The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

I was just thinking,
There really doesn't have to be a rationalized reason, or a realistiic version, of the Riddler leaving clues and riddles on purpose.
Didn't a few real life serial killers leave clues or riddles, or even sent letters to the cops and news papers, trying to challenge them and prove that they were smarter?
I mean maybe thats all the Riddler is doing,
maybe he is an insanely smart man who feels like he has to prove his superiority to Commissioner Gordon and then prove that he is better than Batman when he gets involved.

He doesn't have to have anything like Aspergers or Autism, although ever since I saw Law and Order Criminal Intent (with the guy from Perfect Strangers) I thought it would be a perfect explanation.
He could just be a twisted, maybe mentally ill, man who wants to show the world that he is smarter than they are.
That could be done in a very real way.

Penguin, the Riddler, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul, and Poison Ivy are all well known and the most adaptible.

Penguin - we've gone over him. He's basically a human criminal with a penchant for winged creatures (sans the bat).

the Riddler - genius, although somewhat twisted individual. Lets twist him somewhere however; make him a serial killer SAW style that employs riddles and twisted games into his murders, and he targets criminals, like Batman. What he's doing is...some would say "good"...but regardless, the way he's doing it is just as wrong as the criminals he's killing. Could make for some dynamite action and mystery.

Talia al Ghul - daughter of the Lord of the League of Shadows? International terrorist/guardian? Love, action, intelligent dialogue and story - Talia could go a long way in Nolan's universe, but the connection between BB and a third installment could be just way too much. Plausible, but unlikely.

Poison Ivy - Take away the control of plants, and make her a sadistic eco-terrorist that loves trees more than people. Specializes in chemical warfare thats derived all naturally...develp this idea some more and we could have a great criminal on our hands.

Why does Nolan dislike Penquin anyway? He can't really be too clouted by the "waa-waa" jokes of the old TV show.

I just copy-pasted this from my Knightfall movie concept thread, so I figured why not give it a shot seeing as we're talking about villains... mine would be Bane and Azrael.

Seeing as this is Bruce Wayne's rookie season as Batman, I thought the escalation theme of TDK would take an even more aggressive turn coming into further sequels. In BB, the gates of Arkham Asylum were forcibly opened and chaos ran amok in Gotham City by Ra's Al Ghul, so I don't see why some other criminal mastermind (i.e, Bane) wouldn't try it once again just to piss Batsy off..

My idea of a Knightfall adaptation is that it closely resembles the comic book plotline, however no Robin or Nightwing would exist, and would fit in nicely with Batman's beginnings as a crime fighter, considering that after 3 movies directed by Nolan, another three-part arc would seem appropriate. A Jean Paul Valley would be ok with me, yet there should be an entire separate movie that would introduce him into the mix and further develop his characterization, which leads into the Knightfall movie adaptation. It could be possible that Jean Paul Valley was actually a student of Ra's Al Ghul prior to Bruce Wayne, only that he was taking the law into his own hands in some other part of the globe. Upon hearing of Ghul's death, he ventures into Gotham City to seek vengeance and there he meets Bruce Wayne. As Batman, Bruce defeats Jean Paul, and confines him into Arkham Asylum. It would also help that Jean Paul actually knows who Batman is, yet due to his learnings from other continents, perhaps somewhere like Japan, he decides not to reveal Batman's secret identity as some sort of code of honor.

Bane enters into the mix upon the next movie, with the same introduction as Joker, without any knowledge of who he is, and upon arriving he breaks out all the inmates from Arkham to once again cause trouble for Batsy and the GCPD. Following the plot of the comic book, Batman grows weary with each encounter of an arch-nemesis.

Prior to Bane's true reveal to Batsy, our hero would have the first of his final encounters with Two-Face (if he doesn't get killed off in the third film), then lastly the Joker in the streets at dawn. After defeating and neutralizing Mr. J, Bane introduces himself and gives Bats a hard time, seeing as he has grown physically tired and too weak to give Bane a good fight. Then Bane breaks his back.

