^ That painting from EW is great justice.

Reposting this facebook cover I made a while back in hour of the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No.

As I've questioned before, is it really possible to achieve that pose that is in Dalton's promo art? Are the photos of Craig also just for promo art and not the actual gunbarrel?

If you look at Dalton's promo art, not only does he have to pivot on his right leg but then slide it out wide and bring his left arm up. He couldn't even do that for his own gunbarrel walk, because it's not natural for him to get into that pose from a walk from the right to the left of your screen. The promo art looks more like it comes from a walk from the left to the right.

My understanding is that the gunbarrel photos in the book are from them filming the scene. Supposedly, the caption on each photo refers the scene number in Skyfall that is being filmed. I completely understand your issues with Dalton's pose. I think that those describing the pose's appearance just mean that Craig's pose is overall similar in appearance - ie. stance is wider and his arm is spread for balance.

Watching Craig on Fallon now.

Fallon: What is Skyfall?

Craig: I want to save it. (Doesn't want to talk about it)

(Joke):

Fallon: How long is it?

Craig: The movie?

Clip looks crazy, it's from a larger set piece that we've seen in the trailer.

Just watched Dr. No, its not as polished as FRWL or Goldfinger but its still solid. First time I've seen it since I was a kid.

Lol that is both badass and hillarious that Bond just tears the roof open like that. Bond, like the honey badger, doesn't give a ****!

Ok this is badass! Excellent trailer using Muse's Supremacy.

That clip shows how action should be directed. You can see everything that's going on! Take that, QoS!

Recently, I figured Chris Cornell's "You'll Know My Name" was the closest to it.

Cornell's is my favourite out of them all. It's louder and more hard hitting than most, which to me was perfect for this new rendition of Bond (at the time, Daniel Craig's first outing) who seemed more serious and deadly than those who came before him. It wasn't a sultry song, or one which built to a crescendo ...... it opened with a bang, just like how Casino Royale did.

Of course, I'm also a Cornell fan and love the song anyway because of it's words and melody, regardless of the fact it's a 007 song :D

The new Adele one is pretty good, listened to it this morning a few times and again it seems to have that signature Bond theme feel to it.

I've got an album of all the Bond songs and it's interesting how in recent years most of them have managed - sometimes in a subtle way, other times not so subtle - to weave the signature Bond theme from Dr No into their melody, along with other sections used in instrumentals from Bond films over the years. I play guitar and often I never even realised it until I was playing along and actually analysing what I was playing. This Adele song does it, as did Jack White/Alicia Keys and also Chris Cornell. There's a Bond 'DNA' which you can almost feel in every song.

I just heard the new song from Adele. Man that's utter pants isn't it?

This is one of the comments on the Guardian page:

Let the skyfow
When it crumbows
We will stand tow
Terribow.
This truly, truly dreadfow.
Horribow.
Frightfow.

Although I don't agree with the assessment, I do agree that it sounds like Adele is singing "Let the Skyfow, when it crumbows we will stand tow and face it ow together."

Does she always have this odd pronounciation on all her songs? I think she needed to emphasise the "L" on the end of those words more prominently.

She has a song called Rolling in the Deep. She refuses to say deep, but rather says Deeeeeee-eeee-eeeeee....

Also she can't sing.

I like it a lot a better than Jack White/Alicia Keys song. She can sing.

I realize everyone has different taste in music but this is just completely wrong. Whether or not you care for her music, it's undeniable that she has an incredible voice. It's just not your cup of tea. And that's okay.

But yes, she most definitely can sing.

I'm not the biggest Adele fan but I wouldn't go as far saying see can't sing.

She is one of the few female pop singers around these days who can actually sing. Just look at all those auto tuned pop tarts on the radio right now.

If anything I wished Adele went harder. She should of belted it out on the high notes like Shirley Bassey did.

They dropped the ball by using The Bond Theme. Each film has its own musical identity. And the Song almost always uses the film's theme as its instrumental. This is something John Barry made as a rule going back to Goldfinger. So, I don't know whose bright idea it was to diss Thomas Newman. If they didn't want to use Newman's composition then they should have created their own instead of taking the lazy route.

Given it's the 50th anniversary, they get a pass for using the Bond theme.

Love the song. Craig finally gets his bluesy tune for one of his Bond films.
