The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

From what I can imagine them doing in the next film I can't see Freeze fitting in, I mean the Riddler would be more of a threat since he could go against Batman's conspiracy and try to ruin everything.
Exactly. The problem is, Freeze wouldn't be able to fit until a fourth film. Which is highly unfortunate, as Freeze was in a fourth film before much to everyone's dismay. I really can't see the franchise moving past a third film. The fourth film in a franchise has historically been atrocious.

why do people keep thinking things will turn back to Batman and Robin? Do you really think WB would let that happen?

I just think it's a risk the studios wouldn't want to risk. Another appearance from Mr. Freeze also might not be well accepted by the general movie-going populace. That's my only concern. I'd personally love to see Fries done some justice.

I think mr freeze, riddler, catwoman, and penguin are the campiest batman villains.
mr freeze- usually ice related crimes, i would rather he do normal crimes with the help of ice
Riddler- always about riddles, no matter what
Catwoman- always cat related robberies
penguin- always bird related.

Nolan takes the main themes of a character and applies them, freeze has never been interpreted without his freeze gun(to my knowledge),

He is the hardest to adapt along with firefly, i believe that the clayface(original basil karlo), killer croc, and most others can be adapted.

Those four are, but it's also true that there was a time where the Joker and Two-Face were nothing but camp. Mr. Freeze could just want some sort of revenge, like Dent in TDK. The Riddler could be looked at the same way L was in the Death Note series (sorry if the reference is too esoteric). Catwoman could just be a cat burglar. The Penguin could just be a mob name like how Falcone was known as "the Roman" in The Long Halloween. Killer Croc could be a gang-banger that has a crocodile tattoo, giving him his name "Killer Croc" (like a rapper name). Clayface would be hard to do well. The Clayface in his very first Basil Karlo appearance was an actor that dressed up like the iconic horror character he played in a movie, which is pretty much a stretch to me. Firefly would be easy - he's just a dude with a flamethrower. He could simply be a cameo villain like Zsasz in Begins or Scarecrow in TDK that's simply there to show how dangerous even common criminals have become. Man-Bat's pretty much the only impossible one of the central Rogues Gallery, although it would be possible to have the Kirk Langstrom character appear without any reference to Man-Bat, like how Curt Connors was handled in Spider-Man 2 & 3.

Freeze would be hard to do, he has a freeze gun and requires a cold environment, just think about it for a while.

In the comics usually firefly actually flew, man bat I believe is out of the question in any way shape or form, the only realistic way to do a character like that would be.

The best terrible way to do an unrealistic character that named "ManBat"-
He is a doctor who suffers from a sort of lycanthrope syndrome(he thinks he turns into a bat), he wears a bat like costume, made from animal pelts and such, he worked at wayne ent. and stole the electro magnetic material for a cape.

You can take away Fries' disability, make the suit more a choice than a need.

Take away Firefly's ability to fly.

Here's a question: How do you do Killer Moth? hehe

I HAVE AN IDEA FOR FRIES! make him like the new lucious, rember he resigned at the end od tdk, he helps wyne with these tech requirements, but doesnt ask why, or is he told, eventually, he ends up lie dent, perhaps while say, firefly is trying to burn the place or steal, he knocks freis into a vat of hypercooled water, the sudden shock mkes him unconcous, ff gets away, and friese's life is barely saved by the bat, thats an origin, we just need like his wife to be visiting and ff knocks her out th ewindow when he escapes, she falls to her death, fries becoames insaned by revenge, builds a suit of armor and uses a weapon he designed for wayne enterprises which uses liquid nitrogen to cause watergun like stream of the substance to shoot forward, and sets out for revenge, using cruel tactics to find ff and kill him. he fails when bats takes out ff and then fries , who is only called freeze on a tabloid page read by bruce

I was also thinking he could be Lucius's replacement. You don't need to include the disability. I posted a Nolanized version his origin a few posts back, you should look at it and tell me what you think of it. He doesn't need to be called Mr. Freeze at all. He could just be Mr. Fries, like how Bruce Wayne was Mr. Wayne and Lucius Fox was Mr. Fox. It's a pun on his name.

youve got something threre, iwas going the two face route were he really doesnt become "mr freeze" until about half way through at the most and spends the rest of the movie working to take down firefly since he blames him for his wifes death, idk why i skipped on her having a deisease, but she is his driving force in my version, i also liked how you connected your villains since nolan likes to do that

Thanks. That's the main thing you have to remember. Supervillain team-up are a thing of the past. They went out of style with the last Batman franchise. And then you have to look at what happened when they were brought back for Spider-Man 3. The way you use multiple villains in the storyline is to try and connect them together. However, this was a little easier since there is already a member of Batman's Rogues Gallery that was deformed from an attack on Two-Face. Look up the character Warren White, also known as the Great White Shark. He has some potential, but I just don't see him working out in a Nolan film. So why not work that into another character?

This besides the fact that neither of those two villains are probably going to appear in Nolan's franchise. Might work out for a fanfic, though :p

i know the gws i think he would be neat, like have someone ask how he was deformed and he says"i pleaded insane" that thre will tell you he went through hell in arkham

I JUST GOT AN IDEA FOR KILLER MOTH!!!!!

Kind of...