In the third and final chapter of the film, Jean Paul Valley discovers Batman has been broken. He decides to take our hero back to the Batcave, and helps him recuperate (with the mindset that only he should bring down the Caped Crusader). As Bruce regains his health, Jean Paul forcibly takes the mantle of the Bat as his own and battles Bane. (I foresee this taking place in the middle of the entire flick, somewhere around the 45minute to 1 hour mark)

Gotham is thankful to this new Batman, yet perhaps after a few weeks they are rather surprised by the tactics he employs upon capturing what's left of the Arkham inmates, namely morally incomprehensible acts of violence by killing off criminals here and there. Bruce becomes 100% and there he decides to take down Jean Paul for a final showdown and an end to the whole plot.

Tell me what you think, all this I just typed on to go so pardon me for any hints of repetitiveness with my grammar and such... (plus, its 3:45am in here and I haven't slept a wink lol just came back from a night of partying)

Its good, There are some things I would change. But they are just my own personal opinions.
Like I would use Nightwing instead of Jean Paul Valley. I would make Nightwing someone who is skilled in fighting and martial ats (a little) and maybe (using the Arkham Asylum idea, which I love) maybe one of the criminals who broke out kills Richard Grayson's parents. This would move Grayson into action.
I would have Grayson be acting totally on his own, a seperate entity from Batman all together. But since he isn't as skilled as Batman he isn't as unstoppable.
But he would get a little screen time. The most screen time would go to Batman as he battles on and we see him get physically and emotionally drained. This could be a few years into his career so he is still relativly new. He is on his way, however to be the unstoppable Batman we know and love.

Anyway
I think Bane, like in the comics, should be intoduced slowly. Although we would see him and his henchman setting all these things up. Have characters mutter his name in the beginning. Have Bruce and Alfred read about him in old papers and such. Then somewhere near the middle Bane attacks Killer Croc (who could be the human version we have read about here) and Batman finds Croc severaly beaten with both arms and legs broken several broken ribs, a broken jaw, broken nose, practically everything broken that you cane get and still live and move a little.
Along the way we as the audiance would slowly get reveals too, but would probably see Bane sooner than Batman would.
But his reputation and Batman's fear of him would get built up until the final confrontation at the end.

Eventually I would have Batman meet up with Grayson who used Batman's costume gimmick to help him scare criminals (because if he is somehow associated with Batman that gives him more of an advantage, gives him some credibility, than if he just put on a costume and went out on his own.) So Grayson acted as though he is partners with Batman.
Anyway, they meet up and despite Batman's complete unwillingness to allow Grayson to help him one little bit Batman is too physically and emotionally weak to stop Grayson.
Plus maybe he had just come from a fight with Poison Ivy or the Scarecrow, and he needs medical attention. When Alfred meets Grayson he could say something like Welcome to the team or something. (Alfred seems more accepting.)
The use of Grayson as Nightwing would only work in this film I think. Because Batman is SOOO overwhelmed that Grayson would be able to actually him him some.
Also in this film Gordon would almost be part of the team, part of Batman's army in this film. I would even have a scene where Gordon fights side by side with Batman.
Also i would show that the cops in this film aren't incappable of protecting the city. They just need Batman now more than ever.

As Batman fights some criminals we have seen before, and some new ones (this would be a good film to slip in some characters we haven't seen yet and may never see again: Killer Moth, Posion Ivy, Killer Croc, Black mask, so on.)
Batman also becomes more of a public figure too, while in previous films he was more of a myth and a vigilantee, and even someone people didn't want in Gothem. But as he takes down bad guys and gives more and more of Gothem back to the public, he becomes a sort of iconic hero for them. People start rooting for him.

After Batman has stopped enough criminals to get him to where Bane wants him, and then he pounces.
I think the final fight has to be in the Batcave. Alfred tries to defend their home but is taken down. Grayson tries to intervene but is stopped by Bane.
Now its just Bane and Batman. They fight in a vicious fight.
Bruce has no belt at this point but he uses everything on his suit, the blades on his arms, the ears, even the cape, and all those things get broken or removed as the fight moves on, It ends up just being Bruce in the armor suit from the first film.
Even several boobytraps in the batcave would be triggered during this final fight. To help make it seem like without the inteferences from Alfred and Grayson and the Batcave, Batman would be no match for Bane.
In the end Bane is almost winning and tries to break his back,
But Batman prevails, hopefully the audiance would be so much on the edge of their seat as to what will happen to Batman that when he does win their will cheer and be releived.
But Batman is SOOO drained that as soon as Bane is out, or maybe dead, and he is sure of it, and Alfred and Grayson are up and safe, Bruce passes out. Maybe the audinace might think he is dead.

