Maybe I just don't think there was enough in QoS that resinates with me, though it's far from the worse in the series. At least it's not boring which is my beef with the worse Bond movies. Even with the okay Bond movies, like The Living Daylights, the pacing slows down too much in some parts.
QoS just feels kind of thin. It speeds along and never quite enjoys itself enough and in the process you miss out on some great characters.I never really got the sense that Quantum of Solace was too short. There were many other problems with that film, but Bond doesn't really need to be long. If anything, I thought Casino Royale was a little too long.
The so-called Holy Trinity of Bond films (Dr. No, From Russia with Love, and Goldfinger) are all under two hours.
It is ok, but it feels like a huge letdown after Thunderball imo. Thunderball was the big event movie. YOLT tried to do it again, but it didn't really come close.I think You Only Live Twice is underrated though Sean was phoning it in. It does have the most iconic moments in the series, with the volcano hideout and this version of Blofeld. Arguably the best version besides Telly's.

Dr. No= Thriller
FRWL= Espionage
Goldfinger= Action
Thunderball= Event
YOLT= ?
Future Austin Powers fodder. It sucks the story didn't match the gorgeous cinematography, the beautiful music, and the whole feel of Japan.
