there is still gonna be hold over from other countries etc.
The film was released on October 26th. Other countries are pretty much done. For Skyfall to reach a billion, it's gonna have to rely on those three markets you mentioned.
For a Bond movie to be doing these numbers right now in this day and age is pretty impressive.
It IS impressive. There is no doubt about it. Skyfall deserves a lot of credit for its accomplishments... but so do the other two gorillas in the room. Goldfinger and Thunderball may have been released in an era where cinema dominated but that doesn't mean every single film was a giant hit. In fact, it's the opposite. Only a handful managed to do so. People like to dismiss Gone with the Wind, but besides Wizard of Oz, what other movie from 1939 is still in the record books? You gotta give these old movies credit as well.
