If "Skyfall" wins Best Original Song (which it looks like it might), it'll be the first Bond song to do so.

Congrats to Skyfall on the 4 nominations.

What are the other three nominations it got?

Best cinematography
Best sound editing
Best sound mixing

It really does deserve cinematography. *Crosses fingers*

Didn't stop them giving it to Avatar. More CGI also means more required ingenuity to light that scene.

I must say I am surprised Thomas Newman got a nom. I thought the score was adequate but nothing special.

Roger Deakins has been nominated 10 times now for an Oscar. They should just give him the damn thing already.

Having Adele receive an Oscar would surely be a highlight the next morning

....As would all 6 Bond actors on stage

And Deakins getting an Oscars.

This is Bond's chance to be a big contender at the Oscars.

Congrats on the noms, really well deserved.

He's fine and he's slightly better than David Arnold, who gets weird love here. His only score that I liked was Casino Royale's, but the rest are generic stuff.

I agree with everything. I like CR, but other than that I don't really like David Arnold either. I felt like Newman was a step up from Arnold,

I think it just comes down to Arnold not putting enough of the theme in his scores until CR. I love hearing the instrumental of the chorus in the score.

BTW we still haven't heard anything about the next Bond film. Makes me think hey won't meet the 2014 deadline and they'll (wisely) wait till 2015 (Despite the crowded year.) I also have a prediction about 2015: WB will push back Justice League to 2016.

Probably for both.

EON recently said they were going to take their time for the next Bond movie and I think another year could help the franchise.

The 'Every Two Year' model won't work if they want good movies out of the franchise in this day and age. Especially EON has to write up new stories since the Bond books are all used up.

It's been seen that taking breaks longer than two years has benefited the Bond franchise multiple times.

If they started cranking out the movies every two years like during Moores run then they'll run into fatigue and sloppy movies that really should be deleted from the Bond franchise.

The problem with the Moore movies if you watch them back to back is that they stuck to the Bon formula to a fault and they all felt like remakes of the same movie. The narrative template was so familiar that all they had to do was fill in the blanks with new settings or characters. Like a game of Ad Libs.

Bah lame it didn't get more for such a great acclaimed movie. Sorry guys but Academy Awards are still a joke.

Perks of Being a Wallflower doesn't get recognized for best adapted screenplay for example.

Tired of this stupid clique-y popularity contest.
