Hey Jon, do you know who the Incredible Hulk director is, if your going to be on the Comic-Con panel with him? I dont want to know, (I want it to be a suprise), but do you know? Cheers

Jon Favreau:

I know who it is. I think he/she will be there, Not positive, though. They will definitely announce.

Yep. So my scoop in the first post in this thread (or my good eye) revealed what we were all hoping! Yes yes yes yes yes! :)

I think I figured it out. It's gonna be Chris Columbus.

He was deep in talks for Namor but the project is so immense it's gonna be in development for a long time. He's friends with Avi and produced Fantastic Four as well. He not only has strong ties with Marvel but also with Universal.

I don't think he has many directing jobs lined up now. Mostly producing.

Hmmm interesting, if it is him only thing I would worry about is Marvel turning the movies into kids films, along with toned down action...
Other than that it's what I was hoping for, a guy that's done some big films.

Columbus makes great films suitable for kids and adults alike. Even his films aimed towards kids were fun for adults to watch. That's the kind of reach The Hulk needs to make to increase the box office. It doesn't need to be a kids film by any means but it also shouldn't be an intense pycho-drama either...if they want 200 million + domestically anyways. It should be not as light as Fantastic Four and not as heavy as X2. Just look at any Michael Bay film...that's the feel it should have.

Chris Columbus...hmmm... dont know, i hated his Harry potter films, they were too childish IMO but the guy can handle CGI well, i doubt it will be him though, just dont see it

Columbus?? Doesn't he already have 3 projects in the works for the future?

If it's a she, it could be the former Mrs. James Cameron, Kathryn Bigelow.

Her last movie was the mega-bomb, K-19.

No A-list or very respected director is going to do a Hulk sequel. It will be someone who's coming off some bombs like Chris Columbus or John Woo.

I think Uwe Boll should direct Hulk. **** if this flick is a sequel in the same continiuity as the first suck fest ,you may as well make it the biggest failure it can possibly be..:o

Her last good movie was Point Break. Blue Steel was decent but this is out of her league...I don't care who she used to be married to. I also really don't want to see the feminine take on The Hulk. LOL

It was ok but it's no mega-Summer blockbuster. I wonder if Zak Penn is gonna direct it now? I remember he wanted to direct the Avengers flick. Oh man.

I got chills thinking of the possibility of this post. If Boll was announced to be directing this trainwreck, I'd just chuck out all the Hulk paraphenilia I've ever owned. It would seriously be that bad an embarassment to admit I'm a fan.

Once again, it's not going to be a very respected or A-list director. It will be a director who's coming off some unsuccessful bomb or bombs.

It won't be Michael Bay because Michael Bay will never do a sequel to a movie that wasn't his.

James Cameron wipes the floor with Bay...except his Spider-Man stuff. :)

A bit off topic but imagine Sam Raimi switched franchies and came over to The Hulk. LOL

I can't imagine it because Raimi is smart enough not to do that.

Why is Michael Bay better than James Cameron?

The worst James Cameron movie is better than the best Michael Bay movie.

Terminator and Terminator 2. The director's cut of Abyss. Aliens.

These movies set standards. They created the bars. James Cameron made movies that became measuring sticks.

Bay doesn't make those movies.

Also, Cameron's Academy Awards and recognition in the artistic community also says he's better than Bay.

I question your depth of knowledgine in filmmaking for you to actually ask this question.
