wouldnt it make sense that an US studio makes then DBZ since people in america only know DBZ?lol that wasnt my advice. Dragonball might have been rushed a little bit, but thats not the point. The movie looks good and interesting. Piccolo character according to the script is really awesome. I think James Masters is going to make a great performance in this one.
This is the beginning and the introduction, you are expecting a DBZ-type of movie and this isnt DBZ, this is Dragonball. Thats the problem with most people in the USA, they only knew DBZ, so they are expecting Super Saiyans and Vegeta and Frieza and Cell already, they are expecting DBZ fights in mid air, super speed, etc. That didnt happen on DB, and this movie is based on DB.
Enjoy the movie.
It seems the optimists have only friends who like the trailer and haters have friends that spit on it.I got pretty much optimism except from one guy.
In conclusion, this movie looks good and will be a hit.
Who cares if DB was rushed? The first X-Men movie was rushed and it turned out well..I think this movie will be on par with the first X-Men movie.
JP´s and Jappo´s forums, their blogs, youtube, this forum, and many more in spanish you wouldnt understand anyway. I visit like many sites per day (I use the internet a lot), im not going to bother, and I dont care what 3 or 4 haters think lol.
Trailer is getting positive reactions, im really happy about it. This movie is going to be a hit, a new era in DB and DBZ history has begun.![]()
I doubt that this will be a hit domestically on account of poor scheduling. There are just too many other movies that will be out when Dragonball comes out like Hanna Montana for example.
I think it's going to come down to the international numbers to determine on whether or not it's a hit.
Fan sites don't count. I'm talking about big sites. Youtube? There's no positive reaction on Youtube. Even if there is, it's very small. You're not exactly convincing me here. I think you're making stuff up to be honest. I don't believe for one second that you visit any other sites besides this one and JP's site.
youtube?... hahahaha I see only the same people on youtube on every video that has to do with DB:E and that's DTX and his little gang....
if you hate this movie so much mind as well join them, hell I'm quite sure you'll get along really well
I like DTX, he is a funny guy, and I admire his dedication to something that is really not worth the effort, I also admire the fact that he believes Dragonball is HIS and only HIS, he is the only fan worthy of being called a...fan
but anyways
I don't think you realise that Hanna Montana is freaking huge in the United States. Hannah merchandise is freaking everywhere. Parents spend thousands of dollars for crappy seats to take their little girls to concerts. Even Rod Blagojevich went to her concert and watched every episode. Right now, Hannah Montana is bigger than Dragonball in terms of merchandising and popularity. It will be the #1 film for it's week slot and maybe even more.Hanna who? lol![]()

I guess... although I doubt the fan base is the same.
i agree with you, hippy_hunter. if DB:E is going to be successful, it won't be because of America.......which is why i think it was a mistake to cater this towards Americans in the first place.
I guess... although I doubt the fan base is the same.
Edit: I know we need regular movie goers for this to become a hit. Im sure DB will do ok in the USA.
There's no problem with catering to an American audience. For a lot of films, the domestic box office is still the place where a lot of films make the most of their money for the studio and is the largest film market there.
They just catered to the American market in the wrong way. They should have put it in a better time slot away. And honestly, in live action, Dragon Ball looks really rediculous. A CGI film would have probably worked much better.
Wow...I never knew all those great movies were coming out so close to DB.Looks like the international crowd is gonna have to make major bucks for a sequel.I don't think you realise that Hanna Montana is freaking huge in the United States. Of course Hannah Montana is more of a fad and will fade away once Miley Cyrus gets older and gets even trampier.
With Fast and Furious, Hannah Montana, Monsters vs. Aliens, and some theaters will still be playing Watchmen there is just far too much competition in the United States for Dragonball Evolution. And it won't last very long in theaters because May will be filled with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek, Angels and Demons, Night at the Museum 2, Terminator Salvation, and Up. It'll be very challenging for Dragonball Evolution to be successful domestically. It's going to most likely come down the international box office for its success to be determined like Fox's films from 2008 were.
