This one was a grower for me. First few times I watched it this morning, I was kinda like "Okay, here we go, another Nolan teaser that gives us nothing but I'm still excited 'cuz it's Nolan."

Then I watched again tonight and I got chills.

My point was that Nolan's name has grown to the point where it registers with the average moviegoer. He's not just the guy famous for making Batman movies, he also made Inception which was huge.

It'll all be a moot point when this movie rakes in tons of dough. This teaser didn't even show off the movie's impressive cast. It's all gonna snowball once they actually start revealing footage.

The average person might get excited for the moment, perhaps because of Nolan's name. But quite quickly be forgotten because of how little it shows. But yeah, its not gonna hurt the box-office of the movie.

Oh I did. Interstellar was the first trailer that played and Godzilla was the last and both got the best responses from my audience.

Regarding the theme presented in the trailer (we being pioneers , proud of our achievements) i definitely recommend the For All Mankind documentary , which presents a great portrait of our achievements in space exploration. Accompanied with some great Brian Eno musical compositions.

I'm wondering if how one feels about the underlying message in the trailer is influencing their reaction. As someone who's a space nerd and has studied just about every major event in manned space travel I find the message inspiring and thought provoking and 100% accurate. If you're someone who's not really into that I can kinda see how it might look a little bland.

Aside from my man crush on MM, there is another reason I'm looking forward to this movie.

If you're someone who's not really into that I can kinda see how it might look a little bland.

Certainly, Nolan films tend to have very specific themes, so if you don't buy into the themes, it's hard to buy into the movies.

Interstellar looks like it will be more of a Star Trek film than the JJ Abrams reboot films.

Wow, I hadn't thought of it that way, but based on the themes expressed in the teaser that is 100% accurate.

Yeah, I mean...a teaser is really like the first dream level of an inception. They've still got the second (trailer 1), third (trailer 2) and fourth (actual movie) levels to make the idea stick. Followed by the inevitable limbo of people arguing forever over whether it's a masterpiece or overrated.

This is a teaser only. It's to let people know there is a new movie coming out. So now when someone talks about it, instead of the person saying oh he is making another movie they'll say oh yeah the space movie he is making

I think Nolan is doing a twist on the old Andy Griffith TV show Salvage One. It was about a man who built his own Rocket Ship and went to the moon. He built the rocket out of stuff from his junk yard.

In this version Matthew McConohey uses bio fuel made from his own corn and turns a grain silo into a spaceship. LOL

As this is based off the officially released synopsis I don't think this is a spoiler:

It is about a group of scientists and explorers who embark on traveling through time-and-space via wormholes (of the Kip Thorne theoretical variety) to reach another galaxy in hopes of saving humanity.

I will not go into how exactly that works or why they are on this mission.

The teaser definitely seems to imply that we're having a major agricultural problem (the inability to grow a number of necessary crops) back on Earth. I haven't read the script so I could be completely wrong but that's my theory as to why we need to find a different galaxy/wordline to traverse into so we can bring back the resources to Earth.

Using the set pics we've had it looks like dust storms are almost a daily occurrence in this story. The trailer hints at that with the dust bowl footage and the debris/dust on the book shelf.

The scene of the crops on fire was beautifully shot.

Everything ties back to corn
