This just happened. Christopher Nolan just screened his new film #interstellar with his whole crew! Got to meet and greet with one of my favorite filmmakers of all time!!! #christophernolan #hanszimmer #warnerbros #director #film #filmmaker #roughcut #prescreening

I need to know if Nolan is wearing a vest. :awesome:

Whoa, this is the first I'm hearing of that, but if true, my anticipation just went through the roof on that one. :wow:

I can't personally confirm it, but I have links to the industry and this has been floating around for awhile. It's also now hit the web apparently. Also, if you re-watch the trailer, every shot in the trailer has camera movement and looks to be part of a longer take.

Oh, how I wish I could have been in that screening!

Guessing whatever that screening was it had a strict embargo no idea if that guy liked it or not but going by the exclamation marks I'd say they were pretty pumped.

Good sign that they're confident enough to screen it so early.

Well now that we know where those reports (the hearsay from Edgar Wright and others who knew someone who saw it) are coming from, I'm not gonna put much stock into them since these are crew members who worked on it sharing their thoughts. That said, I think this will be amazing. :D

PSA: New Interstellar trailer will be attached with Hercules next Friday. Clocks in at 2:25.

Hopefully it'll be a bit more interesting. I wasn't blown away by the other trailers.

I feel pretty confident that this one will have more money shots.

I said this a year ago and I'll say it again now, you guys should all read the popular book by Interstellar executive producer and world-leading physicist Kip S. Thorne entitled Black Holes and Time Warps:

It's a book written by the general population, not for physicists. I was the teaching assistant of an undergraduate course that was a "science for non-science students" course that used the book as the main reference. It's a great text that goes over a lot of developments in 20th century physics in an understandable manner, including how the US and USSR developed their nuclear weapons program from which Kip Thorne was removed by only one degree of separation, and he talks a lot about black holes and time warps. There are very few people alive who can distill this information in a comprehensible manner to the educated layman, and Thorne is one of them.

There is this brilliant, beautiful chapter at the end where he solves the grandfather paradox, or rather he describes the solution developed by physicist Joseph Polchinski and his students.

The idea was to use a billiard ball instead, to get around the problem of free will which is just confusing nonsense. What happens if you fire a billiard ball into a time machine such that it can come out three seconds before it enters and knock itself off-course? It turns out that this is impossible to do. You cannot fire the billiard ball into the time machine such that it knocks itself off-course and prevents itself from entering the time machine.

Looks like the.....slight reaction to the second trailer has galvanized WB into action swiftly.

Edit: I just took a stroll around Nolanfaps, and it might be a false alarm.

Stay tuned.

Good, 3D is for children...

Hitchcock shot in 3D.

3D is not for every film obviously but don't put it down as a whole when all of our great filmmakers working today have incorporated it. Nolan might in the future as well.

3D will be important and substantial for gaming... Film should stay away.

Warner imposed that.