But Batman does recover after a few months. While he was out of commission Grayosn has filled in for him. but Batman still wants him out, but after a scene of convincing Bruce he tells Grayson, with Alfred in the room as well, that if he is going to fight out there he better learnt o do it right. Or something to that effect.
Maybe even have Gordon meet Nightwing at the end or something.
But the main idea at the end is that the people of Gothem (and the audiance) knows that Batman isn't just some guy in a suit who decided to stop criminals in Gothem,
Batman is the sworn protector of Gothem and no one is going to stop his War on Crime.

I mgith have Grayson in a later sequal, but I would probably just have him in the spin off right after this film. Set it up that after a while Grayson wanted to move out of Gothem and help another city, start spreading Batman's War on Crime further than Gothem.

So thats what I would do. I just would want to see Nightwing before Azreal. But thats just me.

That was just my idea that I got from reading yours. Not saying yours was bad at all, I was just inspired while reading your story.
Plus these are just my own opinions, as is almost everything I post.

Oh, maybe a No Man's Land type story would work too, in a similar fashion.

I like your idea, its really veasable to the Nolan Batman world. I think it would work too.
Yours just inspired one of my own.

...to make him more crocodile-like.

Poison Ivy: She's a femme fatale, an eco-terrorist from Seattle called Pamela Thompson, that comes to Gotham in favor to finnish with Gotham's Gangsters that will destroy a 500 acre jungle in revenge to a mob family in the Amazonas. She uses an alias: Poison Ivy and leaves a knife with a bunch of roses stabbed in her victim's ribs

Catwoman:I don't see anything wrong with her, well, we can maybe change the skin tight leather stuff. She has had a rough chilhood, daughter of Carmine Falcone with a married Gotham City woman, called Maria Kyle, the man rejected any parental direct relation with his daughter and abandoned Maria, her husband, Brian, accepted the little girl, but didn't made his life easier. Now she is a master cat-burglar, equiped with an armor, a mask, a helmet, goggles, and plenty of luxurious gadgets, she gives Gotham nights a more feminine touch

The Riddler: A world wide known hacker, his name is Edward Nashton, but takes the alias The Riddler for committing otrageous bank robberies via internet. Maroni gets aknowledge of his exsistence and contracts him to steal money from Wayne Enterprises, considering it's of his property. Edward gets mad because he thinks he's overpaid, considering the sume of the money he stole, so he betrays Maroni and tries to get a place in Gotham's underworld.

I would imagine Riddler as a cross between the bad guys from Lethal Weapon 4 and Zodiac. He's got question marks tattooed all over his body. Real name is Edward Nashton but goes by Edward Nygma. The media dubs him Riddler as a snide follow-up to The Joker's infamy.

Penguin: British armsdealer who owns the Ice Berg Lounge. By day he's a respected businessman, manager, and sociolite. By night he's a gun-smuggler and supplier to the gangs and the highest bidder. He's short, round, and stork-like nosed and waddles a bit because of his large belly. By nowhere does he enjoy eating raw fish, quacking and squawking like a bird, or have webbed toes and hands. He still has a monacle, sometimes wears a top hat but also likes bowler hats, has a machine gun umbrella, and dresses in tuxedo suits.

Poison Ivy: Radical environmentalist turned ecoterrorist. She first starts out as Pamela Isley, a hippie, and botanist who is passionate about saving the planet, yet she gets way over her head and when becoming the identity 'Poison Ivy' she swears that no living plant or tree will ever be harmed again, only inconsiderate humans.

The Riddler: Former NSA codebreaker and demolitionist turned detective. When we meet him he is sort of a celebrity and the police almost seem more accepting of him than Batman. But under their nose Edward Nygma is actually the mad bomber they've been hunting for the last couple of days. Nygma in this is sort of like he is on "The Batman" a cyberterrorist. The bombing of the mayor's office is just a diversion, his real goal is to like in "Live Free or Die Hard" create a firesale and electronically shut down all the major utilities and supplies Gotham needs. When Gotham has met their match he'd be given money. Batman of course following Riddler's clues and riddles would figure out who he is and try and stop him.

Bane: Not a dumb bumbling bafoon like in "Batman & Robin"; Bane here would be like in the cartoons and comics, an assassin for hire. Added muscle. A heavy whom using steroids that get pumped through tubes on his body would suddenly become a powerhouse of strength and punishment. I want to see him literally break Batman's back. Put fear into him. Make him want to give up fighting crime. Scare the hell out of him and the audience.

