It kinda looks like a Teaser for a Star Trek Movie made by Nolan...

But I kind of like it.

It's actually a really good trailer even though film footage is virtually non-existent

Just watching it again it's damn accurate how we as a society have lost the desire to explore beyond our own world.

Delicious. :D :p

This and the Godzilla trailer - Those are how you do a teaser trailer. And not a 'brrmmm... brrmmmm' to be heard. While still ominous, it's also very hopeful for a Nolan teaser. I find most of his movies to have that flavour, but it doesn't tend to be represented in their respective trailers. Hoyte's cinematography looks a little more saturated than Pfister's, too, interestingly.

Hans Zimmer gave me goosebumps. Awesome trailer and monologue. Might be my new training workout pump up song.

Really do love these teaser the more I think about it.

Could not have said it better myself.

It's more saturated but retains a sad coldness to it. Is there a term for that in photography?

The cinematropahy, despite the brief glimpses, are very Mallick. Must be the wheat fields.

Sometimes, I feel like the beauty of cinematography is somewhat lost with big movies. I always look at the Marvel Studios films*. As much as I love 'em, Stage 2 has some very flat looking visuals. And I'm not worried about the smaller films per say, like Her or 12 Years a Slave.

But when I see the beauty of Godzilla, Gravity, and this, there is always hope. It's going that extra mile.

*I hope Guardians of the Galaxy can steer them out of the usual Marvel 'look'.

Everyone keeps going on about Zimmers music... but do we know for sure that it is? Most movies don't have their score work recorded and mastered a year ahead of time.

I loved the teaser. I wasn't expecting much since it's still a year away.

Someone on Zimmer's website said that he asked Zimmer and the trailer music is by the man himself.

Inception did, as did some of TDKR. Hans confirmed he already was working on some themes, and somewhere earlier in this thread was a link saying this was part of Hans' new Interstellar score.

Inception's full trailer music was called "Mind Heist" and it was composed by Zack Hemsey. He wrote it based on music that Zimmer was working on for the film.

Yeah, it's definitely Zimmer. I would've known it was him even if it wasn't confirmed. His melodic sensibilities are so distinct to me.

Meanwhile, the 2014 budget compromise cuts NASA's budget to it's lowest level since 1972. The budget for space exploration as a percentage of total federal expenditures is at it's lowest level since 1959, one year after America's Sputnik Moment.

We need another dick waving contest with the Russians to jack those budgets back up. Or I guess maybe it'd be the Chinese these days.

The problem is that the political cycle (at least in the US) runs every 4 years, and the benefits that NASA does usually takes 10-20 years to come into fruition.

Not talking of that. But the "Inception Horn" music was done for the first trailer back in August of 2009. I'm not talking Mind Heist. Just the element for it.

I think theres something about this shot...idk...potential easter egg here maybe? Thoughts on this?

I really don't see anything. I googled some of the authors and nothing caught my eye.
