Why are people speculating on a Nolan directed Bond? Why must we suggest Nolan for everything?

People are speculating on a Nolan directed Bond because we know his love for Bond, we know how it has influenced his own movies and how his vision has influenced Skyfall.
I don't think we must suggest or talk about Nolan all the time, but this time, I think it's totally justified.

Nolan's Bond

Bond (to Blofeld) - 'Where were the other nuclear missiles going?!!!'

We need a Tommy Wiseau directed Bond film, starring Tommy Wiseau as Bond.

Mendes specifically cited inspiration from Nolan's films, wrote and filmed in a somewhat similar style. Nolan himself has expressed interest in the possibility and has strong Bond influences in his own work.

Unlike every single other discussion about Nolan directing things here on the hype, his style is actually somewhat relevant here.

That said, the major difference between Mendez directing this film and Nolan's films is that Mendez knows how to shoot a damn fight scene. Or maybe its the difference between Pfister and Deakins.

To be fair, the framing of the Bane v Bats sewer fight is pretty darn good.

It was better but not that great and I was undwhelmed by their final fight.

And for what it's worth, Bond and whomever he fights doesn't have to wear burdensome rubber that renders most of his movement clunky and quite frankly, goofy looking. I think Batman needs to ditch the rubber armor before we see a decent fight scene from him.

How about a Whedon-directed Bond? :funny: Q can turn into Topher from Dollhouse, Craig's Bond will probably become Adam Baldwin more than Nathan Fillion, Moneypenny will probably be Willow or Fred, and Ralph Fiennes' M will be Giles or Wesley. At least we'd get more focus on the Bond girl though, who would be written as a strong character but not the cliched "Bond's equal" schtick.

Whedon Bond- Lots of quirky pop culture influenced dialogue. Moneypenny would save the world.

Nolan- Bond can't remember who he is and to make matters worse he's stuck in a prison. The movie will start with the ending and go backwards.

Actually that would work pretty well to have the gun barrel at the end since the ending is the beginning

Actions scenes would involve the L.A freeway or Chicago tunnels. A 16 wheeled vehicle will be involved in SOME way.

Nolan's Bond would be filled with political commentary, dry cuts and trucks.

The whole Nolan Bond film thing...

If anything, I think Sam Mendes made, aside from striving to make a realistic movie, something of the opposite of the Bond film Nolan would have made, regardless of any "influences" he may have stated he took from Nolan. For all the nods to the franchise and its history, this really wasn't so much a typical Bond film in many respects. I suspect Nolan's Bond film would have been much larger in scale, and a heck of a lot less subtle than Mendes' film, and probably more like the classic Bond films.

i think nolan is associated with bond because he's been very public about his love for the franchise.

also he took quite a few things/scenes directly from bond and put high octane versions of them in the batman trilogy.

i recently watched some bond movies and its quite funny when you see exactly the same shot from TDK or TDKR in an old bond flick ^^.
For example the Skyhook system in Thunderball or the plane hijacking in licence to kill.

and there is much more..

Bruce himself is inspired by Bond you can just tell. I think it's obvious that they also made Fox his Q as well. I love their dynamic together.

Please..NO to Nolan. His work is just far too sterile feeling...and Bond is anything but...er...sterile. hehe
