadshot (thats his name right?) were put in the Anime Batman movie.
You also wouldn't want to try and guess what they would do and then be wrong or just not as good.

But it would be great, yuou could bring Ras back, Joker back as many times as you want, and Dent back
And add in the multiple personality stuff that I loved about the character.

i like this for bane,

the batman is an outlaw yet the mob is still in ruins
a south american prison escapee has come to gotham looking for the one man he finds as a chalenge, batman, ever since his childhood bane has had nightmanres about a bat and he believes the batman to be this bat, so he wiskes to stop the nightmares through defeating the batman in combat, so he systematically leads the leagueof shadows , now under the command of talia al ghul, into gotham (the narrows). realaeses the whole of arkham asylum and watches batman take the others down in an attempt to study the batman in combat and learn his moves so that the he can expect batmans everyu move.

Sounds more like Kraven than Bane.

Anyone else read the new "Joker" hardcover comic, and think Croc was just a total badass in it? I love how they reinterpreted the character, and brought him back to his roots of being a black man with a skin condition, rather than the literal man-gator thing he's become in recent years. I think an interpretation like was seen here could really work in a Nolan Batman movie.

well it was an idea i had and the whole thing about the bat in his dreams is part of the characters bacvk story, wiki it.

Yeah, the whole book was pretty cool and reality based like what Nolan is doing (superbly) with the franchise. But to me the crazier bat rogues, the more improbable ones are still a lot of fun when they keep their original characteristics. Otherwise we could say we already had Croc in TDK (Tiny "Deebo" lister).

I want to see Arkham Asylum Killer Croc on the big screen (Jurassic Croc) and I want to see Batman slay him like St Georges slays the Dragon. So not in this franchise I guess, which is equally fine with me.

I'm kinda sorry for asking, but i was wondering why Nolan has said that Penguin would be hard to do in his universe. In my opinion, Penguin would be one of the easiest villains that batman has that can be incorporated into Nolan's Universe. So could anyone tell me what Nolan sees as a problem of adapting him?

I don't know the answer but maybe it's because he is not as interested in that particular character as he is in other bat villains. Maybe he has flashbacks of Burgess Meredith, who knows ?

Anarky and Harley Quinn. Having those two work together would be awesome. Anarky wouldn't require alot of changing to be in Nolan's Bat verse, but with Harley you'd have to make her alot more sinister. What better way to have Joker's presence felt in the movie without him actually being in it?

very good thinking man, and i think we should e-mail this thread to nolan, anyone know his adress?

But see here's the thing dude, I don't think it would happen, because Anarky isn't a very popular Bat villain. Hell everybody on here would rather see someone we get shoved in our faces alot, like Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, Mr. Freeze. I think change is a good thing, especially for the Batman franchise. I mean, what's the point in seeing the same villains over and over again when we can see someone new, but someone who is still influenced by The Joker. As you probably know, Anarky's idol was Mr. J, and with that logic you could have him and Harley still doing things the way Joker would. The way I see it, it's the best of both worlds, for people who want the Joker back in the next installment, and those that want new villains. No matter how it goes though, IF Nolan does come back to do another one, I'm sure he'll do something we like. He's got a way about spicing a character up. After seeing what he did with Joker and Two Face in TDK...It's hard telling what he can do.

He's pretty freakin bad...I just don't see the fat little gnome as being much of a threat to Batman. What with people like Joker, Scarecrow, Two Face, etc. walking around.

okay i was thinking in the realm of finnancial power he could hire half of the gotham underworld as body gaurdand hitman squad, and will respect your opinion

two face aint walkin around, at least i hope not he should let that twisted and broken neck of his heal up first:oldrazz::woot:

Clayface is simply too supernatural to appear in Batman 3.

In dealing withe the reaming villains of the Batman lure if you will i haven't seen a thread souly for interpretations and ideas for transitions of these characters into the Nolanverse for his final film of the series. OK. so which villains are we most likely to see in the third.

Riddler
Penguin
Catwoman
Ivy

These characters can be easily introduced into his world. how?

Riddler.- Done much in the way of the Movie " Se7en" Can be the central villains leaving riddles at each of his crime scenes. but with nolans mind i think we are in for an interpritations we are not expecting much like Ledger did with the Joker.

Penguin- the easiest of the Bunch. can serve as an Mod Boss or even someone much in the Political world connect with Dents Past. someone that would challnge dent in the next film and reveal even more of his past.

Catwoman- Her story and origin, if she is included is key to the film, i believe she needs to portrayed as a assassin in the film, One that Stalks Her Prey, which could coin her name Catwoman in the film. one that only takes out those that are corrupt. or similar to those that wronged her in her past. Kind of like "the Bride" from Kill Bill. kind of to show them the pain they she felt when she lost something dear in her life etc.

Poison Ivy- doesn't really have to be able to control plants in a literal sense. can be like catwoman in the fact see is bent on revenge. maybe a killer that becomes a call girl and poisons her victims and leave ivy leaves at the scene. i also don't believe she has to be a main character. also she could be paired with catwoman. in trying to take down the mob internally.

Any Ideas for more on the preceding or other batman villains?...
Clayface
Scarface
freeze
Bane
Harley quinn etc.

I really didn't know where to post this. so if it has to be moved sorry.

The Joker = The Black Dahlia
The Riddler = The Zodiac Killer

you are so totally deep im so stoned , okay im not but that was pretty intellecual and allthat and noln has used some less known villains, like ras i used to not know his name until after bb, but i knew who he was through the tv show, but the piont is you never know waht knid of preverbial ***** hits the fans and they love and i mean the good ***** the kind with sprinkles:hehe:
and thats waht amazes me about noaln is how as iexplained somewhere else he strips a character to the core elemnts and biulds a "real" person over that.
and even if we dont get the kind of continuation of the joker like we want or expect we will still flock to the theatres to see " ..a guy who dresses up as a bat clearly [having] issues" kicking the crap out of the bad guys is all in charcterization and story telling, and bats has so much to take from and remold that is why i love the character and every meber of the superting cast and rogues gallery.:brucebat:

somewere on the baords i had the idea of a serious batzarro as a batman sans moral compass and i judt wqas reding something about the wrath and that is closer to what i said.

oky that last post was a little late at night so i wasnt all there but yeah i see were you going and like i said above whatever nolan does were probably going to like it
unless your a nitpicky little squirt who has a problem with every little change to a character and have prabaly not read a comic since the last time there was a change of writers
