I hope we get a decent amount of screentime in space. I can see a Contact experience where the space stuff is only just the last 20 minutes or so.

The original script has about 70% in space but I think they expanded the Earth scenes so who know now how much are the space scenes.

Beautiful, wonderful. Right in the feels.

That was a fantastic trailer. The wormhole looked AMAZING :wow: :wow:

Wow in English and good quality I can change my views it does have a Wow factor to it.

Such a brilliant brilliant concept which I hope they nail.

Don't worry. Everything was from act 1.

I'm not jumping out of my seat or anything... but it was effective enough.

A nice emotional story, with a unique sci-fi bent for Nolan. That's enough to sell it to me... but I wonder if this trailer will be enough for the general public?

Space scenes had a visual imposingness that surprised me. Sorry Wally.

A little schmaltzy , but very expected considering this was a spielberg project..

Probably not, but it's not the final trailer either. Hell, my showing of Godzilla didn't even have it. They were too busy showing trailers for stuff like The Giver, Edge of Tomorrow, and so forth. The general audience won't even start paying attention until 4-5 months down the road.

I do expect Trailer 3 to have a lot more visual effects. Paramount and WB are gonna want to get their money back on that production cost. They're not going to let Nolan keep the visuals entirely under wraps until it opens. At least I wouldn't expect them to, but who knows. Nolan has become pretty powerful with the studios.

this is not a franchise. this is not a movie based on a book or comicbook. it doesnt have to make money. it needs to be the movie it was written to be. :yay:

thats the whole point of TDK's and TDKR's 1 billion boxoffice. so that after that you can make a movie that no studio would ever make. a movie that on paper and in the trailer looks like it will underperform.

While WB might see it that way, Paramount gained zero of the profit from TDK/TDKR. They had no reason to give him a big budget for this movie unless they felt it was likely to turn a profit.

Looks damn good, Mackenzie Foy looks like she's going to give a heartbreaking performance, Matt looking great as always.

Damn you, Nolan! Why must you tease me with such epicness and emotions!:argh:

Looks great. I have to say, visually it still looks very in line with Nolan's other films. I wouldn't have guessed that Wally was gone if I didn't know it.

It's all the more stirring, knowing how much they're holding back. The wormhole looked so cool. Anything outer space in IMAX pretty much means I'm there, add Nolan to the mix and you've got a hell of a combination.

The trailer didn't show much but it has clues on one of the things I thought they would hide for now about a certain character. I'm seeing it being correctly guessed now on different sites. :funny:

Looks great it looks like 2001 with feels.

See here that TARS is written on the closing door.

Trailer did nothing for me, looked OK I guess but I wasn't blown away. It didn't look like his other films to me, not that that's a negative but it definitely didn't look like his other films to me.

Will reserve judgement for the film of course.

This is a point I've been trying to make for years but no one listens. :oldrazz:

Wally is talented, but Nolan has a distinctive visual style in all of his movies. He shot Following on his own and with literally no budget other than the film stock. Yet it has the same visual feel to it as the movies Wally shot with millions of dollars. Wally is a talented guy, but look at Moneyball. Visual appearance is much weaker than his work with Nolan.

I think this is the one area where Nolan is actually underrated as a filmmaker. He knows what he wants and he consistently gets great results in this area, whether he shoots it himself or has someone else do it.