Remember the fake Batmen at the beginning of TDK, in the scene with the Chechen and the Scarecrow? Well, at the beginning of Batman 3, a villain can appear dressed up like Batman but helping out some crooks. Leave him as a cameo. Not exactly Killer Moth per se, but it's definitely the Killer Moth's MO

I rather they do The Wrath.

Also why not have that dude who thinks he Zeus the God as a minor villian too.

Hey it was worth a shot... :D

The only problem with Maxie Zeus is the fact that he thinks he is a god. I can deal with him being a mob boss and nothing more. Rupert Thorne, Roman Sionis, and Albert Wesker would be much better options, though.

I think Zeus would be a great threat I mean he's a billionaire he's got technology so he could hold the city to ransom like he did in The Batman.

He rich like Bruce Wayne? I thought he was some average joe guy who was nuts in the head? Oh well.

I like him as a minor villian like Scarecrow was in Begins. Not a major villian.

Thorne should be the new Mayor of Gotham City but be a corrupt Mayor.

i think if there going to go with a character that would be so unrealistically unbelievable in the Nolan universe, something like that would probably be the best way to go about it. i really sincerely hope that they don't go with this character though. there are so many other characters that can show the
antithesis of batman. but i really just never liked manbat.

I'd rather Thorne be the new DA who goes on to be Mayor through the film.

I watched Punisher Warzone recently and i kind of feel that is the kind of movie we should be looking for batman 3...

Anyone watched Punisher Warzone?

Well let me retell the story changing the characters to batman characters...

Gotham: Warzone... LOL
Synopsis:
Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) has been the Batman for six years as the story opens. He assaults a "beat the rap" party for a mob boss, Ozworld Copplepot. Roman Sionis (Zachary Quinto) escapes to his chemical plant hideout, and Comissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), and Gotham Police Department, who were staking out the party, Gordon in private inform Batman. Batman infiltrates Sionis's hideout and kills one thug as he is exiting the bathroom. The gunshot alerts Sionis's, and a brief fire fight between Batman and him ensues. During the battle, Sionis is thrown into a chemical burning machine which ends up leaving the gangster hideously disfigured. Batman, who has taken cover behind the body of John Grayson, discovers that the first man he killed in the facility was an undercover FBI Agent.

News Reporter Vicki Vale (Jessica Biel), the friend of the deceased agent, Visits Gothams Police Department to research the "Batman Task Force", meeting with Gordon to help bring Batman to justice. Meanwhile, a facially mutilated Sionis now wearing a black mask, recovered from his run-in with the Batman, frees his deranged mob friend from Arkham Asylum, "Scareface" (Željko Ivanek), Sionis using a new alias - "Black Mask".

Distraught that he has become the evil he swore to battle, Batman attempts to make reparations to Grayson's wife, Jane and Son, Dick Grayson, to no avail. Batman considers retiring from the vigilante business, but reconsiders upon hearing information from his friend, Lucious, that Black Mask is going after Graysons family for revenge.

Black Mask, Scareface, and two goons, break into Graysons house and hold the family hostage. Meanwhile the Batman pursues KillerCroc (Vin Diseal), leader of a small group of criminals who are seen working for Sionis, Vicki Vale and Gordon arrive and attempt to Capture Batman and arrest him but are easily disarmed Batman warns Vale to leave him alone. Just as Batman is about to walk away, Vicki Vale gets up and handcuffs herself to the Batman. The Batman tells him that Black Mask went after Graysons family, but Vale requests gordon sends one police car to check on the Graysons house, intending to take the batman back to the station. When the patrol car fails to respond, she convinces Gordon to check on the house. Vale enters the house, and is caught by the two goons. Gordon frees the batman, who kills the goons. Gordon then arrests Black Mask and Scareface after a short gun fight.

Black Mask and Scareface escapes custody by giving up The Creep who was smuggling in a weapon to mobs in Gotham to the FBI, in exchange for total immunity, the money Grayson hid and a file on Lucas... We learn that Scareface learnt the identity of The Batman from The Joker in Arkham who figured it out after he was captured. They take lucas fox hostage, hire a small private army of criminals, including African-American gangbangers, Irish mobsters and Asian-American thugs; and then hole up in the Wayne Enterprises. Batman enlists the help of Gordon, who sets up a distraction for him at the Wayne Enteprises by offering up Black Mask to Creep's father, who sends in his goons to start a shootout in the lobby. Batman enters by jumping through a second-floor window, leading to a brutal firefight with Black Masks hired guns. After the shootout, Scareface attacks Batman. Quickly realizing that he will probably not survive the fight, Scareface runs off. Batman chases him and confronts Black Mask along with Scareface, both holding Lucias Fox and the Grayson family at gunpoint. Black Mask gives Batman a choice: If Bruce shoots Lucias, Black Mask will let the others go free. Lucas boldly offers his life to save the Graysons, but Batman chooses to shoot Scareface instead. As a result, Black Mask kills Jane Grayson then goes to kill Dick but has run out of bullets. Enraged by the loss, Batman attacks Black Mask, which ends with the Batman throwing Black Mask out of the window killing Black Mask, Batman calmly tells him that "This is just the beginning." Outside, Batman is forgiven by Vicki Vale after learning the truth and bids farewell to Gordon and the remaining Grayson, Dick.

After the credits we see Bruce Wayne meets with Vicki Vale and young Dick Grayson and requests because of the ordeal he suffered at Wayne Enterprises, Bruce wishes to Adopt Dick Grayson...

Thus leading to the idea of Robin in a possible batman 4?
