Loved the silhouette fight scene and Deakins of course did a great job on this film.

I was slightly disappointed in the fight scenes and coordination however.....they were not as good or as intense as Casino Royales fight scenes and coordination IMO.

The action scenes throughout Casino Royale are some of the best I've ever seen.

I think the action in Casino is what pushes it ahead of Skyfall for me.

Casino had some of the greatest action scenes I've seen on film, particularly the construction chase. Skyfall was still great in it's action though. The opening and silhouette fight were fantastic, as was the big final standoff.

Got back from Skyfall a little while ago. Main thing I have to say is, GODDAMN ROGER DEAKINS YOU DA MAN! :awesome: The scene where Silva approaches Skyfall Manor and they're losing a ton of light, I was wondering how they were gonna handle lighting the rest of the scene and woooo! :awesome: Also, of course, the Shanghai fight scene. Super-cool. :word:

Skyfall now the first ever Bond movie to surpass $200 million domestically. And still going strong.

$250 million domestic anybody? Maybe even more at this point. Probably easily breaks $800 million worldwide I think.

So Skyfall was finally released this weekend here and man what a movie. It is like the perfect mix of modern action movie and classic Bond film. I'm still tossing up whether I like this more than CR, but this is definitely close to if not my favourite Craig film and is already in my top 5 Bond movies. I also love how everything in this film builds up to a return of the status quo for the franchise after a few films dabbling in the more action film area, I'm very excited to see where Bond 24 takes us from here on in. 9/10

The only problem I found was how much the exposition kept hammering in the Old and the New theme. Started to annoy at some stages but it was still awesome.

I just saw it and loved it! Silva was terrifying! I love the clothes!

I only had two complaints.

1. M is the head of one of the best spy agencies in the world. Why would she shine a torch light around while running away from a nutjob terrorist?

2. Gee, women got a rough job in this movie!
Severin dies, M dies, the only one who survives is Eve and that's because she agrees to live a life serving the new male M, bringing him coffees and making him sandwiches (well not really but you get my point)

Can't wait for the next one!

Wait, really? That's surprising, I always figured the average Bond flick pulled in around $300-400 million domestically. Guess he isn't as big of a cash cow over here as I expected.

Everything Bond touches withers and dies. :oldrazz:

Complaint no.1- erm, because it was dark?

$250M domestic and $800M worldwide are locked at this point. Think higher.

I'm confused about Q Branch. Silva mentions Q Branch as though it was there when he was an agent. Q himself mentions that they don't make exploding pens anymore - again, referencing that Q Branch has always been there. Why then hasn't Bond used Q Branch in the previous films..?

Hmm well I want to say $300 million but I'm not sure if it can make that high. That's pretty unprecedented for the Bond franchise as well.

Either way, happy to see how successful this one has become.

Honestly what I sort of see happening now is that people are going to the movies less so they will go to about 5 movies a year and they will pick big spectacle like this.

You have to remember that the most popular ones came out in the 60s.

Adjusted for inflation Goldfinger and Thunderball are both over $500 million domestically.

Yeah but I mean just figure the last two Craig movies really did comparable business if you think about it to the last Brosnan movie with adjusted inflation and all that.

Even with inflation and adjusted ticket prices, Skyfall far outdoes any of the previous Craig movies AND Brosnan movies.

No, it was still pretty dumb.

At very least, they should've just hid in the fields until Bond finished Silva.

It looked very cold to be hiding out in the open for a couple of 70yr olds..

As of today, Skyfall surpasses Moonraker to become the 4th most successful Bond film of all time. And at the rate it's going, it'll surpass You Only Live Twice as well.

Adjusted for inflation:

Thunderball - $594 million
Goldfinger - $526.4 million
YOLT - $285 million
Skyfall - $226.2 million

That is only domestic. Pretty sure Skyfall is already #1 in terms of Worldwide/ Overall Boxoffice.

He might well have been referring to MI6 in general.

We did see some gadgets utilized in CASINO ROYALE, with the tracking device, etc. Q branch probably works largely behind the scenes.

Thunderball is still #1. $966 million worldwide. People tend to forget that Thunderball was the Star Wars/LOTR/Harry Potter/Batman/Spider-Man of its day. No Bond film is ever gonna match it -- unless a truly special/unique installment is released.

Ticket Sales

Thunderball - 78.4 million
Goldfinger - 66.3 million
You Only Live Twice - 35.9 million
Skyfall - 28.4 million
Moonraker - 28 million

Ticket Sales per actor

Sean Connery - 266.5 million (6 movies + Never Say Never Again)
Roger Moore - 135.4 million (7 movies)
Pierce Brosnan - 103.6 million (4 movies)
Daniel Craig - 77.2 million as of 11/25/12 (3 movies)
Timothy Dalton - 21.7 million (2 movies)
George Lazenby - 16 million (1 movie)