Catwoman: Cat burgular by night, Selina Kyle by day. No need for an origin story. She's a thief plain and simple.

Killer Croc: While I prefer a circus freak who has reptillian skin and heavy for Penguin or someone else, I thought about it, and I think he could just be a really tall guy who has tattoos over his body to make it look like green scales. He could be a hitman and with his tattoos he takes it to the next extreme by sawing down his teeth into like a crocodile's.

Firefly: Easy one. He's a guy who has a jet-packed stolen from Wayne Labs. Carries around a flamethrower with him and has wristrockets like Jango or Boba Fett.

Ventriloquist: Simple and easy. Follow comics.

Mr. Freeze: Follow Dini's story.

Solomon Grundy: Albino skinned heavy who has white hair, white skin, and is slow-witted. Doesn't speak much, let's his fists do his talking.

Mad Hatter: I think Dini and Timm did his story the best, but the best idea would be have him as sexual pervert who has fantasies. If you wanted to make him real dark he could be sort of like a sexual predator who targets young teen girls and takes him to his house to live out his 'Wonderland' fantasy as Alice. Then, over tea he would kill them or molest them.

Black Mask: I think he's pretty easy. I like the skull mask more than his original incarnation which seem more like he was wearing granite on his face. I would want him to be guy who loves tailored suits like Armani and be a rival to Wayne. I'd even have Mr. Earle working for his company who while shamed by Bruce, now is delivering personal information and insight to Roman. Information about weaponry and technology that Fox made that suddenly went missing but was later found out was given to Bruce Wayne---the same weaponry and technology Batman uses. Earle and Roman would than try to expose Bruce as Batman. Blackmailing him every which way. Roman however with his bitter hatred for Wayne would take it too far and become Black Mask. He'd then kill Earle because he'd realize he doesn't need him anymore and take Batman's girl hostage. Batman would then have to do like most superheroes---save the damsel in distress.

The Ninja & Lady Shiva: You could change their storylines where they work for the League of Shadows under Talia's leadership.

Man-Bat: If it's Nolan's world, he won't work, but if it was Nolan's world he'd probably just be a guy who looks like a bat with bat ears and nose, but no wings or talons. If it isn't than I'd go with Dr. Kirk Langstrom obsessed with Batman so he becomes Man-Bat. Of course the cops think they're the same and Batman becomes a fugitive.

Clayface: Wouldn't work in Nolan's world but if Nolan wasn't around I'd go with Ron Perlman's brilliant portrayal of Matt Hagen aka Clayface.

ok now its my turn

mr freeze

he doesnt need a suit to keep him cool he needs it to keep him warm, seeing as he works in cryogenics his lab operates a number of machinery that uses liquid nitrogen (this is in real life able to freeze on contact). due to the nature of the chemicals they react violently in room temperature which give of a lot of mist and smoke. so for him to see through this icy fog he dons therma gogles (and the suit for protection) he doesnt need to be kept cool he is just a normal man with a wive that is in suspended animation.
there may be an accident were liquid escapes from a vat and kills a few people, he now has their deaths on his name and the gcpd after him.

his job is lost and with it funding to kep his wife alive so obviously has to go to crime to get money. with only his knoledge in his fields as a weapon he uses nitrogen to break into banks ect (BUT NOT IN A GUN FORM INFACT THE FREEZE GUN SHUD NEVER HAPPEN) he appears in a sub plot but not as the main villain or mabee hired by somone else to brake into somewhere

the penguin

he is dubbed the penguin because he wears a tux and is short, no fish eating or bird fetishes (he could however still have a pet vulture mabee) nose doesnt have to be too big eiver) stick to the comics such as "when the crow flies" for instance

two face

can work but no straight line down the face just a big splash that over laps the other part of his face but character the same

cllay face

original carnation but id say more like hanibal lectre but obviously with face puty (or clay) for the desguise, no shape shifting ectect

killer croc
has already been done well in this thread

catwoman
doesnt really need changing

riddler
works

scarface
could work

and i cant be bothered writing anymore

until i get a responce that is, and i know there are some typos in there

also i think bat girl could work more than robin if she had to be added

"what? there's two of them now?"

