The Dark Knight Rises Ideas For Incorporating Characters Into the Nolanverse

I dont really care for Catwoman to be in the third movie but wouldnt be upset if she was but i just wanted to say that everythinf Infinity999x said about Catwoman as a character was 100% right. Also Joker definitely not a pawn and definitely no origin! Other stuff was cool tho i agree. Basically i dont care who is in the movie because i know itll be good regardless, Nolan hasnt just made these great Batman movies, hes just made them great movies period.

You bring up some good points but I like how the Black mask story with The False Face Society ties into the Joker appearance with his marred face I think that would be really cool. maybe not show it but show Black mask torturing someone else in a similar way. The Blue Flowers I thought were so cool in the first flick itd be nice to bring those back, and this story would easily tie down all three movies together so that you could watch each movie one after another and they would flow seamlessly.

I see what you're saying, and it would tie together nicely, but it would do it at the expense of the character of the Joker, and take away from what made him such a good villain to begin with. Not only that, but you take away from Joker's intelligence by making him a pawn.

Joker is just not a character that would willingly allow someone to manipulate him. Not only is it not in his character, he's simply too smart. The Joker was shown to have beaten Ras and Bane at chess in Arkham. Now, if you show Black Mask to have manipulated Joker in some way from the shadows, some subconsciously guiding his actions.

to be honest, BLACK MASK has so LITTLE originality it's going to be VERY HARD to put him into the third one ..... however most WERE used in the future

1: his origin story is so similar to THE PENGUIN (born into rich, self absorbed parents, fearful of what other people might think of the son)
2: JANUS (used in JUDGE DREDD) COSMETICS (used in the abortion called CATWOMAN)
3: how he actually becomes black mask = how harvey dent becomes two-face, AND in the burning Sionis abode (very batman begins) and even disfiguring Circe's face with chemicals relates to batman1989!
4: the masks idea is a good one, however THE DARK KNIGHT premepted that with the opening bank robbery scene

the point i'm making is that all the character's main points are already in use, it would almost feel like a rehash to me

not saying he's a bad character to use, just not that original .....

1. If the Penguin isn't used, is this a problem?
2. Does that matter?
3. Really not true at all. And character elements can be changed. Wayne Manor never burned down in the comics. Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent were never in love with the same woman in the comics. Etc. Furthermore, since the 1989 film isn't a part of this continuity, is it really still in use? Isn't this why Nolan was even allowed to use Dent and the Joker, who were given completely different backgrounds in the Burton/Schumacher films?
4. Not at all, either.

1)he was raised and forced out in the open by his parents, who he dispised i belive
2)janus cosmetics is a very diferent co than either of thise films
3)he only gets burned later in life, to begin with he wore a mask he carved from his motehrs ebony casket lid, wich he broke whe he broke into the mausileum after losing the company
4)that is irrelevent, batman wears a mask, and we would see him with an without the mask periodically depending ont the scene

to this
1. true, and it is generally believed that he murdered his parents
2. true, and janus is a god. and a good substitute would be janus inc. or industries
3.yep
4.black mask is simply anti batman, his parents were rich, he hated them, they did die but not by some mad mans hand, and they both use fear as a weapon.

Nolan could completely change BM's origin for all we know. He certainly hasn't been afraid to do that to is villains in the past.

I don't think we'll see BM's origin anyway. The only villain origin we've seen so far has been Two-Face and that's kind of unavoidable.

You could just have Black Mask as a psychotic mob boss with delusions of grandeur. Have him as a gangster, but a freakish gangster with little quirks or something. Show that the freaks are taking control of what was left of the mob.

I would like to see the transformation of roman sionis into black mask.

Throughout the film there has been black mask and there has been a rival ceo roman, and then it reveals at some point, roman then digs his fathers bones up and puts them in his house, and then burns it down. He welds the mask around his face.

