Maybe, but they are meant to be more literary covers rather than movie poster type covers. It's back to the old style of Bond being just a shadow or outline or not even shown. I've got the first wave of 4, the rest will be out by Sept 6 and by then the retro covers start roilling out which I will also be getting. The US versions look like smaller versions of the Penguin covers.
I like how they did the universal shadowed outline on a solid color cover like they did in the 80's-early 90's in that style. I've got all of them up to that point in that style too, which actually ended up my most read copies. Like these - http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5D9uZtcEVR4/TzvPicVK8nI/AAAAAAAAF4E/9Pwp5d3M--4/s1600/gardnerus1.jpg
I also got myself the Gardner reprints when they came out earlier this summer. http://www.john-gardner.com/sites/default/files/Bond8.jpg
Are the U.S. covers still the ones with the girls on them? Or are you talking about these? http://www.amazon.com/Casino-Royale-Penguin-Modern-Classics/dp/0141187581/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1345757559&sr=1-1&keywords=casino+royale
I like the style of that one. Though I prefer them with more color.
I love those Gardner covers.