Pretty much, yeah. I'd give him a few pet birds too. Basically, he'd be the guy who designs somewhat outlandish weapons for Gotham's growing eccentric criminal population. He's got multiple umbrellas and canes with concealed gadgets and weapons.

The Riddler - Edward "Nygma" Nashton Treatment

About as old as Batman in Begins. The youngest he could be is 18, the oldest he could be is 27. On the surface, a tech-junkie, Child of the Internet Revolution. The Information Era. If it's on the Internet, he can find it, and quickly. He has an unnaturally High IQ. Socially inept. When a teacher would ask him a question in School, immediately he would return a detailed and highly accurate answer. The scariest part of it is that this ability bores him to death. He doesn't like to know everything. He wants to search for the answers, he doesn't like to understand everything. It is scary, to be able to understand the world without having to try to. And nothing is beyond his reach. Everything you could think of, at it's highest level is just simple child's play for him.

And although he feels cursed with his intelligence, he enjoys the popularity it gives him. It fuels his ego, to be able to help other people. He's grown more and more egotistical as time goes by. And soon, his intelligence is something he holds above the heads of other people. But while in High School, he is diagnosed with a form of Asperger's Syndrome, where everything he does, wether it's right or wrong, leads back to him. But being so intelligent, he has learned to adapt to it and all of his leads his mind forces him to leave don't lead simply to him. In addition, he has medicine that only keeps it in check. So in all, the Asperger's isn't much of a player into his psyche at this point.

He attempts to use his intelligence / ego to wrangle in some lady friends, but his consequential lack of empathy or social skills leaves him with nothing more than bitter failure. He becomes trapped in his own mind. As time goes by he is innocently forced to become more and more secluded from society as a whole. He locks himself in his office for days at a time (There is a bathroom right off of it. Don't worry.) Food becomes not as important as it should be. He makes himself feel above taking his own medicine and soon abandons that too. There are no side-effects of that apparent to him yet.

And what does he do in his office? He begins a hacker circle, going under the alias "Nygma" after a name his friends (if you could call them that) gave him in High School. He works day in and day out to hack the world's largest databases. One by one, the largest Federal Databases fall to him. The NSA, FBI, CIA. You name it, he's in it.

Soon, his brain formulates the 'perfect crime.' To draw money from the Federal Reserve into several untraceable accounts he has set up. I don't know how he would do this, but I'm sure something could be set up. So when he does it, he (as his Asperger's has come back up) feels compelled to leave a clue. And before he does, he tries to remedy it by creating several clues that become harder and harder to figure out and becomes fascinated by wordplay and puzzles.

Now with the money he has recieved and the information from the United States Government, he quickly develops a small dosage of muscle building chemicals. When he injects it, he passes out and wakes up the next day to find that it has worked well, with no side-effects whatsoever. This is only because a man as intelligent as Edward wouldn't have made mistakes with something like this. He then returns out into the world, pale, unhealthy looking, and generally unrecognizeable as a darkly introspective inhumorous killer, trapped in his own mind. Trapped in his mental obligation to leave a pattern as per his Asperger's. Within his first few crimes, the Gotham Police dub him "The Riddler."

From there, as far as plot and his interaction with Batman... No idea. But that's how he should be done in Nolan's world.

DISCLAIMER - I'm not really that well-versed with The Riddler as far as what the canon says. This is just my take on what he should be based on what I know of his character.

Pretty much, yeah. I'd give him a few pet birds too. Basically, he'd be the guy who designs somewhat outlandish weapons for Gotham's growing eccentric criminal population. He's got multiple umbrellas and canes with concealed gadgets and weapons.

I think he should just have pet doves. I don't want him to have a vulture or owl or anything too absurd. I think if when his ass gets thrown into Arkham the inmates should dub him, "The Birdman of Arkham" as a spoof on "The Birdman of Alcatraz."

But yeah maybe he can have a flamethrower umbrella, or one that shoots out gas, but I think the machine gun umbrella is the best one. It's simple and doesn't go into James Bond-villain territory where all of sudden it can shoot laser beams now and hypnotize people when twirled lol.

the flamethrower would probably work and the gas but mechanically how could the machine gun? where would the magazine go? without sticking out? or a single shot rifle i suppose would work or a shot gun

or a blade at the end

and id leave the gas to a gas pellet in the hat that not brolley

what does anyone think about my freeze idea? (above)

Then, a blade is the easiest one or like you said a single shot rifle. The others become complicated.