I think Black Mask could be a very effective villain not in The Joker/Ra's role or the Scarecrow/Two-Face role, but certainly in a Falcone/Maroni role. Gangster business man with an affinity for masks wants Batman's for his collection and hires one of the many assassin characters that count themselves among Bat-rogues (Bane, David Cain, Deadshot, Deathstroke, etc.)

no deahtstroke but other than that great, It would be cool if he wants a certain prize from every victim, favorite watch, necklace, and so on.

Personally, the only origin that I'd like to see is Freeze's. Just because I think he's the only character that can match the tragedy we saw in Bruce and Dent.

true, most other characers are just ****ing nuts, noone else is really tragic, bm could definatly fir the mob boss role, and i would like to see his mask being carved of wood, maybe skull in shape or not
hers my whole post from earlier, bm is at the bottom
selina could be more or less a robin hood, stealing fromthe rich and using those riches to help the poor and down trodden of the gotham populace, she also gets a kick out of it, finding it fun and amusing

face it two face is dead

riddler:a former wayne enterprises employee obsessed with bruce wayne, and the rest of the wayne family. he becomes equally enthralled by the batman he begins to make assumptions and posting things on the internet and other places suggesting bruce is batman, not knowing how right he really is. he starts to do serious investigating and starts to link bruce and batman with serious evidence. when the police disregard the ramblings of a man in a neon green siut and gold cane, he becomes obsessed with revealing the identity of the batman

penguin: a rich socialite and owner of the iceburg lounge in gotham, he uses the above levels of the building to smuggle girls, guns, drugs and anything else if it payed well, he takes pride in the fact that he is the onlt person in gotham to have live animals in the confines of their business, his penguines

bm:first off that pic is ****in creepy! roman sionis is an old associate of bruces, they were playmates in childhood, co gradutes in highschool, and roomed together in college, roamn the entire time despising the waynes and hs parents for forcing socializing with them upon him, after wayne dosent rreturn after the murder of joe chill roman somes hom a grad and murders both parents, flawlessly, no evidence, no convition. when roman early bankrupts the family company on a bogus cosmetic, wayne offers to buy out roman to stabalizr the company, seeing waynes offer as an insult, he burns down the biulding and in his insanity breaks inot the family mauselium breking th eebony wood lid of his mother coffin, he sees his reflection in the wood and carves a face inot it, a dead face, a skull. nw he attempts to rebiuld the mob using anything left of the family fundsm keeping his activites a scret

Too bad Ra's already took the dead wife angle.

Whoa, they both sort of did. I hadn't thought of that. :funny: I guess Freeze would just continue the theme then. :cwink:

Refresh my memory how Ra's fit?

I know he had that angle in the comics, but I don't remember it being mentioned in Begins.

Everyone on that show will need to have their memory erased before meeting Superman. :hehe:

Well....Smallville Clark better start puckering up those lips....cuz he's gonna have to do ALOT of Amnesia Smooching....lol.......:hehe:

either that.....or he can make a deal with the demon Mephisto and have him retcon everything........:o

A long time ago, I was getting a Clayface idea watching this program about a man who lost his face and had to put in a replacement nose everyday. And it looked nearly believable that it was his real nose. Without the fake nose was a giant hole in his face. What if this was amped up and Clayface is a man without any features, but had many replacements, like a mr. potato head in a weird way. The cause could be an accident or even a skin disease that was cured after it already did the damage.

I wish I could find a youtube vid on this, it was really interesting.

When Bruce asks him why he joined the League of Shadows he says, "Like you, I was forced to learn there are people without decency," and he says he lost his wife. I can't remember the exact quote.

Ras said something like......."I wasn't always here in the mountains......I had a wife...once.....she was......taken from me...."

what Ras failed to tell Bruce was that he also had a hot daughter named Talia....who was single and available......y'know.....should Bruce decide to stay with the League of Shadows......

and if that couldn't convince Bruce to stay with the League....well....he is truly a lost cause........
