Was this the prototype they built for flyby? or the burton film?

Thats 100% the flyby suit. There are some more pics floating around of it as well.

Here's something I did of it...

See for me that balance exists perfectly when Martha fashions the suit from the blankets Lara wraps her infant son in. We have the perfect balance of Earth and Krypton, plus we have an endearing commonality that exists across interstellar space.....a mother's love.

The concept of the total Kryptonian nature of the suit seems emotionless and cold in comparison, and it strikes no balance whatsoever.

The Concept of Superman wearing a kryptonian suit has been present in canon for a long time, how can you be supes fans and have a problem with it..Many seem to forget that Ma kent designed Supermans previous costume after Kryptonian fashion-so it did honor supermans kryptonian heritage-it was simply a kryptonian suit made by Ma kent..Superman wears a kryptonian suit in Birthright,Silver age Origin, new 52 origin if im not mistaken.Thats practically all of Supermans origins save Byrnes and Golden age.So Superman suit honoring kryptonian heritage is not anything new but has been part of canon 4 a long time.

As long as it's an aesthetical improvement to the classic, I'm good,I just don't think we've seen it yet. They've gotten close, but missed some obvious modernizations.

Actually, the boots were blue as well; it was an all-blue suit.

Has anyone ever manipped the Flyby suit with red boots, yellow belt etc? I'd be interested to see what it looked like.

Just come across this:-

I assume that's both the same suit and the same guy as in that previous Flyby pic?

I realised that after I posted it

Can't believe I missed it when I was doing it lol guess I'm just so used to Supes having red boots!

As for this costume, I think it is too corny. But I thought I would for just post it for some nostalgia.

If they were working on this suit for flyby which was in development before returns why did they go with this suit instead of that one? It's not like the returns suit was a direct replica of the reeves suit anyways even though that was the vibe of the movie.

Director's prerogative? From what I understand, Singer had carte blanche on "Returns," and he and his team were able to mine the accumulated materials from past attempts to supplement their own original stuff, but that's not to say they were under directive to must-use any particular suit (as far as I'm aware).

I think the Flyby suit is badass, I would have loved to see it used for a film.

Flyby suit looks like a retooled Batman Forever costume. Gotta love the plastic raincoat cape, bet that **** would look great flapping in the wind. (wipes blood from eyes)

Ha! It's like he had a sponge on his belt.

Nah, bar of soap my friend. Bar of soap.

I have made a quick manip of FlyBy suit... just to see how it looks with red boots.

I wouldn't mind if they used this flyby suit for Justice League movie.

Looks like Batman's suit painted blue. Supes should have his own muscles, IMO.

To be fair the MOS costume has its fair share of muscle enhancing features. Not to say cavill didn't get jacked but muscle definition is hard to show through fabric without certain enhancements and padding.