It's not really that absurd at all. He can have an aviary on his rooftop where he keeps several sPecies. Penguin's a classy guy, it makes sense that he'd keep some exotic birds around. Also, the Iceberg Lounge could have a large glass aquarium full of various penguins for a centerpiece. I think they had something like that in the animated series, didn't they?

I agree on the Umbrellas. Let's keep the devices plausible. A taser perhaps?

Also, I like the take on a young Riddler, Reflectionist. I've felt the same way.

I like some of the ideas in here, Mr. Freeze is one I've thought about before but eventually realized it wasn't possible to do his story justice without considerable screen-time, and one of the criterion of Nolan's world is that the focus should always be on Bruce. Freeze's character development and story could easily eat up an entire film. Scarecrow? Pretty easy to intuit what he's about from some character moments. Same with the Joker, the mob bosses, Ra's took a few scenes and a single line about sacking Rome, etc., etc... They're all easy to quickly incorporate into the story without much time spent building them up. But if a random guy in a space suit with a freeze ray dropped into the mix without much explanation? We'd be asking the theatre to stop the film to figure out what was going on and ask if they'd switched B&R onto the reels just to give us nightmares.
Anyways, before coming to this realization I thought up a relatively plausible explanation for the technology of Freeze:
The process of freezing his wife required developing two processes, one a chemical that inhibits the body to functioning at lower temperatures, and another a saline chemical that evaporates at a below zero temperature to serve as an antifreeze within the body to keep everything liquid so the heart could pump every hour or so to keep the brain alive. He gives his wife the full treatment of the first chemical, injects her with the antifreeze and puts her in a refrigerated tank full of it. Whatever conveniant plot point causes his accident dumps him in a vat of the chemical used for the slowing process, not enough to bring him into complete cryostasis but definately alter his body. In the aftermath he has to run into a cold room and stab a needle full of the antifreeze into his heart to keep his blood from freezing. He modifies a haz-mat like suit used in the cold environments to keep him cold, and uses an extra pump (or removes one from) his wife's cryochamber as the basis for a gun that fires a mixture of the antifreeze and water. When this mixture is released into a normal temperature environment, the anti-freeze quickly evaporates, leaving the extra cold water to condense and freeze in its wake. Would look exceptionally cool with good visual effects: a stream from the gun starting as water, and as it got further away separated into steam and snow, and eventually pure ice on the target.

just thought of afew replacments for penguin brolly weopon

poison dart/traqueliser dart
spear/pogectile
some form of flash bang grenade (mabee not)
ultra high density sound wave

or
a pez dispenser lmao

I have on Mr. Freeze idea,
What if instead of his wife being frozen she is put into a medically induced comma by Victor himself (who has been treating her for some horrible illness).
Maybe she needs a transplant but is on a waiting list.
Using what little connections he has he is able to finds out who else is on the waiting list and who is a donnar (spelling?).
Using a gun that blast people with a sort of dry ice chemical he freezes his victims.
Or something similar to that.

(This is all just a rough draft sort of thing.)

Seperately the ides that add up to Mr. Freeze aren't unreal.
- He put his wife in cryogentics to keep her alive while science searches
for a cure. People do that all the time I think.
The only thing is no one knows how to undo it yet.
- He has a gun that freezes people. If the movie went the more realist
and low tech apporach it would work. A sort of squirt gun of sorts that
shoots a blast of a dry ice type chemical. The effects would probably
be very fatale in the film and unreversable.
- His costume would become a sort of bio hazard type suit. Instead of
protecting him from any temperature above freezing it would protect him
from the chemicals he uses for his gun and in his cryogentics.

So instead of being a scientist who is turned into a man who can't survive above frozen temps and freezes people with his freeze gun,
he becomes a scientist who is pushed into doing the unthinkable, wearing a containtment suit and using a gun that blasts dry ice. Something along those lines.

I even think they should go as far as making him almost act like Mr. Freeze from the cartoon. When he starts killing, or realizes what he must do for his wife, he becomes totally emotionally cut off and dead. He acts as if he cannot feel anything. He almost acts like he is outside of humanity.
There can, and should, be a moment at the end where Victor Freeze' emotions turn back on and the full realization of everything he has done comes flooding back. (maybe thats a bit too dark.)

Then cast an actor like Christopher Lloyde as Victor Friese.

yes reread one of my replies

i think its on page two or three of this thread
