As I said the first time I saw her, Berenice Marlohe is the new Monica Belluci, the kinda woman that makes you believe in love at first sight!

The new Bond girl looks like a less attractive/beautiful version of Olga Kurylenko. A step back in the looks and talent of the last two lead Bond girls.
Looks are subjective, but why do you say that she is less talented? The new Bond girl looks like a less attractive/beautiful version of Olga Kurylenko. A step back in the looks and talent of the last two lead Bond girls.
Thing is, a gorgeous as Olga is, I never saw her character is being there just to look good. Her arc was about seeking revenge [which mirrored 007's], not about being Bond's love interest.
I like to think it had two things going against it, the first being the writer strike and the second being it was a direct sequel.
From Russia With Love was a direct-sequel. Licence to Kill was affected by the 1988 Writer's Strike. Quantum of Solace was a let-down because Marc Foster wasn't the right guy for the job. He's a good filmmaker, but he isn't Bond material. If Barbara & Michael G. Wilson have one big flaw it's that they don't know how to pick Bond directors. Martin Campbell has been their only strong choice - with Sam Mendes still pending. Cubby & Harry Saltzman were a lot better with their choices since Terence Young, Guy Hamiliton, Lewis Gilbert, Peter Hunt and John Glen were good choices. Not all of them were "great" but they definitely got the job done.
I haven't spoiled myself too much with the leaked info (or lack of) but I'm thinking this will be a smaller film that's more intimate than the last film.
Well it'll probably be more character based. You'll probably get to know M more and she'll have a character arc (for once). I really think, if Sam Mendes is successful, that this and Skyfall will be the Bond movies that people will talk about years from now. Not just Bond fans or fanboys, but casual film goers too.
I'm also glad that they got Javier Bardem to play Silver; he has so much gravity in his performances and I hope Silver will be remembered as a great Bond villain. One thing I miss though is the weird henchmen, like Odd Job. Maybe next time.
You mean CR, right? The star power of the cast for this movie is surreal. The only way it could've gotten better was if they had cast Weisz as initially rumored.
I am glad M gets to be explored even more in SF. My favorite QoS moments had M in them. Especially when Bond was interracting her.
OT: How are you, Oct? Missing you in the Batboards. Are you avoiding them?

Yeah, it seems like there's less traveling, which is fine.
Bond's own history and family seem to be getting some spotlight as well. Something which, if I'm not mistaken hasn't really been brought up in previous films.
