In the new Total Recall

On his way to work, Colin Farrell is reading Fleming's The Spy Who Loved Me.
I thought that was a nice reference.

That's gorgeous. A Bond story is good enough, but the Bond story where James isnt the POV and it really isnt about him kinda ties to TR and Quade pretty well.

Craig is great, but he is a completely different type of Bond.

Connery and Pierce are my favorite Bond's

I always thought Pierce was just a pretty boy version of Moore's Bond.

He didn't quite play it like Moore. I think he would've been better if he had, instead of trying to be this pastiche Bond and combining bits of Sean Connery. Brosnan isn't suited to that. His natural personality is more like Moore. I always felt he was almost like some generic Bond you'd find in a computer game than a real character. Even his films felt like a computer game and in some cases in Die Another Day, even looked like that.

After my family went to the theater to see "Casino Royale" one of my family members said Craig "looked tough" and could handle a fight as opposed to Brosnan who's fights looked choreographed.

Who is the most nancy boy of the Bonds!! Pierce or Roger!

I actually think Roger would own Pierce in a catfight.

Pierce had trouble even with Renard who was smaller than him. Yes, there was Stamper, but he looks like he was thrown in to remind us that Bond is supposed to be capable of fighting bigger foes.

Stamper is the kind of foe that Connery disposed of very quickly in YOLT when he slung Hans off the bridge into the pirahnas.

At least Roger fought Jaws.

At the time of The Living Daylights, Brosnan looked especially small and thin, especially around the shoulders.

Brosnan/Bean was far better than any fight Moore was in though.

Yeah definitely. Every time he's rocking a hairdo based on a cartoon character you know it's going to be good. From Dora The Explorer to Fred Jones.

Bean shouldn't have had any trouble with Brosnan. He would really have whipped Brosnan's ass in real life.

Here were Martin Campbell's directions:

To Bean: You hold back and pull your punches. Don't want to hurt Pierce after all.

To Brosnan: You give it everything you've got. Make sure to look like you could actually hurt him.

Actually, Martin Campbell had to warn Brosnan, for scratching and slapping.

Lot of Brosnan hate in this thread. Not sure I agree with it.

I really like Brosnan, but he is much more of a comedy or romantic lead type guy.

At least Brosnan starred in one of Britain's highest grossing films: Mamma Mia.

Personally I liked that Brosnan played up all the negative qualities of James Bond. The chauvinism, the arrogance and smugness, the cold precision.

Brosnan's Bond was the person that Flemings Bond was on his way to becoming during the last few books; great at his job but a profoundly nasty individual.

I really like Brosnan's interpretation of Bond. Sure, he comes off as cheesy, smug, arrogant and smiley a lot of the time in the company of others, but, to steal words from Casino Royale, he uses it as his armor. He's like that to hide who really is. A cold-blooded killer with many skeletons in his closet.

With him as Bond, while not much of a fighter compare to the others, he was shown to be more of a shootist.
