The people that didn't see anything wrong with QoS I wonder if you've watched all of the previous 21 Bond movies.

I don't see anyone actually saying that there wasnt anything wrong with QoS.

Most seem to say that it was either passable/watchable/enjoyable inspite of having numerous, obvious flaws which is a perfectly opinion to have; even if a person has watched all the films. Hell, personally for me, even the absolute worst Bond films have at least one or two features which make them interesting to a degree.

It's a good scene, no doubt about it. Stealing a performer's tux seemed like a very Craig Bond thing to do, and breaking off the door handle always raises a smile for me. In that piece of dialogue you mention, Mr. White remaining in his seat and saying Tosca isn't for everyone is pretty cool, too. Bond wouldn't have even known he was there.

Having watched QoS recently, I find myself much preferring the final 20 minutes of QoS to The Opera House. The Opera House Scene feels like it is trying far too hard to be minimalistic and art house. The quick cuts and stupidity of all involved in the scene, including Bond, really brings the scene down for me.

Still with all of its problems, QoS is still one of the best Bond movies. I'd say there are only like 8 or 9 "good" Bond films. I count QoS amongst them.

Good list. My issue with The World is Not Enough is that it could have easily been an elite Bond movie because it takes risks and those risks work, but only to an extent, and the annoying parts of the movie (Denise Richards, Renard, cheesy dialogue, etc.) drag it down even more.

Completely agree with your assessment of TWINE. There is a good film crying out to fly, but some bad decisions really hurt it. But I love Marceau and the return of Valentin so much, I include it.

The only Moore film I can even tolerate is The Spy Who Loved Me.

It's understandable. I like Live and Let Die and think it's a good movie despite several things:

- The bad intro to Moore's Bond
- The writing not helping his case by not having Bond kick someone's ass the first half hour
- Sheriff Pepper
- Boat chase scene's too long

But Moore has some great moments (like when points the gun that woman and bus chase scene). Also, I love the Blaxploitation presentation and music.

For Your Eyes Only isn't that bad either.

I just can't take Moore seriously. He is so feeble looking and his acting isn't any better. Whatever good there is in the films is just crushed by how much I dislike Moore as Bond.

He drops someone off a roof, shoots a guy in the balls, and has one of the most awesome scenes in the whole series in the beginning ski chase.

I think it is a little hard to pick the "best" scene in Bond films. I tend to find the quirky stuff most enjoyable when it comes to Bond. Like in Thunderball when Bond nonchalantly shows how good of a shot he is, or in Casino Royale when Bond checks out his DBS and P99.

If I had to pick a scene, I'd probably go with Bond v. Obanno; from the moment Bond leaves the table, to you see Vesper asleep in the bed. The look on Vesper's face when Bond pulls his P99 from the envelope says it all. For the first time ever on film, the man is a true killer.

Also really like Bond v. Vesper when she won't give him the money to buy back in.

Let me put it this way. It would be liking casting Shia Labeouf as Raylan Givens. He could do all the same incredibly badass things the character always does and it wouldn't matter. I can't imagine believing or enjoying a moment of it.

I think that's a very unfair comparison. It's not like Moore is boy playing a man's role. Moore does a great job at making the fight scenes believable. I love the cockiness Moore's Bond gives off while also playing it straight for most of TWSLM unlike the previous two outings.

This is true. Even Moonraker, DAF and DAD have some cool parts to them.
